“it wasnt the greatest hotel experience. Room was comfortable, large size, comfortable bed. Temperature was quite cold in the room, and there were areas in the room that were not cleaned properly. The biggest disappointment for me was the food, I had dinner there the first time which was very average, and breakfast next morning was minimal and basic, not a hotel breakfast at all. i won't be back.”

“What an amazing place! Beautifully restored, warm, cosy and very welcoming/relaxing and with a fascinating history (used in many films). Helpful attentive staff whilst not being “stuffy” (a pet hate of mine!). Would definitely treat ourselves to a stay here again. ”

“Absolutely superb place to stay. I stayed for 3 nights as part of a business trip and was impressed mostly by the staff and service. The room was an excellent size and well appointed with high quality decor and en-suite, and a personalised welcome message. Parking was good although a little tight in places. The only slightly negative point is the road noise from around 6am, being in a main road, and with a room at the front of the property. Otherwise superb and will absolutely stay...

“Really lovely hotel with charm and personality. Room was spacious, bed very comfortable and proper window blinds made the room dark for sleeping. Breakfast was really nice, basic range of alternative but everything was nicely cooked and of good quality. Lovely setting by the river, lots of restaurants nearby and a 5-minute walk to the main shopping street. Would definitely recommend this place to a friend!”
