Three pros of the room: 1) it was newly-renovated – it actually did look like the example photos online. 2) I appreciated that it had a small desk where I could work. 3) It had a mini-fridge and microwave!
Two cons of the room: 1) even when I turned down the heat all the way, it didn't seem to respond so the room was quite hot. Fortunately the window opened which allowed me to be able to sleep (without having to resort to using the AC). 2) the bathroom smelled like cigarette smoke for my whole stay, even when I kept the fan running – it must have been baked into the ceiling or something. An air freshener in there would have gone a long way.
As always, the free breakfast and overall value of a Days Inn were pluses. It was overall not the best experience I've had at a Days Inn but not the worst either!
