When we first got to our Sonder, it was open and clean. They charge for early check in and to hold bags until your room is open, but both are convenient options. First night was great, however, when we woke up my son was bitten up by bedbugs from sleeping on the pull out sofa! There were no signs of bedbugs when we first arrived so whether they are from another room or the last visitor, who knows. We were moved to a new roomed. The next room seemed to be the room where broken equipment were stored. The full fridge was broken (we had already bought groceries the night before) and there was only a mini fridge with a broken door. The ac does not work in the living room/bathroom/ hallways, when you would walk in it would be tangibly hot. The pull out sofa that my son was supposed to sleep on was broken, which since the ac was not working efficiently, we were not gonna make him sleep out there anyways. The cabinets were broken as well. When we reported these issues, we were told no other rooms were available. I wish we cut our losses and left. A couple nights later, I was laying on the couch and lo and behold, I was bitten a couple times.
The refund was only $135 (nowhere close what we paid) which at this point I’m more concerned about bringing home bed bugs than the money.
The rooms we stayed in were 817 and 1002 for those who still may book here, would hate with someone with children, or anyone else for that matter, to experience this like we did :(
