“Its higher up in the hills, its far enough from the busy areas so its peacefull, all you hear is the chickens. Mountains look foggy and mysterious. Its a good location to go in walks from, I saw lots of the famous terraced fields. “La Dao was amazing! It is such a gorgeous location and the staff worked hard to please. The only thing to be mindful of is this is NOT near the action in Sa Pa-it is about a 250-300 dong can ride away in ta van which is a long bumpy road to get to. But if you’re looking for a quiet escape it is perfect! ”

“We booked this hotel to have a nap in before our train departed but it turned out to be quite nice for the price. It is the cheapest hotel I've ever booked but certainly not the worst. We would have happily stayed a night if not for time constraints. The room did smell a little bit like cigarettes and the bed was Vietnamese (so hard by western standard), but again for the price we were happy with it.”
