The view was beautiful and definitely the only best part of our stay.
This is not a hotel, so don’t keep your expectations high! The pillows had an unpleasant smell, and some of the towels appeared dirty, there was a dead caterpillar in the kitchen drawer. On top of that, the supplies provided were extremely limited. We were given only a small hand soap and three Empty bottles of dish soap. We also had to buy our own shampoo, bath soap, dish soap, because the property was not stocked with basic supplies for guests. We have stayed in many vacation rentals before, and this was the first time we experienced this level of poor preparation.
Another major issue was the pet fee. There was no pet fee disclosed on Expedia when booking, but a couple of days before arrival, the owner contacted me and told me there is a pet fee and he will charge me through Expedia. But mid vacation I got a text requesting the fee through personal payment app (which I paid same day) For a small dog staying 4 nights, this felt excessive and unexpected, especially since I could have paid less for a pet sitter and had a much smoother vacation experience.
What disappointed me most was the customer service. When I politely asked where they keep additional toilet paper in the unit, the owner responded: “We provide one roll per bathroom… It is not a hotel. You’ve been there three days and I’m getting this message now…” The response felt rude and unprofessional.
