“A nice hotel for an english country experience. Some parts of the hotel had seen better days, and unfortunately our room was located in one of the more tired parts of the hotel. Getting from reception/restaurant to the room was a hassle with a great number of stairs and hallways. The breakfast and the grounds both were great. The pub, where we had a couple of meals was fine some days, but one evening the meals were clearly forgotten and rushed when remembered. The wi-fi was down two whole days,...

“Starting here on my own as a single woman I felt safe. My room, bathroom and the communal facilities were really clean, although there were signs of wear in a couple of places, for example the bed base. I was in the original hotel, where the building itself could do with some attention in places (window ledges, etc) which I hope they attend to because it's a beautiful building in a wonderful location. “Really nice place to stay, modern, quiet, great gym and pool. Room was spacious, had everything I needed, clean, comfortable bed. The only thing I would say is that the breakfast wasn't up to the same level as the rest of the experience, which is sad.”
