“Close to trainstation and busstation to visit all the touristy spots. Clean and got good continental breakfast. Very close to a big supermarket too which is a big plus”

The staff is really wonderful and were amazing. The beds super comfortable and the room had an amazing view of the river and mountains. If you’re a nostalgist like me you won’t be disappointed. ”

“The best partnof this hotel is the onsen, very easy to use the private facility. The hotel is located quite a distance from the train station so it could be difficult to access depending on weather. However it was close to Toshogu shrine and the Kanmangafuchi Abyss was right next door. Highly recommend if you like relaxing in onsen waters.”

“A great hotel. Small but with everything you require. It is well organised! Despite being relatively small, they managed to put everything in: coin lockers for leaving your luggage, laundry place, place for microwaving your meals, an onsen. We had the classic Japanese room and actually expected not to have a bathroom inside, but actually it had a toilet and sink. Only the shower is outside, and actually that may not matter anyway if you use the onsen downstairs instead. A ramen restaurant is...

“Ligger cirka 15-20 minuter från Nikko train station. Eftersom staden har ett väldigt dåligt utbud av resturanger och barer var det enbart positivt att bo en bit upp i bergen i fin miljö. Ägaren pratar flytande engelska. Serverar billig och ätbar mat. Frukost likaså. Bodde i dorm. Ganska mysigt rum med åtta sängar, dock ganska kallt (slutet av november). Hörde från de som bodde i privata rum att det var samma sak där. Wi-fi hoppade ur i rummet till och från, i det gemensamma rummet fungerade det...

“Our stay at Guesthouse Koundo was excellent. It’s a beautiful home located, in our opinion, in the best spot in Nikko as it is easy to walk to the popular areas as well as catch the bus to go up to the mountain. There are also wonderful neighborhood restaurants to try within walking distance. It’s in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by beautiful nature.
