âThis was the best hotel during our 2 week trip to Sri Lanka. Why it was so good was that first of all it is small and very excluded. You are right at the beach with a big pool but still never bothered by anyone. We had a pool room which was very big and comfortable (very good Bed). Every day there was figures made out of towels on our bed and everything was super clean.
And then the food... you are served a la carte breakfast right outside of your room and everything is so tasty! In the end,...

âWe had a wonderful stay here. The girl in traditional clothes in the reception was so friendly. Breakfast was a bit of a dissapointment, so I would recommend to eat it at any of the close by coffe shops that had amazing breakfast and also for a better price. â

âWe booked and paid via hotel.com BUT when we arrived the manager explained Expedia instructed him to charge us for the room. We spent 2 hours chatting with hotels.com whereby they promised to refund us, so we also paid cash (so double) while waiting for hotels.com to refund us. BUT we now received a email explaining they could NOT get in contact with hotel and will NOT REFUND us! â
âWe took the train from Colombo to Hikkaduwa, and then took a tuk-tuk to our hotel. The taxi only cost 300 Rupees, but if you're feeling adventurous it can be walked on either the road or along the beach in under an hour. The hotel is small with only 4 rooms, but is perfect for someone looking for a quiet and relaxing stay. It is located at the end of Hikkaduwa beach, so there are not many people around.

âThe owner/host and housekeeping staff were very friendly and nice to talk to. They can arrange tuk tuk for the guests and home style food was so delicous. Due to its location, guests will need to have insects repellent spray applied at all time. Overall very nice stay at villa birdlake. â
