“Clean room. Owned by a kind and thoughtful couple. Even their dog was sweet. They are super approachable and made everything very easy. Including helping me arrange a private airport transfer to and from the villa to LIR ($120 USD each way). This property is well-maintained, and the common areas are always clean and comfortable. “Unsure what makes this an eco retreat aside from the fact they ask you to bring your own water bottle to refill with water they provide and there is no hot water for showers. The property has a lot of potential but it felt maybe slightly neglected. “This is a great place in the forest about 25 minutes to some popular beaches. We loved exploring the area. The cabin was super clean and comfortable and the deck area is beautiful to have coffee while listening to the howley monkeys. The pool area is nicely set up for photo opps. “This place is paradise! My wife and I stayed in a 2 bedroom villa which was modern and spotless! I have visited Costa Rica a dozen times and this hotel (oasis) was by far my favorite. Joe, the owner went above and beyond in every way to make sure our stay was perfect. Breakfast is included and it’s spectacular. “The property is in an excellent location with easy access to the beach and local restaurants. The bungalow was spacious and comfortable for our family. We spent a lot of time on the patio and the pool was refreshing after a day on the beach. Dave was very helpful and made our stay easy and enjoyable. Highly recommend! ”

We came to surf Avellanas and walking wasn’t bad. If you are planning to do anything other than surf I would grab a rental car.
