“I was overall happy with my stay at the Fairmont FKL, with one very important exception (listed under cons below). Pros: Close to the gondola, has a nice spa and decent gym. Mostly friendly staff. Spacious rooms. Okay level of cleanliness. Cons: Rooms do NOT look like they do in the hotel photos, they are dated and in need of a renovation. “We’ve stayed at The Peaks on several occasions, and sadly, this trip was incredibly disappointing. From the moment we checked in, the experience was poor. The front desk employee was curt and provided virtually no information about the hotel or amenities. “Stayed here for the Fourth of July and the experience did not disappoint. We were upgraded to a bigger room and didn’t have any issues with extending our stay by a day. The staff were super nice and professional and the complimentary bottle of wine was a fun way to end the trip. The hotel is also just a few hundred feet from the Gondola, which made it easy to get to/from the town of Telluride.
