If you like the smell of an old canvas pup tent that's been put up wet for about 6 months and pulled out. That's what this place smells like. It is disgusting. Was there for three nights. Had never got any better. The mold and mildew on the screened in porch you couldn't hardly see through the screen. Mold build up trash all over the screen. hole in the walls in the bedroom plaster coming down off the ceiling. The sliding glass door wouldn't open all the way. Got stuck open partially all night long. Very insecure gaps under all the doors so anything can crawl in from it. This is a very disgusting place for a night.what is good about it. It was close to the park. That's about it. Oh and it had hot watera hot water

well appointed kitchen, beds comfortable/clean. No HVAC system, room heater wouldn't work, ceiling in living room coming down, screen porch in poor repair, no towels (think at least there should be) no outlet in. bathroom and no place to plug in hair dryer & use a mirror. I had asked for a number to call owner & didn't get one, I arrived late due to numerous traffic delays, used ring doorbell and said to leave a message, as I was walking away it started talking to me and told me where to go. Thomas (owner) was able to get a small heater but was inadequate nights and evenings were cold. He did give me his number. Would be a great place if a little money and effort went into it. Other close places where cheaper and better appointed probably wouldn't stay there again. Walking distance to crater was miles.

Terrible
The screened in porch has mold all over the screen, when you walk in the door the house smells like mold. The roof in the living room is falling in as well as the roof in the bedroom. There are no towels, no paper towels provided. It is not with-in walking distance unless you want to walk over a mile on a busy road with no shoulder. Floor was dirty as were the bath mats in the bathroom. The cabin has potential, but there needs to some work and deep cleaning.

Grandma's house meets summer camp cabin
If you're looking for a 5 star place to stay, this ain't it. However it met all our needs for a short stay. It's close to Crater of Diamonds State Park, had a clean comfortable bed, bathroom was clean but there were no bath linens. Everything else was provided. The outside space has beautiful moss and we enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch.

Place of convenience
From the outside it looks okay. The inside on the other hand is less than to be desired. Parts of the ceiling are falling down. The place smelled like bleach when we walked in. It looked clean. Then the roaches appeared. The beds are like sleeping on springs. Had to wash anything we used before we could use it. We didn’t use the dishwasher for the fact of the cockroaches. The only convenience is it is close to the diamond mine. It says walking distance yeah it’s about a mile and half give or take.

A little disappointed
The property was in need of some repairs. The ceiling is starting to fall down. There is missing boards on the deck. Which is a trip hazard. The texture on living room ceiling is hanging down. There where no towels or wash rags. It was clean but had a smell. We came across roaches in the middle of the night . My wife was not happy about that.

Summer stay
Thus was a great place to stay! Despite the sweltering heat, the air conditioning and ceiling fans kept us comfortable at all times. The cabin was neat and tidy and the beds were very comfortable. Bed linens and pillows were provided but we knew ahead of time to bring towels. The kitchen was stocked with basic supplies which was very helpful. We didn't use the stove or oven but the full size fridge and microwave were spotlessly clean. Very conveniently located near Crater of Diamonds park the camp ground was quiet and we felt completely safe at all times. Our family plans to visit the area again, in cooler weather, and would 100% stay here again.

Great place to stay with the family.
Loved our stay at the Miners house. It was perfect for My wife and I along with our English Bulldog. House was clean and ample bedding was provided. Bathroom towels are not provided if you plan on using the shower. We plan on staying again in the future.

Great place for the price
After reading some reviews I was nervous about this rental. I was very pleasantly suprised! The only bugs we saw were actually wood roaches. Not the other. If you have ever lived in the woods in the midwest they are in the cleanest of house's. The house was dated, but extremely CLEAN. Bring a large plastic container to keep your dry goods in and there is no problem. The fact that there is only 5 min to the Creater of Dimonds state park is AWESOME. ALSO, bring towels!! But i want to say the sheets they had were very silky and clean. They also provided Netflix and other programs on the TV. WIFI is also included and works great. Located on the front porch is some screens and buckets, you can rent the rest at the park, vut if you want a cart to pull get to the park by 7:45 am and be as close to first in line.

