“We stayed in the motel portion. The location is convenient and our room was ok, but the bathroom had a sliding door with no locking mechanism, which is quite ridiculous when there is a family staying in the room. When I emailed the property twice about this, both emails were ignored. Similarly, I messaged them with a request for "late" checkout (11 am, since their checkout is a ridiculously early 10 am), I received no response.”

The Inn is beautiful -with an awesome view and easy access to downtown Bar Harbor - and very close to Acadia National Park. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! I highly recommend the Saltair Inn to all travelers.”

“Nice, well kept older period property. And as with any older property there is no elevator to this three story hotel. I have sometimes suspected that when you book through Expedia, they sometimes give you a lesser room and we were assigned the third floor. Ok we dragged our bags up two flights of stairs for our three night stay. No hard feelings until night three when we returned from dinner and witnessed two members of the restaurant assisting an elderly man on a walker to his room on the third...

“Such a fun unique property. Like going to some camp. Every detail was well thought out. Campfire with s'mores in the evening... No problem. The cotton little breakfast was great.. Even homemade bagels.”

“We had a whole cottage with a spa bath and a separate bedroom to ourselves. The bed was comfortable! Besides a few splatters on the wall in the kitchenette area and the bathroom, this place was CLEAN. We loved sitting on the "porch" (had two chairs and a small table) and take in the environment with the beautiful flower beds. Breakfast was lovely (real mugs!) with two exceptions. The hot water for e.g. tea had slight taste of coffee, i.e. the thermoses for hot water only and coffee were not kept...
