OK stay.
Very average stay. I hadn't realized the hotel was in such a remote area. Staff weren't very professional but otherwise friendly enough. Would have been nice to have some area in the bar to have a nice quiet relaxing tea/coffee /drink but instead it catered for dining only which gets rather busy and noisy at night and there's nowhere else to dine. The same basic menu for lunch and dinner. Bedroom I was allocated was very small and and bed very uncomfortable, bathroom likewise and there's is nowhere to put your things such as toilet and makeup bags etc. Overall average stay and room for improvement. On the plus side receptionist and doorman very nice and friendly an asset to the establishment. Beautiful, quiet country surroundings if that's what your looking for.

Great stay at Crover House. Staff were super friendly and helpful. A shout out to the front desk staff who helped co-ordinate getting phone messages dealt with. Also the maintenance folks that pumped up my rental car tyre that was having issues. It allowed me to get to Cavan to get replaced. Food and service in restaurant was outstanding. They treated us Canadians very well!!

Some of the dining room staff were unfriendly and appeared untrained in hospitality. The dinner menu was limited, and vegetables served cold, overall the food was just average.

3 days relaxation and service.....
3 nights bnb...lovely lakeview room, beautiful grounds to sit out and admire,.hard working employee's, plenty of food, just everything you need for a break, surrounding area lovely for a drive, so reasonably priced ..do it..

Gorgeous warm and friendly family feel hotel. Absolutely gorgeous setting. Lovely food in the bar. We had a great breakfast in the morning.

Fantastic stay
Lovely stay at Crover House. Lovely comfortable room, lovely breakfast. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend a stay in this hotel set in beautiful grounds with amazing lake views.

the breakfast was fantastic - would stay again for the breakfast alone! We also had a dinner in the evening which was also great. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Beautiful hotel lovely break away
Excellent Hotel beautiful rooms staff very friendly beautiful views of the lake good golf course very reasonable price to play we were there when it was very warm no air conditioning or room fans made it very warm during the night but it still wouldn’t change the fact we loved our stay and are booked to return in October

From the minute we walked in the door we were treated as if we were the only guests in the hotel (the hotel was very busy with guests/wedding/communion). All the staff, without exception were excellent and went over and above to make our stay as wonderful as possible. The rooms were crisp, comfortable, and nicely decorated with a lovely view over the lake and surrounding countryside. The setting of the hotel is picture postcard perfect. The bathrooms were clean and modern with ample towels and toiletries. The food in the restaurant was beautiful, as was the breakfast. As a group of 4 novices we played a round of golf also which was an absolute treat and topped off a brilliant night away. I have stayed in several 5 star hotels in recent years, but Crover House Hotel is in a different league. The attention to detail and customer service is phenomenal. Would I stay in this hotel again . . . ABSOLUTELY. I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else!

Crover House Hotel stay
We had a flying visit for 1 night instead of 2 nights...so we were restricted to sampling all the facilities available to us. Everything that we did sample however was excellent and a visit to the Crover House Hotel would be highly recommend if you are ever in the Mount Nugent area.

Location was very good gardens lovely staff very friendly and helpful couldn’t be more helpful. Food was great. Nothing bad to say except for I was woken by someone trying to get into my room at 6.00 am

Pretty views but that's about it
i stayed in the place for 2 nights, the house itself is very beautiful and the lake within minutes walk is also stunning, food and restaurant staff was nice too, however below are the things i struggle to outweigh with the beautiful views and the garden: *the room felt very tired and certainly felt like it needed a touch up *the shower is only for hot or cold regulation, NOT the shower strength regulation - i burnt myself badly, finding this out. *when you put on the shower while the shower door is open, the water direction is straight out of the door, the shower head didn't seem to be adjustable, and if i did i wouldn't been able to reach it anyway. *worst - i could hear through the door like they were from paper, very unpleasant to listen someone doing their business, coughing etc *the night i stayed they had wedding on too, which obviously sounded through the whole hotel, and didn't allow to sleep *breakfast start from 8am only - this is way too late for business people, the office for the day is about 40 - 50 min away; 7.30am i'm already in the car, for full day intensive work this would be important meal.
