When we booked the trip with Expedia, there was a $41.64 resort fee charge due to the hotel at check-in. We have stayed there many times before and knew this. When we arrived and checked in, the young lady was less than pleasant to work with. I felt the need to check the charges through my online banking, and I was charged 104.98. When I asked why it was 62.00 more than what was printed out on Expedia, she stated that it was for hotel amenities like WiFi, parking, buffet style breakfast. She listed off everything that was listed as free or complimentary on the website. I asked for a detailed statement of all charges and exactly what I was being charged for each item, and she refused. She said she would have the property manager call us to explain. Meanwhile, I was in touch with Expedia. The agent placed me on a brief hold, got a hold of the property manager and let them know that it was dishonest to report something as free on the listing and then charge the customer a considerable amount. The property manager told the agent that it was a glitch in their system and that’s why I was overcharged and they would refund me the difference of 62.00 by the morning. Which they did. However at checkout, I was reminded again that the charge was due to amenities, so think about that for future bookings. This was such a lovely place to stay, but we will never stay here again.
