Built in the 1950s by our grandfather and now shared by Matt, Nicolas and Marie-Sophie, it was entirely reimagined in 2022 with uncompromising care, blending Irish heritage with refined contemporary comfort.

Freagh Castle is a place apart. Once part of a 19th-century estate overlooking the Atlantic, it carries a quiet memory of a wilder, more authentic Ireland. Time does not stand still here, it unfolds gently, shaped by wind, light and the rhythm of the sea.

From the house, the view stretches endlessly, where the ocean meets the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands. Vast skies, shifting light, and truly spectacular sunrises and sunsets define each day.

Designed for those who love to cook and gather, the kitchen is a true culinary space. A large American fridge with freezer, multifunction oven, high-performance cooktop and a generous array of utensils invite you to explore local produce and honour Irish traditions.

Living spaces offer absolute comfort, with underfloor heating, high-speed satellite internet, carefully selected materials and abundant natural light. Two elegant bathrooms feature both walk-in showers and bathtubs. Fine linens are provided for a seamless stay.

At the heart of the home, the fireplace casts a soft, enveloping warmth, with the subtle scent of peat in the air. From the living room, the landscape unfolds quietly, with grazing cattle, passing horses, and the occasional glimpse of a hare, fox or weasel.
