The cottage boasts 2 comfortable bedrooms, comfortable living spaces, and a spacious kitchen. Traveling is a breeze when you stay with us as the lodge is fully equipped with great amenities. Property offers a shared hot tub (with Bed & Breakfast guests) and great quality time. State Parks, lakes, canoe & kayaking, ziplining and so much more all located within a short distance from the property.
    This vacation home is perfect for guests visiting the Hocking Hills area or guests visiting students at Hocking College or Ohio University. The Carriage House offers living room and dining area, full kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. This home built on a historic carriage garage has beautifully restored hardwood floors and original tiger oak wood trim throughout the home. This classic home is a perfect retreat nestled in Nelsonville, Ohio.

    Take a 30 minute drive from your vacation home to visit Old Man’s Cave, Cedar Falls, Ash Cave, Rock House, Conkle’s Hollow, or Rock Bridge located in Hocking Hills State Park. No matter the season, you and your guests won’t be disappointed when visiting all the beauty Hocking Hills offers!

    The Carriage House is located in Nelsonville and 5 miles from Wayne National Forest. The State Park offers thousands of acres to explore by hiking, off highway vehicle riding, mountain biking, or horseback riding. When in town, guests will want to visit Nelsonville’s Historic Square Arts District, Stuart’s Opera House, Hocking Valley Scenic Railway, or the Nelsonville Music Festival that is held every year at Hocking College. 15 miles from the cabin, guests will run into Lake Hope State Park located in Zaleski State Forest. Guests can enjoy some fine dining at Lake Hope Lodge or a day of picnicking and swimming with family and friends.

Didn't like having to go get a key down the road and dropping it off after visit. Should tell visiters they are sharing the parking lot with ours. There was dog hair in our bed. The place was nice and it was very nice to have a garage to park in.

Out stay at this property was great! Place was super clean and everyone was very friendly! The house itself is super nice on the inside, very charming with all the wood paneling. Only thing I will say is that the mattress on the first floor was a little worn but overall this stay was Amazing!

Perfect Bike Trail Access

We were here primarily for a biking experience and it did not disappoint. Quiet, clean , very nice space. We cooked some of our meals and ate at some local places for others. It was nice to be able to walk or bike to the places we wanted to go. It was a bonus to have a garage to park our bikes and car in.

The place was clean and comfortable - a great location for a wonderful visit to the Hocking Hills area with family! There were plenty of recommendations about things to do and places to eat, many of which we took advantage of. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had what we needed. The listing stated that there was a washer and dryer but there were not. The hosts stated that this was an error in the listing which would be fixed. The only other issue we had was the water heater that went out while one of us was showering. But it was working again the next day, so not a major issue. In all, we’d definitely consider staying here again the next time we’re in the area!

Hocking Hills experience

The property was just as the pictures stated it was. Just a few minor things that need to be addressed like the locks needs to be fixed or changed, and the door leading upstairs has a gash at the top of it like it’s been hit. No washer/dryer in the place. But very nice spot to relax. Would stay here again.

Cozy and peaceful

Loved our stay at the Carriage House! It was so pretty, clean, cozy, and just right for a long weekend mother daughter trip! The only thing I would suggest for future guests is to add the hot tub is shared between the properties. We did not feel comfortable going to the other house to access it as it was so close to the other home. We appreciated the quick response and assistance to access hot water, along with the follow up the next morning. Thank you so much!

Lovely

The property was very nice and clean. Very accurate according to the photos and description. Didn't have that musty smell. I would stay here again. The check-in woman was VERY friendly. She informed us of all the local hot spots and trails that were her favorites, etc. I wasn't expecting that, so it was a pleasant surprise.

Beautiful spot. Little hard to find.

Our cottage was beautiful. Loved the rose petals on the bed. Wife loved it. Only complaint would be that it was a little hard to find at first. Also, we couldn't get the jacuzzi jets to work. (Although that could have just been due to our lack of knowledge about Jacuzzis)

Nestled in Nelsonville

Property was exactly how it was listed. Pretty quite for location being in town and behind a Bed and Breakfast. Very clean! Only reason I did not give it a five start rating was because hot tub and parking are shared with the Bed and Breakfast. Little walk to hot tub and If you book a weekend where they are busy you might not get to park by the house. Have to park on the street and walk back the driveway because Bed and Breakfast guest take up the parking.

Overall satisfactory with a few disappointments

We enjoyed our stay. We were disappointed by the hot tub, slightly dirty with some broken features. The clamp holding up the shower head in one of the bathrooms was broken. A couple things on the listing amenities are not available. So a touch of false advertising we felt. But overall we did have a nice stay and made the most of it.

Great little home for a getaway

Our daughter picked this cute little place to spend her 21st birthday. Nice place. Very accommodating. Only thing, if you run hot, this might not be the place for you. Only window air conditioners and in 90 degree heat, it doesn’t do well. Oh and the locks on both doors weren’t very stable. Kept messing up and wouldn’t line up. But in this great state, we can carry. So I wasn’t too worried.
