Transportation
We highly recommend renting a car, regardless of where you stay on the island.
Although Aruba is relatively small, walking can be uncomfortable due to the tropical heat and strong sun—especially when carrying beach chairs, coolers, towels, or groceries. Many roads also have limited sidewalks, and some areas are quite dark after sunset.
Taxi service is readily available and reliable, but it can become expensive for larger groups. Taxis are limited to five passengers, meaning your group may require two vehicles for each trip.
If you plan on visiting beaches, restaurants, grocery stores, or exploring different parts of the island, renting a car is often the most convenient and economical option. It gives you complete flexibility to discover Aruba's many beautiful beaches, restaurants, and attractions at your own pace.
