Despite being relatively small, they managed to put everything in: coin lockers for leaving your luggage, laundry place, place for microwaving your meals, an onsen. We had the classic Japanese room and actually expected not to have a bathroom inside, but actually it had a toilet and sink. “Our stay at Guesthouse Koundo was excellent. It’s a beautiful home located, in our opinion, in the best spot in Nikko as it is easy to walk to the popular areas as well as catch the bus to go up to the mountain. There are also wonderful neighborhood restaurants to try within walking distance. It’s in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by beautiful nature.
