Amazing house
This house is a vacation heaven. We enjoyed it very much. Morning coffee by the water was so relaxing. We fished, swam in the pool, played games, explored Slidel, went to lake Pontchartrain and swamps. There is so much to do in the area and the house was the icing on the cake. Thank you so much, Rick for sharing your house with us. Loved every minute of it!

New Orleans Visit
We had a wonderful visit. The pool and game rooms were great fun. The house was very clean and comfortable. Rick gave us advice on local restaurants and clubs. We highly recommend this rental.

Family get together in old neighborhood
We used to live across the bayou and this was the perfect place for us! So convenient to our old stomping grounds and friends! The outdoor area downstairs is the perfect place to visit and we all had a great time! I would definitely stay here again!

Cajun Paradise!
This place is spectacular and Rick is the best! I highly recommend staying here! We did 11 days and had amazing food, experienced the Slidell Mardi Gras parades, swam in the pool, played pool almost every day, and experienced many other adventures too numerous to list here not to mention hanging out in the Quarter in N’awlins, which frankly was not even necessary to call this trip a success. Thanx Rick! Can’t wait to book this place again!!

Canal Front
Great heated pool for the family. Quiet location. Friendly neighbors. Close to train tracks but not disruptive. Only issue was projection TV was dependent upon wifi and so only saw 1/3 of any program regardless of channel. Host gave us tips but they were short-lived. Enjoyed our stay.

Highly Overpriced!
Not worth the price at all. The house needs a manual to operate TVs, surround sound, air/heat thermostat, and pool heater. House temp was 81 upon arrival. Even after setting thermostat to 60, it would mysteriously go to 65 as if being controlled remotely. Temp in house never got below a stagnant 71; no ceiling fans in inside areas (bedroom & outside only) Downstairs 'theater' did not have any cable/DVD/Roku; completely useless. Host said it was only used for his kid's XBox. Since projector is mounted to ceiling, hooking up my nephew's PS4 was very difficult as long cords were required for HDMI and power supply. Even then, we couldn't get sound and picture quality was horrible. Insufficient lighting over shuffleboard; couldn't see to play. Pool is a kiddie pool; very shallow and not that big (picture showed basketball net for pool play but was not there.) Pool was extremely cold upon arrival. After several complaints & pool guy making adjustments, it still felt about 60-65 at most. Grill in pictures was also not available (host offered $100 towards the purchase of more suitable grill {certainly not like the rather expensive one pictured} but better than the pathetic portable one provided. Not wanting to spend my vacation assembling a grill (with no tools,) we agreed on an extra night's stay; no charge. Host should mention the train tracks that are located just across the road; very noisy, especially at night. Days after checking out, the host asks if we removed inventory (alcohol) from a mini fridge in the kitchen area. Didn't appreciate the accusation, and regretted not taking photos of 'house inventory' upon arrival & departure. Good fishing (catfish, bream, gar, turtles,) great mattresses & awesome pool table. Terrible stay overall for what we paid. Will NEVER stay there again!

This guest wanted everything for nothing. They damaged property and we had missing items upon their departure. I would not rent to this guest in the future. I did my best to accommodate and make their stay enjoyable. I do have photos of prior to arrival and after departure. I still don't understand why they requested to stay an extra night which I agreed to for free in a place that made them so unhappy.

What a fabulous property, the pictures don’t do it justice!
We spent thanksgiving here with outlet family of 7 and had more than enough room and space. The downstairs is a super fun party room with lots of games and vibe. The pool was especially nice after a long day sightseeing. Neighborhood is a little iffy, but nothing too bad. Highly recommended this place!!

Bayou Trip
The pictures and descriptions are spot on! Communication with the owner was always helpful and with very little delay. We especially loved just hanging out downstairs and relaxing with our friends. Slidell is a nice community and with some great restaurants. We would definitely recommend this VRBO and would love to go back again at some point.

just what we needed for a family vacation
it was just right for us. We as family living in different states stayed here so we didn't have to go anywhere if we didn't want to. We swam and played pool and games. only went to the grocery store. we visited and played was so much fun. Thank you!

More than we expected and we had a great time
We had a wonderful time at the property. The owner went above and beyond with communication and helping us get settled. It is a unique house located on a quiet canal that gives access to Lake Pontchatrain. A large boat slip is available and only 1.5 miles away from the boat launch and gas. The home is close to EVERYTHING. The neighbors were very nice and overall pretty quiet. The downstairs bar area is awesome. It’s a perfect summer getaway for water sports, swimming, lounging around or whatever you want to do. We will definitely be back!

Louisiana Vacation Trip
The home and outside entertainment area were very nice and the kids really enjoyed it. For the most part the home was very clean and well maintained. The only issues I had were with the owner communication regarding the pool heater which I sent him a message near the beginning of the trip and did not hear back until the night before we left. The pool pump did not appear to be running very often or at all so the pool was not very clean. We had issues on 3 occasions with roach like bugs in the house or the covered entry way into the back of the home. The other issue would be to make sure you bring your own utensils and pans to grill out in the backyard. Lastly, the webcam that is pointed at the pool area in the backyard was a little odd to me. Otherwise, great trip and a great time.

Relaxing but Fun!
We had a great time! Plenty to enjoy in this little gem! Had some issues trying to figure out how to heat the pool but the owner was in great communication with us and super helpful! There was plenty of other amenities we enjoyed so overall we had a great time!

Family and Friends Getaway
Property was exactly as listed. We had a little trouble figuring out the Remotes to the TVs and how to turn on the Heat to the Pool, but I contacted the owner and he was very prompt and thorough. Property close to city center, so easy access to whatever you need or want to do. Neighborhood was very quiet. Would stay again!!!

Entertainer’s Dream
This home is an entertainer’s dream! The beds were all comfortable and rooms good size. The shower in the master is great!! The pool table is awesome!! With the guidance of our host, Rick, we were able to heat the pool to a very comfortable temperature. Rick was very accessible and answered any questions or concerns that we had. Things to note: There are no seasoning, condiments, foil or plastic wrap. We bought and left salt/pepper and cooking spray. We also ran out of and bought paper towels and toilet paper. The projector tv in the main room is a bit tricky to operate but looks and sounds amazing. There is a train that runs behind the houses that are directly across the street. Our first night there it more than startled us. It’s very loud. The distance into New Orleans was too much for us but we were pleasantly surprised with a Slidell carnival parade that had all the fanfare of the ones in New Orleans but more family friendly and personal. The parade was in walking distance from the house. We had a great family vacation.
