âHotel Cassendra was a real find. The staff were so lovely and really couldn't do enough to make my stay more pleasant. No question or request was too great or small for them. It is up a steep hill so.wpuld make quite a hike from Kandy but its maybe 300 rupees in a tuk tuk to get up. Very easy to walk down into Kandy however, and it also passes the viewpoint. When you get to the Royal park, there is a lane to the right of it and that ia a handy shortcut into town. It's honesly only a 10min walk....

âThis is a nice little hotel in a great location. Our room was large and comfortable. Things were clean and the staff was very accommodating.
Breakfast was good. And you have your choice of a western breakfast or a Sri Lankan breakfast.â

âWe had the most wonderful stay at the Coffee Bungalow. The building, which has been beautifully restored and appointed, sits in arguably the best location above Kandy and the warm and elegant hospitality was memorable. We cannot recommend more highly! I was shocked to see a negative review in my name which most definitely did not come from me. Beware of hacks. â

"We enjoyed staying at the hotel very much . The terrace with the pool, bar and restaurant was wonderful. The breakfast was nice and we also had grill buffet in the restaurant. All the staff were so friendly and helpful.

"Hotel was fine but we were hugely over charged for our room compared to what our children and partners paid for their rooms - such a huge difference in price for 2 different room categories. We paid 350 usd for 2 nights for massive room which we didnât need and no breakfast and the other 2 double rooms which were very nice only cost 150 usd for 2 nights including breakfast which was a much better deal. On asking the hotel to move us to a double room they refused this although we saw on the internet that there was availability and at a much reduced price compared to what we paid. We felt cheated with the price we had to pay for our room and would definitely not recommend people to book the room for 4 people if only 2 need a bed. Otherwise the pool area was nice and double rooms were good standard. Hotel seemed to be empty apart from us which is another reason we cannot understand why we had to have such a huge and expensive room. Breakfast was not very nice at all although the staff did their best. We think everything was done in a microwave. Will definitely not be going back to this hotel ! If only they could have shown some goodwill . "
