Really convenient location, well equipped, clean, and spacious apartment. Only thing to know is that the main bedroom doesn't have a door.

Thom was very quick to respond and getting into the brownstone was very easy and directions were very clear. The location cannot be beat with the subway station right there and blocks and blocks of great shops and restaurants we went to the zoo at Prospect Park and were pleasantly surprised! You can rent bikes on every corner of the park.Apartment is charming and homie with comfortable beds and bedding. You won’t be disappointed with this place!

My host never communicated (and still hasn't) about access to the property. We had to stay in an airport hotel and make other reservations. I can't believe this happened. I communicated with your staff who were apologetic and helpful. I can't believe this host would have done something so irresponsible.

The host ghosted us. I was in communication with him two days prior to arrival. 4pm came the day of check in and I did not have an access code for the property. Calls and messages were not answered. I had to use VRBOCare to get a refund and find a hotel. The location and size of the hotel room were not nearly as good as the apartment would have been. Do not rely on this host when planning a Brooklyn stay!

This review is based on not staying here. Communication between owner was not great. I had to be the one to reach out days in advance for location address. I also reached out at noon the day of for check-in code information only to be told two hours later at 2 PM with a 4 PM check-in that there was a leak in the bathroom and the stay was being canceled on us. I’m not sure why the property was not checked prior to four hours before check-in. Had to call Vrbo with a 45 minute phone call while they tried to get in touch with owner, but were unsuccessful as he didn’t answer. At least Vrbo refunded the property and helped to book a new one. A lot of hassle and stress as we were not just there for fun, we were there to run the New York City half marathon.

Former New Yorker here, now living up in the Finger Lakes. We came into the city for a few days with my husband, our two college-age daughters, and my 80-year-old mother. The elevator was a huge help for her and made the stay much more comfortable.We booked this property for its unbeatable location and walkability to the Brooklyn Museum, Botanical Gardens, Prospect Park, great restaurants, music, and more. Public transportation is close and easy to navigate.The neighborhood is safe, welcoming, and refreshingly authentic—not pretentious or overly polished. You’ll find incredible food just steps away: Caribbean, Mexican, Thai, Korean, Guatemalan, French, and Italian spots all within a short walk. We even popped into Fiona’s Bar around the corner for a pint, chatted with locals, listened to music, and watched football. It felt like being part of the neighborhood.Thomas, our host, was responsive and easy to communicate with. The apartment was clean and comfortable. This is a classic New York apartment in an older building, so expect some vintage quirks: a smaller trapezoid-shaped bathroom with an older tub, a galley kitchen with modern appliances (including a full-size washer/dryer), and old-school radiators for heat. These details add character and charm if you appreciate the real NYC experience.Street parking was manageable near the park, and garages are available if you prefer. Overall, we loved the stay and would absolutely book again.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Booked for charm & realistic experience in Brooklyn. Our family has been to many cities & seen interesting rental properties. The weird stuff can make them better. This could be a cool place; spacious, near subway, nice neighborhood, character; but our time there was unacceptable. 24 hrs before I had no check-in instructions. I msg. the host, no response, so I called Vrbo. They called 2x, no luck, then emailed him. Vrbo said to wait 12 hrs. & then they would cancel/refund. 2 hrs later I got a text from host with check-in info, so it seemed all was OK. We get to Brooklyn, & the moment we walk in we notice a pungent smell like old food. It was apparent the apartment was unclean…hair in bathtub, dirt/grime all over esp. the bathroom. Broken furniture/bathroom lock. We decide to make it work. Next morning my husband & I try to take showers & the temp is faulty. We try to make it work, but it goes from ice to scalding. NOT OK for kids. Decide to contact host, no response. Call Vrbo & say we want a refund. They email host & he says he can come “fix” issues. We say we aren’t OK with that & want a refund. Host refuses. After 2 hr. call with Vrbo they say refund is up to host since he offered to “fix” issues. We decide to leave, spent only 1/4 nights there. Host eventually tells us his maintenance/housekeeping “leads” checked, nothing is wrong. Still won’t refund money. Why would we make this up? Host is dishonest, a terrible property manager & clearly a bad person.
