Home away from home
We stayed at the Home on the Hudson for our ski vacation. The place had everything we needed, was very clean and neat as a pin. We had everything we needed to cook meals after a long day of skiing, laundry if needed, cleaning supplies and personal care products in the bathroom. The host was very engaging to ensure that our stay was pleasant. The view of the Hudson River was very pretty and relaxing to watch. We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect Property
This property has an excellent location and is so well designed. The layout of the home was just perfect and all updated. All the furniture was so comfy from the beds to the chairs. It could not have been newer or cleaner. The only issue I had was I had not received the rental agreement to sign so I didn't get the entrance information. But Helen met us at the property, let us in, and showed us around. One of the best rentals I've been to, thanks so much.

Highly Recommended
This property and experience exceeded our high expectations. Immaculate and cozy with great views on a quiet street great to walk on. Close by a small but nice downtown with lots of places to eat. The host was very responsive and obviously takes pride in her fine property. We hope to come back soon and recommend this to everyone.

Great place!
We have immensely enjoyed our stay @ House on the Hudson. It's one of the cleanest VRBO rentals we've stayed at (& we have been VRBO guests for over 15 years!). The host was gracious & accomodating. They supply .ost everything you need. Cottage is in a fantastic location, on a scenic & walkable lane. It's close to a grocery, restaurants, & a very small Walgreens. We hiked, did rail biking, steamboat ride at Lake George, visited/shopped at Lake Placid, & rode a gondola to the top of Gore/Bear mountain. Plenty of summer activities to do! We ran out of time to do rafting/tubing. Highly recommend this quiet cottage with a beautiful river view.

Amazing View
The view is priceless! The home is warm & inviting, so clean, Helene even had all the little things you forget, (ex shampoo & hand cream). The bear buy parks are a must exploration. Helene can direct you to so many places to explore. I will return someday to continue my exploring.

Awesome ADK
Great location to Gore Mt. We were there during spring snowstorm. Owner offered us an extended stay, let us use the garage and driveway was plowed first thing in the morning. Hudson River was gorgeous to watch out the front window. Would be nice to head back during the summer.

This may be the best place to stay in North Creek
We initially planned to stay here for only two nights, but extended our stay for another night because we liked it so much. Don't judge the property by the lack of landscaping around the house--the interior of the house is beautiful, well-appointed, and restful, with a great view of the Hudson River. The kitchen is modern and well-equipped and offers quite a bit of counter space. The tap water was the best we encountered on our trip through the eastern Adirondacks and northwestern Vermont with no odor or excessive mineralization. No bottled water is necessary. The full-size washer and dryer worked great. The large bed in the master bedroom has a wonderfully firm mattress that provided great support for our aging backs. The other bedroom contains bunk beds that children would enjoy. The spacious living area has a good TV and two comfortable rockers with reasonable lumbar support, as well as a sofa. The location is superb. Old River Road has little traffic and relatively few residences, which results in a quiet, peaceful ambiance. The mile-long stretch from the house to the point where the road ends provides many views of the Hudson and the mountains. Flat and bordered with a variety of trees and shrubs, the road makes for a beautiful, relaxing walk, especially when the leaves are changing color. Frankly, it was one of the best walks on our trip. The location is convenient to the village of North Creek, which contains a surprisingly wide variety of stores (including a Tops grocery store) and eateries., as well as the wonderful, modern, and spacious Tannery Pond Community Center, which also serves as an information center (with free copies of topo map segments showing area trails) and art gallery that features changing exhibitions. The owner is helpful and accessible and she emailed a list of area facilities and attractions at the time we made our reservation. She also prepared a 3-ring binder with information about the house and the area.

Excellent
This property is excellent and so are the hosts. Our visit was a celebration of our wedding anniversary and the hosts left us a beautiful card and bottle of champagne, which was a thoughtful and special touch. The property was spotless and offered everything you could think of. For us, the master bed was a little too hard, but it might be fine for others. We travel a lot and this place stands out as one of the best for cleanliness and lovely extras (good linens, shampoo/conditioner/soap, etc.). It was as described by the hosts and the views are beautiful. It is also very peaceful. We would definitely recommend a stay here. (The local restaurants are rather lacking in quality for our taste...that would be our one complaint, but that has nothing to do with this property or the hosts.)

Excellent Stay On The River
The House on the Hudson was a welcome surprise for our week stay. The house is very neatly kept and a great location for sight seeing and hiking. This house was also a very peaceful as you can set on the porch and listen to the water rolling by. The house was exactly as advertised. We would come back again.

Great time at Home on the Hudson
We really enjoyed our 5 day stay here. Everything was clean and comfortable. There were plenty of pamphlets to choose from for things to do in the area, as well as personal notes about local businesses and points of interest. The renters were very helpful and answered our questions quickly and knowledgeably.

Pleasant two nights at Home on the Hudson
We were very pleased with this property. It was very clean and well equipped. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and watching the river flow by. The owner was quite attentive to inquiring about our satisfaction. One suggestion involves throw rugs in the master bathroom. They were slip hazards that would benefit from rubberized bottoms to prevent slippage.

