    Privat men ändå nära alla bekvämligheter som Bear Paw har att erbjuda. Bear Paw Resort ligger i Smokey Mountains i North Carolina, och är det enda privata samhället dygnet runt på sjön Hiwassee. Bear Paw har många bekvämligheter som gör det till en fantastisk semesterplats. Sjön är omgiven av vackra berg med 163 miles av naturlig kustlinje och Nantahala National Forest. Det är där Blue Ridge Mountains möter "Smokies" ... också känd som "GOD'S LAND"
    Oavsett om det är fiske, bad, vattensporter eller bara åka runt sjön på en båt som njuter av skönheten ... Lake Hiwassee är platsen. Ta med din egen båt eller hyra en. Mountain View Marina ligger i Bear Paw Community och på gångavstånd.
    Bear Paw erbjuder många aktiviteter som gör det till en fantastisk semesterplats. Förutom sjöaktiviteterna finns också en pool i olympisk storlek, basketplaner vid paviljongen / klubbhuset, tennisbanor, träningsrum, barnens lekplats och en liten fångst och släpp fiskedamm. Alla ligger inom gångavstånd. Du behöver inte ladda upp i bilen ... det är bara ett stenkast bort.
    Denna bekväma semesterchalet erbjuder ... trägolv i hela huset samt centralvärme och luftkonditionering. För din njutning finns det böcker, spel, filmer, DVD-spelare, TV med Roku och Wi-Fi. Huvudnivån har ett öppet kök, matsal och vardagsrum som öppnar upp till ett rymligt däck. De två sovrummen (dubbelsängar i vardera) och 2 fulla badrum är på huvudnivån. Det öppna loftet (2 enkelsängar) öppnar upp till huvudnivån. Ned trapporna i lägre nivå finns det ett sovrum med våningssängar (drottning på botten, tvilling på toppen) & 1/2 badrum med full tvättmaskin och torktumlare.
    Det finns ett vardagsrum med en 60 "platt panel T. V., poolhistoria, ping-pongbord och öppnar upp till ett annat däck.
    Köket är fullt utrustat med spis, kylskåp, diskmaskin, mikrovågsugn, disk, grytor, kastruller och redskap. Allt du behöver för att förbereda en utsökt landsfrukost, romantisk middag eller högtid.
    Det finns en utomhus eldstad för att värma dig på de kyliga kvällarna eller samla barnen för en marshmallow eller wiener stek.
    Andas in den rena bergsluften och titta på kolibrierna matas när du kopplar av och njuter av ditt morgonkaffe ute på det rymliga däck. Samla familjen för ett utmanande spel "Corn Hole", eller eld upp grillen för lite vattnet grill.

Great location. The lake is gorgeous. Really great place to get away from it all. We enjoyed our stay there. We had 7 people in our company. Everyone had their own bedroom and bed. It can definitely be cleaner and more updated, but did the job for the price.

Bear Paw community was nice. Unfortunately, the swimming pool was closed all week due to minor flaws found on inspection, but my daughter did enjoy the playground. My son and his friend enjoyed the basketball courts. In the house, the pool and ping pong tables in the house were a nice addition. For the most part the host was attentive to my questions/concerns and did apologize for the inconveniences. Most my concerns were related to cleanliness and things in the house not working properly. Overall, we enjoyed Murphy, NC and the surrounding towns but I would not stay in this house again.

Enjoyed our stay in this well situated chalet. We especially appreciated the houses closeness to the communities playground and pavilion. The grandchildren really enjoyed that. The house also had all the amenities we needed for Thankgiving lunch.

The house was filthy when we checked in. The decks were unusable as they were dirty. You could not sit in the deck chairs. There were dead bugs in the living room and downstairs in the basement. My son got eat up from something while he was staying in the basement. He was covered from head to toe in bug bites. The community swimming pool was being renovated and was not working at all when we were there. The host charged extra after we left due to damages that had not occurred.

Enjoyable Mountain Cabin Getaway

Between 4 adults and two toddlers there was plenty of room. We enjoyed are stay and we appreciated the kitchen very much for preparing our thanksgiving dinner :). The internet was a little spotty but wasn’t too bad. I would certainly recommend a stay here.

