Charming & comfortable weekend away
Lynsey’s spot is on a quiet block but close to all Mystic has to offer. We loved being able to walk into downtown Mystic for food and shopping. It was also an easy walk to the Seaport Museum. The house was comfortable, clean and well appointed. The instructions to access the house were clear, and it was nice that there was parking available. The linens/bedding was nice - not a huge thing for me usually but something I noticed and appreciated. The host left some complimentary cider for us to try which was a nice touch :) Would stay here again and recommend to others looking to spend time in the area.

Location location location
We moved from Connecticut a few years ago but were returning to Mystic for a wedding. We wanted to be among the wedding guests in downtown Mystic but did not want to drive and park each day. This charming home was just perfect for two of us. It is old and historic, but has all the modern conveniences needed for a home away from home. It is literally steps from restaurants, the drawbridge and the beauty of the Mystic River. We would stay again.

Anniversary getaway
The apartment was very nice, clean and very well stocked. The owner is very quick to respond to our questions. Lynsey even left for us the complimentary wine and cider from local Tapped Apple winery. Both were very delicious!!! Overall, we had a great stay at this historic 1839 house.

Perfect family vacation
This was our first vacation as a family of 3 and this was the perfect experience. My child is 18 months old and I love that the house was cozy, accommodating for a young child, and clean. You could not beat the location either as a lot of attractions, shopping, and restaurants were within walking distance and other attractions such as the aquarium were a quick drive. We had a comfortable and fun stay. The host was very communicative and welcoming. I would definitely recommend.

Look no further!
I have nothing but positive things to stay about my trip and experience at the property and with the host. Very responsive, easy to follow details, perfect space and incredible location in the heart of downtown with the abilityt to walk anywhere you needed. Highly recommend staying here!

Historic charm, perfect location
Our little family of four enjoyed a spring break weekend getaway at this lovely historic home. The location was perfect, we walked just about everywhere. The Engine Room and Lis’ Bakery were both great and right around the corner. The home was just big enough for us, and was clean, comfortable, welcoming, and stocked with all the essentials —as listed. Host was lovely as well. We had a great time!

Wonderful!
The place was absolutely adorable! Everything was cleaned organized. Lynsey provided us with a pack and play, high chair and swing for our 9 month old daughter which made packing for us SO MUCH easier! Communication was easy and prompt! We absolutely loved the personal touches like the chalkboard note greeting us in the kitchen, a cider beer and bottle of rosé from their friend’s distillery, and the binder and journal that provided every bit of information needed for the house and the area, plus a place to write a quick journal entry about your stay! And the location was perfect to everything we loved being able to walk everywhere. We couldn’t have been more thrilled with our first trip to Mystic for our very first family getaway! Would definitely recommend staying and we hope to be able to plan to stay again in the future!

Wonderful Memories!
We had a wonderful time in Mystic…the house was a perfect size for me and my son (17 years old) and in a great location. It’s conveniently located near all the shops, restaurants, ice cream parlors, and a short drive to the Mystic Aquarium and more shops. Perfect Stay in a Perfect Location
Lynsey's place is a wonderful place to spend some time when visiting Mystic, as my fiancé and I did for Memorial Day Weekend. Can't ask for a better location for a quick walk to shops, restaurants, etc. And there is more than enough space throughout to relax. Everything is as advertised and we'd absolutely look to stay here again.

I would highly recommend this property. On a quiet side street but easy walk to downtown, drawbridge and restaurants. It also has a dedicated parking spot. Would absolutely stay here again if coming to Mystic.

This is just a great house. It is historic, but has all of the amenities for a fantastic stay. And the location is just perfect. You can be out the door and right in the heart of downtown Mystic with a 90-second walk. But it is just off a little side street, so it is quiet and secluded, even though it is so close to everything.

The perfect size and location!
My family of three enjoyed a week at this adorable property. This house has all of the charms of an older property, but the modern comforts most people come to expect. The reservation process was very easy and the communication was timely and comprehensive. The absolute best thing about this property is the location - everything is easily accessibly with short walks to the downtown area, close-by restaurants, and a short drive to anything else you might need. I highly recommend this property and will definitely be booking for our next trip to Mystic!

Absolutely Wonderful
Absolutely wonderful experience. Lynsey's property was everything we wanted and more. The house was clean, with all the amenities we could have desired, plus a number of personal touches that made our stay even better. We particularly enjoyed eating breakfast every morning in the sunshine on the back deck. The property is in close proximity to virtually everything in town, and lynsey provided great recommendations!

My husband and I stayed with our 1 year old baby and had a great time! Excellent location to walking to downtown Mystic. Playground nearby. Our daughter loved walking up and down the accessible ramp and exploring the yard. Lynsey was very responsive! Thank you!

A perfect place for couples or small families to stay in downtown Mystic.
Exactly what we needed for a week-long visit in Mystic. Walkable to everything, quiet, and stocked with all you need for a relaxing stay. We especially appreciated the beach mats / towels / chairs, and the in-house laundry. Great communication with owners, a very useful user guide to the place, absolutely no issues or concerns. Perfect Spot
Clean and comfy, perfect location for walking to the drawbridge and Seaport. Pack and play and kids toys were great to have. Loved having breakfast on the back porch each morning. We were a bit worried that our child could knock over the living room air conditioner but we were able to keep their attention else ware.

