We've been coming here for several years and this year was no different than the past. We had an excellent stay. Jeff and the gang bend over backwards to make your stay the best it can be. Place was clean and if you ever need anything, Jeff or whoever will get it for you.

We stayed in the cottage with 1 queen bdrm and 1 double bdrm on ground floor. The floor had some serious issues. First, the floating floor was bubbled up showing signs of water damage from kitchen to lvrm. The floor at refrigerator was so weak that due to our weight it began to sink down way down and felt like our foot would go thru. The washing machine was out of order and knats were coming out of it. The microwave start button would mot work so you have to use popcorn button to use it. I spoke to management and gentlan was very nice. He stated that the property was owned by hotel acrossed street they just managed it and they have been trying to get them to come and look at it. Good location and would have been great if remodeled. Staff were very nice.

This was an amazing start to our summer. Cute, cosy cottages. All the amenities you need for a weeklong trip to the beach. Even a grill! Lots of beach toys and pool floaties to share. And one block from the beach! Amazing location. Can’t be beat! The staff were all so helpful. Highly recommend! We plan to come back again!

My teenage daughter and I had THE BEST experience with Darlington cottages. Our plane arrived late, too late for check-in. The staff stayed in touch with me the whole time in order to help me locate my cottage and my key when I arrived. The flip flop cottage was the perfect size for my daughter and I. Spacious, comfortable, cozy, everything that you would want from a beach front cottage. Jeff Usher, the owner, was so accommodating, so friendly, and led us to the right places to dine. This is the only place that I will stay when I come back to Myrtle Beach.

The property owners are very kind and communicative. The property is in excellent location / walking distance to the the beach. It was quiet, parking close and plenty of it. Pool was fine. The cottage was cute and well decorated. Linens were good. No shampoo/conditioner/body wash but we brought our own! Cottage is definitely outdated but from 1940s. Floors caving a little bit, microwave handle broken, bathroom pretty small, but for the cost and location and a quick weekend getaway, it was exactly what we expected.

We stayed in a small 1 BD cottage. Although small, it had everything we needed. We loved the front porch with rocking chairs. The pool at the inn is exceptionally clean and the beach and boardwalk are within 5 minutes of walking. They even provided us with umbrella, chair and beach toys. Would stay again.

Professional and courteous staff, affordable stay, the cottage was clean and had everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Comfortable bedding, plenty of space to not feel cooped up like you do in a hotel. Feels like spending a weekend in a vacation home. The yard space was great for kids to play when we weren’t out and about. There are yard games out there but the tree swing was where the kiddos spent their time. All in highly recommend and will be my go to for all future Myrtle beach trips.

Had a wonderful stay at the Darlington. Staff was amazing and super friendly. Right across the street from the Boardwalk, the beach and fishing pier with restaurant. The cottage we stayed in was built in the 1940’s and was very cute and comfortable. This is a local family run business and they take pride in what they do. If you want a high rise, high end resort this isn’t the place for you. But if you want a cozy, CLEAN, mom and pop where they will treat you like family, then you’ll love it. We will definitely make the Darlington our go to when in MB!

Don’t stay here!!

The owner was friendly, but the cottage itself was horrible. The fridge and freezer didn’t work. We lost over $100 in groceries. When we talked to the owner, he made excuses that our food wasn’t cold enough when we put it in the fridge. We came right from the grocery store and our ice cream literally turned to soup overnight in the freezer! The washer only worked on the smallest load setting. The beds were as hard as a rock. We killed 4 cockroaches and the place really needs a deep cleaning!! The toilet roll holder was broken, the towel rack was pure rust, the bath tub drain backed up every time we showered, and there was a live animal living under the floor making a lot of noise, which we also mentioned to the owner, who just confirmed that there was a lot of wild life around. The living room furniture was stained and dirty. The location was amazing. Other than that, a really disappointing stay. Please spend your money elsewhere.

Management was great very good communication. Was in walking distance to pier and beach could walk to almost anything we wanted to do. Cottage was spacious for family.

The property is old with minimum upkeep. Front door deadbolt and knob are worn to the point where the door moved 3/8 inch when locks are engaged. Several old locks are still installed in door. Entire door and frame needs to be replaced. Bathtub is too high to enter/exit comfortably and more water comes out of faucet than showerhead. Second bathroom shower is really small.

Sea Gables Cottage - truly delightful! With great pleasure, we hereby declare Darlington Cottages as our 1st choice for our eventual return to Myrtle Beach! My wife, our two kids and I just finished a 6-night stay at Darlington's Sea Gables Cottage from 7/27 - 8/2. Darlington Motel and Cottages consists of a small 4-story motel plus several cottages on the adjacent lot across the street. The Darlington property is owned/operated by a family who takes pleasure in making visitors feel welcome and comfortable. The owners were courteous, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Sea Gables Cottage is a stand alone cottage and served as our home away from home. The cottage has aged a few decades yet it's both spacious and cozy with superior climate controls (yes - central air) and two (2) full bathrooms. My family of 4 had more than enough room to co-exist as a group and individual down time. Sea Gables has a wrap-around front porch and a nice yard w/ tree swing, outdoor games and even an outdoor shower attached to our cottage. There is one (1) very well maintained outdoor swimming pool optimally located along Ocean Blvd. We cannot speak for the other cottages on-site or motel rooms but Sea Gables Cottage is a true gem. My family and I have zero complaints and look forward to a future stay with Darlington. Major compliments to the accommodations and staff!
