Familjärt och trevligt hotell
Mycket hjälpsam och positiv personal som verkligen lyfte upplevelsen till att bli riktigt bra. Hotellet ligger lite avsides och anonymt men nära metroline så det gick samt att komma in till centrum.

A sure bet
As others have stated, the owners are exemplary hosts. Breakfast is perfectly acceptable, and that is written from the viewpoint of a northerner who is used to hearty breakfasts, not the coffee and brioche-starters of Italy. Rooms are clean and adequate without luxury. Do note that sounds travel easily through the doors to the rooms, so bring earplugs if you are sensitive.

Good value for Milan
The hotel/guesthouse is easily reached from the centre of Milan by metro followed by a short walk (past a nice bakery). Il Girasole looks unconventional, being a converted factory building. A nice courtyard is hidden behind a metal entrance door. Matteo and his brother are extremely nice hosts, who can provide enthusiastic advice on sightseeing in Milan. Our room was one of the two behind the courtyard which, unfortunately, the WiFi signal from the main building didn't reach - but was fine if you sat outside near reception/breakfast room. Room was clean and comfortable and spacious enough for chairs and a table. Bed was too firm for me (not my wife) so just luck of the draw. No tea/coffee making facilities per the property description, but also no glass for a drink of water (complimentary bottle of water for the first night). Nice breakfast: tea or coffee, a glass of fruit juice, a croissant and a salami and/or cheese roll.

This is a really nice place, run by two brothers who are charming, kind and filled with good energy. The place is not easy to find if you are using public transport: look for the image of a sunflower on the building, it does make it easier to spot. Also you may wish to ask for rooms facing the inner courtyard and not the street; not because of noise (the streets are quiet), but because the building across the street keeps its light on at night, and that can be disturbing for sleep. The area is very nice and they were kind enough to direct me to the nearby canal, ideal for jogging.

Una struttura a 3 stelle con un personale a 5 stelle. Nicola e Matteo sono estremamente cortesi e disponibili. Le camere, molto spaziose, sono pulitissime e arredate con molto gusto, e il cortile interno consente relax e silenzio. Penso sia difficile trovare un rapporto qualita' prezzo migliore di quanto offerto dal Girasole. Assolutamente consigliato, anche per la posizione, a soli 100 metri dalla metro. Io ci ritornero' di sicuro :-)

Wir verbrachten 4 Nächte im Il Girasole und unternahmen von da Shopping Touren nach Mailand, Monza und Saronno. Nicht nur die Lage ist dafür perfekt, wir schätzten auch die besondere Freundlichkeit und das ausgiebige Frühstücks-Buffet. Wir kommen wieder Mattia.

Interesting location and building
I stayed at this hotel more than a year ago, so my memories are not too clear. I do recall that the bathroom was clean and very nice. There were three of us, and we had enough room to move around and set out our bags, etc. The dining room/reception area is loaded with materials about the city. The hosts were very helpful and answered all our questions. The location was a little bit "out of the way", but as it is only about 7 minutes from the Metro station, not a big problem.

Quiet hotel in Milan
A small and beautiful hotel close to the metro in a quiet neighborhood. Hotel staff are very welcoming and helpful. We were given a good explanation of Milan and were best to eat and shop along places to visit within our stay. Large rooms. Good wifi and parking is available inside the hotel at a cost which is highly recommended since the parking spaces in the vicinity are all blue parking spaces (need to pay for the time parked). Breakfast selection is moderate but everything especially the bread, pastries and cakes are all freshly baked in the morning... what a nice smell to wake up to.

Convenient to all Sites in Milan
We had a wonderful stay at Il Girasole. Nicola was wonderful. We had a very limited stay in the city, but he took the time to orient us, provide some handy tips, and made us feel right at home. The rooms were spacious and comfortable enough. The breakfast provided in the morning was delicious and got us going in the morning.

Notez que j'ai horreur d'être appelé par mon prénom par des personnes que je ne connais pas. La qualité de ce petit hôtel, la disponibilité et la gentillesse de ses propriétaires, le silence, la proximité du mètro qui vous amène en quinze petites minutes dans le centre, sont des atouts non négligeables. La rapport qualité prix est très convaincant. Seul bémol : la radio dans la salle du petit déjeuner. C'est une source de bruit parfaitement inutile. Elle nuit au standing de l'hôtel.
