Pure Swedish charm—whether for a weekend or several weeks.<br><br>Our houseboat GRAND PLAISIR is located in the heart of the famous Mecklenburg Lake District and is a floating suite for anyone who appreciates the extraordinary: life on the water and unspoiled nature, combined with modern luxury. <br><br>LIVING ON BOARD<br><br>Raise a glass to life with your sundowner on the huge rooftop lounge terrace and treat yourselves to delicious food from the open-concept kitchen, which is extremely well-equipped with fine champagne, white, and red wine glasses, black designer cutlery, a 4-burner stove, oven, large refrigerator, dishwasher, a French press, milk frother, espresso maker, salad spinner, baking pans… and some seriously sharp knives! <br><br>Enjoy your meals and relax in the spacious living area, featuring a solid-wood dining table, comfortable chairs, and a large recamier. Thanks to the large panoramic windows, you’ll have a view of the water from everywhere. And with the underfloor heating, it’s always cozy and warm, even on colder days.<br><br>To spend the night, simply anchor wherever the view is most beautiful—in a quiet cove or in the middle of a lake—and enjoy the unique experience of falling asleep surrounded by water and waking up in the morning to curious swans outside your window.<br><br>Thanks to powerful solar panels on the roof, you’re self-sufficient and can go days without shore power during the summer months. With our massive 1,000-liter fresh and wastewater tanks, you’re also completely independent of harbors for several days.<br><br>We’re enthusiastic houseboat enthusiasts ourselves, and through our many vacation trips, we knew what was impractical or missing on other rental boats. You’ll find the complete<br>list of amenities below.<br><br>CAN I DRIVE THE HOUSEBOAT MYSELF WITHOUT A BOAT LICENSE?<br>Yes. If you don’t have a recreational boat license (inland), you can obtain a charter license from us instead, which authorizes you to operate the boat. A three-hour training session is required for this. We’ll conduct this training with you on the day of your arrival. We charge €240 for the charter license and the training.<br><br>HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TO DRIVE THE BOAT?<br>Maneuvering a large houseboat isn’t exactly easy at first—but you’ll get the hang of it! As part of the charter license training, we’ll train you right at the helm—until you’ve mastered the most important maneuvers.<br><br>I DON’T FEEL CONFIDENT ENOUGH TO SAIL ON MY OWN<br>We want to ensure you have a worry-free vacation and understand that some guests feel hesitant about sailing on their own. We understand this completely, which is why we offer a special skipper service that’s unique throughout the lake district: For challenging maneuvers—such as docking, undocking, and passing through locks—we’ll provide a skipper who’ll briefly come on board and handle the maneuvers for you. You’re also welcome to book our skipper by the hour for entire trips around Mirow—and then you won’t have to worry about a thing. You can simply relax, enjoy life on board, and pour yourself a cold drink. Upon request, we’ll also anchor the boat for you in a cove where you can spend the night.