Absolutely perfect property for young family!
We came to Mystic because we were looking for a seaside vacation town and love a good aquarium. While we were excited to visit both the aquarium and the seaport and did enjoy them, we really had the best time just exploring the town from our perfect location. There is a wonderful public playground within easy walking distance (with a four and almost three year old) without even using a stroller. Great kid friendly restaurants are also an easy walk away. There is an amazing butcher shop/restaurant just two blocks from the house and we picked up food there to grill at home on the deck a couple times during our stay. The fenced backyard is the perfect size and the kids played in it every day of our stay. Lynsey has the kitchen stocked with kid safe cutlery and plate ware. Although we didn’t need them I appreciated that she also had a stroller and play yard available for families with younger children. She even provides a beach umbrella and sand toys, which we used for a relaxing morning at the local public beach! Lynsey’s home is comfortable, clean, and she provides thoughtful amenities. She was incredibly prompt in responding to any questions we had about our stay. I can’t say enough about the unbeatable location close to all the action, but tucked away in a quiet section of town. We loved the property and enjoyed our vacation in Mystic even more because we stayed there.

This was our fourth stay at this property and we were not disappointed. Lynsey goes out of her way to be sure the home is clean and fully stocked with all the things you need. The location is perfect; you can walk to all the downtown stores and restaurants.

Great and friendly historic New England house
This house is a real gem and all we hoped for on our trip to New England. It is furnished very tastefully and has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The owners thought about everything you might need, like beach toys for the children or some extra toothbrushes in case you forgot yours. Our kids also loved to play in the garden. The house is located very conveniently in short walking distance to the center of the town, restaurants and shops. At the same time it is very quiet and calm in the street. Perfect "Home" While on Vacation
We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation this summer (2017) in your wonderful historic home from June 3rd to the 10th. It was fun staying in a home built in 1839, but with all the conveniences of 2017. It was not warm enough to turn on the a/c unit, but the ceiling fans (3 of them) kept the air moving around. We enjoyed your beautiful deck, grill, and yard, and the wonderful fragrance from that shrub on the front corner of your home. I loved all the windows and how bright and homey the apartment felt. We must say, we have never stayed in any rental property that was filled with more supplies than your home. You have given so much thought to the comfort of those who rent your property. It was a joy to return each day after all our travels. We visited the Seaport Museum, Aquarium, Pequot Museum on the Foxwoods property, the Nautilus at Groton and took a boat ride on Friday afternoon. Each of those locations is anywhere between 5 minutes to 25 minutes away - a short drive. We walked to S & P Oyster Company - a wonderful restaurant . We would like to return again sometime to enjoy walking around and looking at more of the historic homes and some sights we missed. Whenever we return, we will hope to stay at A Family Heirloom once again. And, the next time, we will visit Abbott's for lobster in the rough and Costello's Clam Shack over in the village of Noank. And by the way, Mystic Pizza really is great!! Thank you for everything and take care, Rich and Joyce.

Precious beach house.
We just loved this house! It had such a beachy vibe and was just the perfect accommodations for our getaway. Lynsey was super helpful and the house was stocked with anything we could have ever needed. I don't have anything negative to say about it! We came in on the train and it is a walkable distance from the train station and most of the sites are walkable from the house as well. We will definitely be back.

We have stayed at several locations in Mystic and this is definitely the best. This home has all the amenities you will need for a comfortable stay. You can walk to all the shops and restaurants downtown. Lynsey, the owner, is very gracious and responds quickly to your questions and requests.

Charming home with everything you need
This home was well equipped and extremely comfortable. The pull out sofa bed was perfect for our two children. The kitchen had everything we needed (especially the Keurig coffee maker 😀) Our children loved exploring the backyard and playing on the patio. The house was in walking distance of many cafes, restaurants, shopping, and a nice playground for our children. Thanks again Lynsey!

Return visit every bit as perfect as the first!
We stayed at this home two years ago for our son's wedding and had a wonderful experience. So when we received an invitation for another Mystic wedding we knew immediately where we would be staying. Only this time we extended our stay for an extra day because we had such a great first time visit. The house lived up to our expectations and then some! The same attention to details and comfort plus a new sofa-bed in the living room. My daughter and I were able to walk to the nail spa and the salon at the end of the block did our hair. Everything was perfect!
We were so incredibly pleased with this rental. We rented it for the weekend of our wedding. I stayed in it with my sister the night before the wedding. My groom and I stayed in it the night of the wedding. And we hosted our brunch here the morning after the wedding. It was absolutely perfect for us!!

By far the best place we have ever stayed!
We spent three weeks in this beautiful historic home right in the heart of downtown Mystic. The pictures don't do it justice - it is larger than it looks. It was so comfortable and it had EVERYTHING you could ever need or want. Lynsey has thought of it all. It is beautifully furnished and very clean and bright. You feel like you are in your own home. It was the perfect base for us as we were visiting our four children and our grandchildren who all live within ten minutes of Mystic. We had lived in Mystic before relocating to Florida so it was good to be back on the Mystic river - there is no place else like it! We have recommended this place to several people and our son has also given your web site to a couple of friends that are interested in the area. We look forward to returning next year! Perfect!
We loved our visit to Mystic, and especially this amazing home. What a perfect place to stay with a small family. Drinking our coffee on the back deck, while hearing the birds chirping, was a highlight. Peaceful and charming. The hospitality was beyond compare. Can't wait to come back some day!!
