Front desk staff were nice but the hotel was filthy. I was put in a room with a badly stained mattress & bed sheets then changed into another room which atleast the bed was clean but everything else was not up to par at all .. rooms have potential but maybe hire a better cleaning staff ?

Great location, reasonable price. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Rooms out of repair, needs painting and drywall work, cracked mirrors, misleading photographs, wouldn't trust to step on the tiny balconies. Terrible bedsheets, duvets, difficult to make useable.

I booked the balcony bedroom. Let’s just say the outside was nicer than the interior . The walls looked like the interior of a motel that’s been used up. Hand prints on the walls , dried up makeup, bad paint job & what looked like stains all over. The snacks in the room of course weren’t included and for the price for the room you’d expect it to be no less when there’s no lobby in the building. The building was also just old which is normal but the AC unit was inside the machine which had to be broken off to access.

Property was in a great location for our visit and plans. Walked to most things. Easy access to subway and taxis. Bedding and room were very clean. Common areas were okay, not places you would want to hang out, meet friends - very small. Staff was accommodating, but not very warm and friendly. Didnt realize there were two locations across street from each other....we were across street from main hotel. Not great green ratings. Toilet in our room ran a lot. Overall positive experience. Great if you are visiting both FIT and SVA.

The A/C in the unit wasn’t working so I opened the window, which I usually don’t do in noisy NYC. But since the room was in the back of the tower it was quiet enough to do so.

The toilet was not working properly on the interior of the lid, sometimes it wouldn't flush, sometimes water would leak, so I had to disable the water flow. The air conditioner didn't cool down the room. The chair in front of the desk was a cheap red plastic outdoor chair. I'd expect much more from a hotel like this.

There are things we liked and things we did not like. Overall the place was a bit worn, chipped paint etc. Very small room, very narrows corridors, felt a bit claustrophobic. The bed a very low and felt almost like a futon. The price was right compared to other options and the lobby had a nice vibe and decor. The room was a bit bland but had a few stylistic flourishes. I went out for coffee both mornings at 7 AM and found the extremely loud reggae rap playing in the lobby both mornings off putting. We did find the location very convenient. If we go back to NYC I think we will find a better place to stay even if it costs a bit more.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the security measures at your establishment during our recent stay this past weekend. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by a concerning incident involving a guest from room 1711. Between the hours of 3:45 am and 5 am, we were subjected to continuous knocking on our door by the guest from room 1711. Despite our multiple attempts to address this issue with the front desk, no effective action was taken to resolve the situation. The guest's room was conveniently located across from the elevator, adding to our discomfort and alarm. Furthermore, the guest was observed hanging out with their room door open, creating an atmosphere of unease and insecurity for us, two women traveling alone. Regrettably, we did not feel safe enough to leave our room until check-out, when the presence of cleaning staff provided some reassurance. While we understand that the disruptive behavior of a guest is beyond your control, it is the responsibility of the hotel management to ensure the safety and security of all guests. In this instance, the lack of adequate response from your staff to address the situation left us feeling vulnerable and neglected. As loyal patrons of your establishment, we expect a higher standard of service and vigilance in handling such security concerns. We sincerely hope that you will take this matter seriously and implement better security measures.

If I could give this hotel 0 stars, I would. I genuinely feel catfished by this property and its ratings. Nothing could be further from what I experienced. To start, they offered to store our bags, but they were kept in an unsafe location where anyone walking into the lobby could easily take them. The front desk staff spent their days watching TV on the computer and didn't even really pay attention to who was walking in. The lobby seemed nice, but once you get into the elevators, things change. It's dirty and unkempt with stains and dirt on the floor. Our room was gross and smelled terrible. It was so hot in there and you can't change the temperature of the room, so to alleviate the smell and also lower the temperature, we had to keep the window cracked the whole time. There were stains all over the bed frame. I couldn't wait to check out. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in before. Do not be deceived by the photos.

Honestly, this hotel is depressing and gross. The first room I was given was covered in water from a leak above, the second room was in an old building across the street and it was so creepy that I wouldn’t even shower or remove my socks. The sheets were cheap and the pillows rocks. The window curtain was damaged so blocking daylight out was impossible. There was no staff, just an unpleasant night clerk. I arrived at 3a after a 5 hour flight delay and was told if I wanted to check out an hour late it would cost an extra $75, no exceptions. I travel constantly for business and have stayed in hotels of all price points, this was the worst experience ever.

I booked a room with a queen size bed but they gave me a full size bed (which is smaller) and when I complained at the reception they told me that that was the size of the hotel's queen beds. The truth is I wasn't so comfortable in the small bed.

This hotel is ideally located for getting nearly anywhere easily. It's clean, safe (reception is staffed continuously) and staff are really helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