Great little miners cabin
The cabin was nice, perfect for miners. It was clean and rustic, great access to the park and supplies for mining. We grilled and used the kitchen to cook. It had everything we needed and was perfectly adequate. TV worked and we couldn’t have asked for more in a miners cabin!

Cockroaches rodent droppings smelled like urine ceiling caving in many lights burned out cleanliness non existent water smelled very bad furniture was filthy tub and toilet was not cleaned from prior use previous tenents clothes (i.e.) underware etc. left in closets if you want to call them closets overall a terrible place only good thing was it was very close to state park

Where to start. From the leaves clogging the gutter, to the black mold in air conditioner, the creepy door that has bolt at on top with some kind of sensor to the carpet bulge with a lot of staples, the bath tub not attached to the drain. The two full length mirrors on either side of bed facing the bed. Overall this place should be taken off your list. To be fair it is close to the park enterance, its' another two miles to visitor center. If you wanted a place close to the diamond mine this not the place to stay. But if you want ghost experience this is it.

WE used this as a rest between digs in the park. Kids like the big screen TV and the screen porch was a great place to store our equipment. Quiet, peaceful place. This is a cabin with two bedrooms nice living room and kitchen. Basic necessities

The place was absolutely filthy. Cockroaches galore. Mice dropping on the stove, under the sinks and in the cupboards. Had no other choice but to stay. I will never step foot in that place ever again. Disgusting

Could have been better.
Place has terrible smell, floors very dirty, curtains full of dust, widows so dirty you can't see out, very uncomfortable beds, fridge horrible, under sinks disgusting with mice droppings, dirty towels in kitchen, hole in deck DANGEROUS. Since we knew there would be no refund, we cleaned, bought candles, fabreeze and made the best of it. We will NOT return! Not a very good first VRBO stay.

It is a rustic cabin, but with running hot water. The property was clean in some areas, but not others. There were no towels and it only sleeps 4 unless you bring sleeping bags yourself. It is a good location for going to Diamond Crater state park and check in was easy.

Places was a 2 bedroom cabin and 1 bathroom. It was sufficient for a cabin in the woods.
We stayed 2 nights at this cabin. 2 adults and 2 kids age 11. Cabin is very close to Crater of Diamonds which was the purpose of our visit. The cabin was for sleeping and showering only for us. We did not cook. The cabin was fine. It is not fancy, it is old and not as clean as some might want but not as dirty as some places Ive been to. If you are looking for a modern cabin this is not for you. The space heaters worked great as temps were in the 30s at night. I do wish we would have brought our own linens but they did provide them other than towels. The campsite is a bit dated and run down but like I said its older. We didnt talk with anyone but people that obviously live there waved and seemed nice enough. We loved that they allowed pets and lots of space to walk our dog. I would stay there again but only for the purpose of sleeping and showering. They have a few places to eat nearby but only one chain place, Sonic. Baskin Robbins was close by too. 😊

Horrible rental
Do not stay here unless you don’t mind flying roaches landing on you, black mold, rat, and Roach droppings. I guess anyone can list a property on vrbo and they aren’t checked out. I tried contacting owner with no response. Had to go get another hotel. Out my money and explained to vrbo I am allergic to roaches and mold and they still asked me to go back to property to try and get pics of everything.

The place was filthy.
I cleaned for three hours. If you walked across the floor you would have big wads of hair on your socks. Cobwebs. Bathroom not clean. No towels. Ceiling cracked and paint falling off and a big rat in the kitchen. Floor was buckled. Underwear and socks in couch. Dropped a pen but left it there. Dirty bedding was crammed in a storage cabinet

Ask for Pictures of your Surroundings!!!!
The cabin was a bit outdated but it was clean when we got there. It did have a bad odor when we walked in, but that went away the next day. This cabin would be good for men to stay in. We went with three ladies. The place across the street was a little scary. There was stuff scattered everywhere. It gave off a bad vibe so we never stayed there. We went back during the day to drop off the key and stayed in a hotel in town. The host was nice and waited for us to get there before he left, but again a scary place for three women to stay. If you are going on a guys trip this place would be great for you but not for women on their own.

