“I chose the B&B based on location, coming from a long drive through Wales. I missed the fact that the pub is closed Mon/Tue: mea culpa. Was contacted via WhatsApp with check-in instructions. Worked for me but perhaps not everyone. The room, under the roof, was a bit hot. ”
“Staff were welcoming and friendly. Hotel appearance looked good. Our bedroom and bathroom was clean and tidy buy very dated. Needs a fresh coat of paint and a shower cubicle instead of a shower over the bath it’s not safe for elderly people. There were toiletries to use. It would be economical to have a hand soap dispenser instead of a bar of soap. But we had an enjoyable stay.”
“Lovely Hotel.Reception staff were very helpful. I had a superior double room well worth the extra cost. Had a lovely ploughmans and sticky toffee pudding for lunch in bar area,really enjoyable.Nice patio outside for evening drinks!!!Breakfast was excellent set in a beautiful dining room,service was excellent especially from sue who went out her way to make it enjoyable!This was my first visit to the Castle Hotel of Brecon and it won't be my last!!”
“If you’re using it as a base, not a bad idea but keep in mind the place is pretty shabby, no shower available in the bathroom a bit smelly and very rundown no reinventing obviously. Put it this way there’s Spains on the chairs you sit on at dinner and there’s a layer of dust so thick it’s changed the colour of the lampshades in the dining room. A real shame as it’s a prime location.”
