Locanda del Podestà Àr ett gammalt hus som byggdes runt sjuttonhundratalet. Tidigare har podestàs bostad ÄterstÀllts helt och hÄllit de ursprungliga karaktÀrerna men förser det med alla dagens bekvÀmligheter. Det ligger i den historiska stadskÀrnan i byn Montespertoli bara 5 minuters promenad frÄn nÀrmaste stormarknad. Byn ligger en halvtimme frÄn Florens pÄ Via Volterrana, en av de Àldsta vÀgarna i Toscana, som börjar frÄn Florens och korsar kullarna i Val di Pesa och Valdelsa vidrör Volterra och fortsÀtter till kusten nÀra Cecina. Landet ligger i ett centralt lÀge med avseende pÄ de stora konststÀderna i Toscana, det Àr faktiskt 40 minuter frÄn San Gimignano, Monteriggioni och Pistoia, en timme frÄn Siena, Volterra, Livorno, Pisa och Lucca.

Gorgeous property in a Tuscan hill-top village. The house is just incredible. Lovely and cool, due to all the ancient stone, but with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Fantastic showers - really powerful - and a much-needed plunge pool for when we needed relief from the heat. The location of the house is perfect. Supermarket and bars/restaurants/wine-tasting all within walking distance.

The villa and Montespertoli are so charming! The home is so lovely! The view from top level is unbelievable! The court yard a wonderful spot for a meal. Only tip is if traveling by bus on Sunday times are very limited! We ended up taking a train from Florence to Empoli to get a decent time into town. Though bus ticket purchases are very limited. Maybe purchase in Florence. Or spurge on a taxi! But, during week we went to Florence twice and had plenty of options to get to and from. You can buy tickets in Tabbachi! So many great restaurants and vineyard a short walk and delicious wine! Market was amazing! So much to love! So peaceful!!!

live like the villagers of Montesperatoli

Our family of eight truly enjoyed our stay in this unique 400 year old casa, with modern amenities in the bathrooms and kitchen. It is a very cool juxtaposition with old stone hearth ,stone sink beamed arched ceilings, ancient stone walls. the awesome rooftop deck was an wonderful setting for a tuscan meal with beautiful views of the countryside. What a unique experience to live like the villagers, going to the supermarket, the small coffee,& restaurants and witness all of the townspeople from babies, school age kids & parents to old residents hanging out in the town piazza thru the day and evenings. A varied experience after spending 3 days in the hear of Rome. Highly recommend doing a bike tour with Massimo & team (a 10 minute walk from the casa) "Toscana by bike" for the day, as well. visitors should be aware the 5 bedrooms are small with no real closets, but they provide good privacy & quiet. And most of the showers are on the small side but there are 4 of them. The washer was a plus, and drying in the open air on the terrace, just like the villagers. Highly recommend for travelers who don't mind the rusticity, but are interested in experiencing the charm of a small village. We were a blended family of (2) parents with 3 sons and a daughter and 2 girlfriends, ages 20-30. Everyone enjoyed our stay!

Amazing views of Tuscany countryside

This house is incredible, leaving no stone ( literally) unturned to find a balance between preserving the medieval charm of the house but providing modern comforts. Even the water pressure is great! Beds are all comfortable. The views from the decks are breathtaking ! We loved exploring Tuscany with this amazing house as our base .

Great location and space

Montespertoli did not disappoint. This home is very well located to enjoy a small town and have easy access to other small towns, as well as Florence and Lucca-two of our favorites. Wine tasting, gelato, bakery, groceries, post office all within a short walk. The listing was accurate and our family of six had plenty of room to be together or find a quiet space. We especially enjoyed the rooftop patio. Bruno was responsive to questions and recommendations and the check in/check out process was smooth. Thank you for a lovely visit.

What a beautiful house in Montespertoli!

My wife and I spent nine nights is this spacious and well-equipped home in the quiet village of Montespertoli in the Chianti region of Tuscany. Bruno was a wonderful host, always quick to respond to our questions. He left the home equipped well for our first night or two and directed us to the Co-Op grocery store only a 3-4 minute walk from the front door. Our rental car was securely parked in his garage every night, so no need to park on the street or worry about not finding a place close to the house. With the stone walls, Wi-Fi signals can be lost from time to time, but just pop in to the laundry room to quickly reconnect. Bruno even let us purchase his brand-new stainless steel Bialetti stove-top espresso maker which had become a little tarnished from the gas stove-top. We would highly recommend this home for your group of 10-12 people, but it was quite nice for just the two of us as well.

Perfect small town stay near Florence

This house was perfect for our group of 9 girlfriends. Every room had a bathroom to share which was so convenient. It’s location was also perfect to explore Tuscany and all the hysterical gems. Montespertoli is a beautiful town to visit and Bruno was an excellent host!

Urlaub wie erhofft und erwartet

Die Ankunft von unserem Gastgeber Bruno war sehr gut organisiert und der Zugang zur Unterkunft problemlos möglich. Die Unterkunft ist top sauber gewesen und liebevoll hergerichtet/eingerichtet. Wir haben uns schnell wohl gefĂŒhlt und mit allem zurechtgefunden. Unser Gastgeber war immer erreichbar und wenn mal etwas war, kĂŒmmerte er sich sofort darum. Die Lage von Montespertoli war fĂŒr uns optimal, da alle SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten der Toskana gleichermaßen erreichbar waren. Einkaufs- und Essensmöglichkeiten gab es aussreichend vor Ort und die Einwohner waren freundlich und offen. Die Unterkunft ist absolut weiter zu empfehlen. Vielen Dank Bruno....