The host was very responsive and very welcoming. The house is nice and open, and had ALL the utensils you would need for the kitchen (which is ALWAYS wonderful). I am a big bird watching person and it was WONDERFUL to be able to hang bird feeders on the porch and watch all the different birds come in. The park is right across the street and the grandkids loved it. Would have liked to see more things about the house, but the weather was SO cold so we could not, but maybe on another trip. The driveway is VERY steep, but it is not a huge issue. We went in the winter so of course the trees were all bare, but I would imagine it is just beautiful in the fall and summer!

This is a nice property and location. The cabin is roomy. The nature around is beautiful and neighbors were friendly. Communication with the owner worked well and timely. The kitchen is well equipped for most common needs and the laundry room is a plus. The marina has a good infrastructure. I would come back and definitely recommend the place.The game room is a great feature. It is in need of some care: New pingpong net and Billard gear as well as new light bulbs. There is no trash collection at the neighborhood so guests are expected to take the trash when leaving the property. Not a big deal but be aware to manage as needed.I had a pleasant stay with my adult children.

My Getaway

We loved the cabin and the layout of it. The inside was clean and well stocked with necessities except toilet paper. The decks & deck furniture were unfortunately in need of cleaning but my teens and I had a blast

Vacation

The house was clean and had everything we needed. The owner was was great to work with. The pool was nice and right across from the house. Everyone in the community was very nice. The only downside was there was no where to swim in the lake in the community unless you rented a boat.

Lake Hiwassee

Family and friends came up to stay for Memorial Day weekend. We had a group of 8 combined of adults, older and younger teens. Checked in late on Friday night and went to bed. Next day we discovered some issues that were quickly addressed and remedied by the owners. The house is comfortable and enjoyable. We greatly enjoyed our time out on the lake and it is a beautiful area. We would stay again!

Beautiful and perfect for us

The location matched our desire to spend time exploring close-by nature settings. The dam is intriguing. The community offers activities (basketball, volleyball, pond, more.) We brought our own kayaks and explored Lake Hiwassee- we felt like we had the lake to ourselves (early April). The house has ping pong and pool and dart board (bring your own darts), relaxing decks- perfect for our get away from everything. The house was clean, comfortable, had the space we needed and the kitchen set up was perfect.

Our second memorable vacation in an AMAZING cabin!

This was our second time staying here for the holidays. We love EVERYTHING about this cabin. Excellent communication & customer service provided by the host, Debbi. We kept busy with ping pong, pool & board games. The cabin was warm & cozy when the outside temperature went down into the 20’s. We got to see several deer on the property & in an empty wooded lot next door. Very safe & quiet community. Enjoyed downtown Blue Ridge & Mercier Orchards, as well as snow tubing and the mountain coaster at Highlands Outpost (a MUST if you have kids or teens). We HIGHLY recommend Hideaway Chalet at Bear Paw!

Host was very nice. Check-in was easy. Rain was forecast, so chose to stay here because of the indoor pool table and ping pong table. The place was not clean. Planned to grill for two meals, but when we tried to use the grill on the porch there were 5 mice running around directly under the grate and had built a nest that towered up to the grate. So I moved supper to the kitchen oven, but it was filthy on the inside. Tried to use a measuring cup, but it had 2 long-dead bugs in the bottom of it. The other measuring cup had a strange powder in it. The inside shower curtain in the master bath had mold growing on it (though the rest of bathroom was clean). The pool table was unusable because the pool sticks were missing tips and there were no replacement tips. The ping pong net is messed up, but was somewhat usable. The tennis court, which is maintained by the resort, is not usable because tall grass is growing all up in cracks on the court. Looks long unused. The pool, also maintained by the resort, was closed for remodeling. We were very disappointed that so many of the listed amenities were not usable. Upon checkout, you have to haul your trash 7 1/2 miles down the road to a county site. When we arrived, they were closed for Memorial Day which meant we had to ride home with 4 kitchen size bags of trash for 6 hrs. This was 3 days of trash for a family of 6. On the positive, the marina and lake were great.

Good, but needs some upkeep

This cabin is located in the relatively remote Bear Paw community. We liked the ambience of it and the cute bear decor. It is right next door to the very nice community sports center / pool. Our boys really loved fishing in the well stocked pond nearby. The wifi worked OK, but be advised that cell service (Verizon) is zero in this area, so get your GPS directions before leaving the cabin. This property has some deferred maintenance that was apparent when we arrived. Some of the lights were missing bulbs, and one of the patio doors was frosted over. We also found evidence of some mice in the kitchen. There was a few drops of water coming through the basement bathroom ceiling presumably from the 1st floor bathroom drain.
