Welcome to Blue Moon Cottage, expertly managed by Great Mountain Cabin Rentals.

Enjoy mountain life at the Blue Moon Cottage. Our place is small yet cozy, with everything you need to escape from the stress of everyday life. Feeling hot or cold? Soak up the sun or moonlight while showering in the seasonal outdoor shower that features both hot and cold water! Tired? Take a nap in our hammock! Sit beside our gas fire pit while gazing over the mountains. Hungry? Cook some meals on our BBQ grill! Have some family fun by going whitewater rafting at the Ocoee River (20 min away) or enjoy all the hiking trails and waterfalls that Cherokee National Forest has to offer. Murphy downtown is 25 min away where you can go antique shopping and savor a delicious meal. The quaint little town of Blue Ridge is 35 min away, where you and your family can take the Scenic Railway or tour Mercier Orchards.

The Space: Our home is tucked away on Hideaway Mountain, featuring brand new decks for overall enjoyment of the beautiful nature surrounding us.

When you open the front door you will immediately be blown away by our “million dollar” view. The entrance hallway will have cushions and rugs for you to enjoy listening to some vintage records, as well as a high countertop to sip your morning coffee or tea overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. Under the record player you will find a variety of board games for a family fun night.

Next is our living room which has a gas stone fireplace that features a timer to make it easier not to forget you have turned it on! Our couch, although it is not a sleeper sofa, is big enough to sleep 1 or 2 kids.

Next is the recently upgraded kitchen equipped with everything you might need to cook some delicious meals. You will also find a dining room table that has been refinished for your enjoyment.

Need to do some laundry? You will find our washer and dryer in the laundry area.

Our two bedrooms are next, with spacious closets, as well as remote control ceiling fans. One bedroom has a King and one has a queen size bed. Both bedroom’s TVs have a Fire Stick so that you can enjoy watching your favorite movies and shows.

The cabin has central heating and air for your comfort.

Outside the house you will also find a fire pit, to make s’mores or simply gather around with your family to tell some scary stories at night or enjoy the hot tub with a privacy fence.

On our lower deck there is a double papasan and adirondack chairs to enjoy a nice thunderstorm or the moon and stars in the evenings.

This is a pet friendly cabin and there is a $50 pet fee that will be added to your stay if you bring a pet. Please let us know your intention on bringing a pet in advanced.

You will be required to sign a contract and provide a copy of your drivers license.

*Any stays over 28 days will incur additional cleaning fees.

**There are 2 cameras one on the  front deck facing the driveway and one on the side of the house facing the view.

Beautiful Hideaway

In town visiting my Dad, he is currently building so we needed a place to stay. This was perfect, hot tub was a two seater, with 3 of us we were able to make it work. Beautiful place! Also went tubing it was fun!

Beautiful Idyllic Mountainside Stay

My partner and I came here to celebrate my birthday weekend with our dog and it was perfect. The place was beautiful and cozy. The setting was amazing. The hot tub was lovely and super well maintained. The host was super responsive and helpful. The beds were soft and cozy. Had lots of stuff to make our dog feel at home. Above all else the VIEW cannot be beat. A few words of advice - The road to the place is a narrow, uphill gravel road that was a bit tricky for my small car to get up. It managed the drive but if you have access to a bigger car, I recommend bringing it. the grocery store is 20 minutes away so don't forgot the essentials like milk and butter like we did. When we were staying there the listing had coffee and tea but not creamer or sugar, so don't forget it!

Perfection!

Such a cute cabin! Perfect place to spend a couple days away. This cabin had everything you could possibly need. Everything needed to cook with, games, puzzles, hot tub and outdoor space, I saw a yoga mat by the front door, binoculars and a telescope, dog toys, you name it… I was impressed! It rained almost non stop on us but we finally got a good glimpse of the view in the last day. Gorgeous! I would definitely stay here again.

A Beautiful Cottage

This cottage had everything we were looking for. Beautiful views, very clean and a wonderful outdoor setting. We loved the firepit and hot tub. The interior was very comfy as well. We loved just hanging out and watching movies. Thank you very much for this much needed getaway.

Perfect cozy cabin

Comfortable cabin with a great view. The cabin was beautifully decorated inside & out. Great communication on the property places to check out in the area. We climbed to Panther Top lookout for pictures, hiked a Piney Knob Creek & enjoyed some time by the water at Fires Creek Picnic area. Very close to great towns in North Carolina, Tennessee & Georgia for small shops & good food. We loved the brief visit from the neighbors dogs Cletus & Lucky. What a wonderful trip

Perfect peaceful getaway

We loved staying here! The view was incredible, a little steep drive getting here but worth it for the view. The house was perfect for our family, very clean and loved how it was decorated. Everything we could need was provided. The outdoor area was awesome, loved sitting on the deck and taking in the view. Also love the hot tub!! We would love to stay here again. This is one of my favorite properties we have ever stayed in!

The cabin looked just like the pictures and was well equipped to be fun and functional. It was clean, the hot tub was great, and it was a very peaceful and quiet place. The host was responsive and checking in was easy. There are quite a few rules while in the house and to checkout which was a bit annoying. Unfortunately, the power went out every time it rained for several hours. Some homes in the area had generators but not this cabin. Also, several of the neighbors had a Confederate flag or Trump 2024 signage which made us feel uneasy in the secluded area as a person of color. We went hiking on several trails near by and had a great time at the winery too.

Wonderful Experience!

Just perfect!

The listing is exactly as the property was. Beautiful inside and out! The last stretch to drive is for sure a gravel mountain road but it wasn't as bad as others I have experienced. The hot tub was great (2 person size) and the kitchen had good things stocked not typically found at a rental. The bathroom is very small but usable. Would stay here again for sure!

Nice Spot

Nice spot. Hosts were very communicative. The unit seemed very clean and appeared to be recently updated (Oct 2022). The place was also well stocked, with things like brooms, good kitchen utensils, cutting boards, etc that are often missing from other VRBOs I've stayed in. One word of warning, the location is up a pretty steep gravel road. If you have a AWD or 4X4 vehicle you'll want to use it.

Outstandingly peaceful

From communicating with the managers to every night on the porch, I absolutely loved this property. I had no issues with the check in, check out, or any questions I had with the managers. The road to get up to the cabin was a little concerning considering I drive a lowered sedan, but I was able to make it up fine, even with the rain. There was also random little items stocked up in case you forgot anything, coloring books and games for kids, and even little toys for pets. The only thing I would suggest was maybe dusting because a lot of the chairs and even the bed frame had spider webs on them, and I even killed three bigger spiders as well. However, the outdoor area was very cozy with the lights, fire, prepped hot tub, and convenient outdoor shower. The covered porch was my favorite because it rained so much during my stay. Perfect place to read, meditate, and destress from so many things. Would definitely recommend and come back again!