Great place if looking for a stay away from tourist area

The house was nice. The town itself has a couple small bars and restaurants that we checked out. It was easily walkable to the town and close enough to get into the Florence area. We did wish there was more soap and shampoo on the bathrooms and if the beds could have been made. Otherwise beautifysetting and a gracious owner who always responded quickly to any question we had.

Home Away From Home

Remarkable combination of the old and the new. The villa had all the modern conveniences set in a centuries-old structure. There were five of us staying for a week. A family group of three generations. Two grandparents, two parents, and our 16-year old granddaughter. There was plenty of room and bathrooms for all. We had comfy beds and crisp linens. Closet space is at a premium, but we managed. The villa is located in a delightful small town and we felt like locals. We shopped at the supermarket that had mouth-watering offerings of everything! We also enjoyed delicious meals in restaurants we could walk to. And, of course, there was gelato! We had a car and used the villa as a home base to explore Florence, Pisa, Volterra, and some wineries. It was so comforting to know we were coming "home" at the end of our journeys. We enjoyed a memorable week in this extraordinary venue. Grazie to our host, Bruno.

Wonderful

Villa is spacious, courtyards intimate, lots of things to discover in the walls, remnants of original decorating, pottery, little nooks. Views are spectacular and located near city center. We enjoyed going for cafe every morning. Several spots to choose from. We were there for a month and it was easy to get to train station to travel to Rome and Venice. Lots of quaint towns to drive to also. The host Bruno was very easy to contact and replied quickly.

A Charming Apartment

Our family of nine was entranced by the old-world authenticity of this apartment, yet with the modern amenities we all want. The town was small and easily walkable to good restaurants, with a good coffee shop practically next door. Great house, great location, great host!

We loved the feel of this old house with modern conveniences; perfect for the whole family size wise. We loved walking down to Bar Pasticceria Fiorentina Caterina in the morning for yummy patries and cafe latte’s. We frequented many of the restaurants here and did not have a bad meal. We walked to the market and butcher shop to grill at the villa. There were several activities in the piazza during our three week stay. Perfect location for day trips all through Tuscany. Most touching, my husband got sick and Bruno messaged me every day to check on him. ❀

Es war ein wundervoller Aufenthalt in einem traumhaft und hochwertig renoviertem Haus. Es hat so viel Charm und eine mega tolle Aussicht! Da wir zwei Teenager dabei hatten war es Ideal, da diese weit weg von uns ihr eignes Reich hatten ;-). Auch Bruno ist ein toller Gastgeber, der sich super schnell um alles gekĂŒmmert hat. Excellent stay in a local village

Our stay was exactly what we needed and exceeded our expectations. A beautifully renovated/restored villa with all the facilities you could need and it was terrific to have space after a spate of living out of hotel rooms. Walking distance to everything that is needed and a great opportunity to practice speaking Italian. Highly recommend this accommodation. Bruno is fabulous and incredibly helpful and responsive.

Montespertoli Gem

This property is in a perfect location, central to many sights to visit. As a group of 8, having 4 bedrooms all with their own bathrooms was great. The kitchen was well equipped. We especially liked the espresso maker. Having a washing machine was convenient, but more specific directions in English might have helped. The outside 3 patios were wonderful. We had a cooking class at the house and it ended with dinner on the upper patio with an outstanding view of the valley. We enjoyed cool dips in the small pool on hot days, and there always seemed to be a cool breeze to help on with the heat. Montespertoli is a cute little town. The house is just a block from the first gelato place and the first bakery is soon after. The markets on 2 different days were a highlight. Walking the piazzas was a delight and we walked to the well equipped grocery store too. The only concern, if you can't handle stairs this house would be a struggle. There are many steps into the house. Once there, the steps aren't so bad, but you need to be careful. The advantage is that you have multiple levels of patios each with their own benefits and quaintness. The house is well maintained with quality workmanship throughout. It has historic elements such as the old well in the kitchen which adds to the flavor of this home. We would have appreciated an extra set of keys to main door going to the village . Bruno was very helpful. If you want to experience village life in Tuscany this is the place to do it!

A lovely stay in a great villa

A really nice property in a great location close to some super little restaurants. Very helpful having a garage and the plunge pool came in handy in the July heat!! Worked well having two living areas given we had my parents with us. Bruno very helpful and quick to respond to any queries; a charming host! Lovely views over the valley.

Family Vacation to Italy 2023

Our group of six (two parents, two 18-year-olds, and two 19-year-olds) stayed in this VRBO June 24-26, 2023. We LOVED it! There was plenty of room to spread out. I wanted to stay in a castle, and this is the closest we got to it. The villa is amazing! We ate meals and played cards at the table on the top deck. The views of the surrounding Tuscany hills were spectacular. Our teenagers wanted to spend more time at the villa enjoying the ambience. Montespertoli was very cute. It felt genuine and authentic, not touristy. We ate at two restaurants (both were delicious) and visited the pharmacy. The pharmacist was very helpful with an eye infection and skin rash (without speaking English). Most people in town did not speak English (or spoke very little) because the town is not touristy. We did not have any problems with a language barrier (we only speak English). I've already recommended this VRBO to a friend visiting Italy in Aug. :) Host communication was great, check-in was easy, host recommendations were helpful. My entire family HIGHLY recommends this villa.