We had a pleasant stay.
The property was very clean and lovely. We were running behind due to car trouble delaying us and we were coming from 5 hours away. The property manager left the keys where we could find them easily. We would absolutely stay again. Worth the price.

Miner's camp
I texted 3 times before going with no response. I did call and was told where to meet. When we got there the office was closed but I was met and told door was unlocked and key was on the table. When we opened the door you get hit with very bad musty smell. Very dusty I had to wipe out the frig before I put food in it. I went to the store and bought clorox wipes and cleaned the microwave and stove and counters. It says it sleeps six so I was expecting a sleeper sofa, no a loveseat and a couch. The place was in a great location just outside Creator of Diamonds, if it had been cleaner it would have been great. Also bring your own towels wash clothes and kitchen towels. I bought pot holders and a kitchen towel while there.

Filthy floors. I went to Mufreesboro, bought a mop and cleaner to mop the floors. I swept thoroughly, mop floors with cleaning vinegar, changing water three times in the bucket. It was like mud. Stove is disgusting. I couldn't help but to think the beds were nasty. Would not recommend this place. It needs to be shut down!

Close to the Park
Many reviews say the property wasn't clean and I want to share that our experience was that it was clean enough for a quick weekend and the proximity to the crater made it work. The bedding was clean, the floors felt clean to walk on, and the kitchen was clean. *Bring handsoap. None was provided. There was dish soap though! The host was very quick to respond any time I messaged and we enjoyed our weekend!

Overwhelming moldy smell
The house had a nauseating musky smell and mold everywhere and reminded me of a house that had been onoccupied for a long time. The walls were peeling in the bathroom and living room and the blinds in the bedroom only closed 2/3 of the way. The screened porch had tears and loose spots so that the bugs could easily get in.

Family Vacation
This was the perfect place for my family to stay. I highly recommend it. We never missed that there was no TV. Didn't need it. We were too busy at the crater of diamonds Park and too pooped when we returned to worry about RV...lol You di need to bring your own towels. I knew this before hand From reading previous reviews. Will stay here again in the future! Thank you Mr. Houser!

Hotel was filthy dirty with mold actively growing in walls
We were so disappointed in how dirty our place was we cut our stay short. The blinds were all broken in the bedroom so the room we slept in was visible from the outside. We didn’t feel safe. The floors were so dirty our feet were black from walking around. The place was in disrepair with multiple holes in the walls, the ceiling in the master was leaking and caving in and there was also mold actively growing in the master bedroom. There were bugs all inside the tub and it was clear that nothing had been cleaned for our stay.

Horrible stay away. It is over a mile one way to the volcano. Sheets never change,, the refrigerator had dead bugs in it nasty. Stove greasey, smell bad mold, had a severe asthma attack,

It was what I expected and that's OK
The location is very near the diamond mine park. The cabin is very basic and missing some essentials: a shelf or hooks in the bathroom for your toiletries and clothes, and vent in the bathroom so it gets extremely wet. The linens were clean but the mattresses need replacing. I personally need a bedside table and there was not one in the front bedroom. It was cleaner than I anticipated by reading the reviews, but I'm a bit of a germaphob and it is a bit cleaner now. The living area furniture is quite comfy and the kitchen is stocked with just about anything you might need. It was unpleasant to see and smell raw sewage in the back yard from the RV park behind the cabin. DO NOT set foot in the "creek". The owner left a bundle of firewood which we greatly enjoyed. All that said, if I were ever going to return to Murfreesboro, which I do not anticipate, I would stay here again.

We stayed here because of the great location to the Craters of a diamonds park, which was perfect. The cabin however was very dirty, needs lots of little updates to make it a full furnished property like towels, new shower curtain - things like that. If you stay be okay with a place that hasn’t been cleaned in a long while, bring towels for showering, bring paper towels. The owner Thomas was kind enough to refund us, as we left early cause with a two year old and no way to shower & the overall condition this wasn’t an option for us.