SO LOVELY AND CLEAN
This home is so lovely. So clean….from the minute you go on the property and then inside this little house. The kitchen is stocked so nicely. Dining area and living room face the river with picture windows and doors. CLEAN bathrooms, such a COMFY bed in the master. There is an amazing deck overlooking the nearby Hudson River. The road is soooo quiet and we walked along it each night to sit by the river and bask in the last sun of the day. Left refreshed and very happy. Thank you!!!

Wonderful Home with everything you need for a wonderful vacation stay.
We loved our stay at this cute little home. This house has everything you will need for a wonderful vacation stay! The house is located right on the Hudson Rive across from the town of North Creek. It is within walking distance of the Revolution Rail Company and village shopping. It is just a short drive to many wonderful hiking and biking trails. The host Helen lives next door and willing to provide you with suggestions on local attractions. You will love you stay at the Home on the Hudson!

Perfect for our needs
Quaint but immaculate, well appointed, updated property, perfect for our family of four to ski at Gore mountain (only 3 miles away). Beds and couches were super comfy, well heated and nicely decorated. Hosts were extremely communicative and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

Gorgeous waterfront home
We had an amazing restful long weekend at the Goodman’s property…. so cozy, modern conveniences with everything you can imagine to make our stay comfortable (well appointed kitchen, extra blankets & pillows, a welcome binder with tons of info on the area & house )….we enjoyed every minute on the deck, whether having our coffee in the morning or cocktail in the evening, and a nice fire in the firepit Friday night. Our hosts were welcoming & communication was excellent !!! We highly recommend this lovely piece of heaven, thank you for sharing it & we hope to be back !!

Short stay
We rented Helene's house for two nights and enjoyed every moment of our visit. The house was very clean and was exactly as pictured in the VRBO site.. We stayed at Helene's house since we were going on the rail bike excursion. Her house was less than five minutes to the rail bike. My adult son enjoyed his stay and wants to make a return visit. If I ever go to the area again, I will absolutely be a return visitor.

House On The River
Super clean and quiet, and the front deck facing the river with an awning was great. Bed was really comfortable as well as the recliners in the living room. Although Direct TV wasn't working Netflix, Roku, Hulu etc. was available and WiFi was fast. Make sure to go the the Station Museum across the river in North Creek where you can learn a lot about the history of the area as well as an HO scale model railroad depicting the area in the 1930's.

Great location, great place
We had a great time in North Creek and this little house was a gem. It was very clean and the owners were very responsive upon check in. It was on a quiet road and was central to many of the activities we had planned for our short Adirondack trip.

Wonderfully comfortable and spotlessly clean cottage overlooking the Hudson river.
Helene's cottage was the perfect getaway for our family of 4. It was spotlessly clean and had extremely comfortable beds and bedding. Central air made it really comfortable in the variable weather we had. We ate in every night and made full use of all of good quality kitchen utensils which is not something you find in most rentals. I really appreciated the sharp knives, good quality pots / pans / baking trays / 4-slice toaster / kettle, ssentials like oil, seasoning, sugar and even balsamic vinegar, and all of the cleaning supplies we needed. We also made use of the high tech and dryer which were very quiet and quick. The location was extremely tranquil and we had a pretty view of the Hudson river. I don't remember seeing hardly any cars pass in front of the property and the peace and quiet were wonderful. Having a garage was great as it kept the car out of the hot sun and rain and made getting in and out very convenient. Helene was so very responsive and kind. We forgot to bring our Roku, which when you're traveling with young children is an essential item, and Helene kindly loaned us her personal roku for the duration of our stay which made all the difference. We were less than 5 minutes from a Tops grocery store and the Revolution Rail company, and less than 10 mins from the ARO whitewater rafting company. Helene also left a thoughtful binder with local info, as well as a print out of all of the Direct TV channels. We've been to many rentals and this is one of the best equipped and cleanest ones we've experienced. Highly recommended, thank you Helene!! 😊

Beautiful place, both the setting and the accommodations. It was very clean with everything we needed. We would love to come back again. It even has a one car garage which is nice to leave your skiis in.

Perfect base for ski trip
We usually stay at Lake George but it was so nice to be so close to the mountain. Bonus is definitely being situated right by the river. Also, looks like a great spot to check out the area in the summer.

Fall on the Hudson!
We felt so comfortable as soon as we walked in the door, super clean, everything you need for your stay! The view of the river with the changing leaves was beautiful. This home is centrally located to so many wonderful scenic sites as well as close to Main Street in North Creek with great restaurants like Marsha's and Chrissy's as well as the rail bike at Revolution Rail Company. This is a location I will visit again soon and would love to rent this home again as the owner's are very friendly and accomodating! Thank you for a great stay!

Get away and relax
Love, love, love this place. The house is perfect as is the view. North Creek is stunning. There are things to do around this area to keep you busy if you want, or just stay in and relax. Just what I was looking for in a vacation.

This was my first time doing a VRBO. The place was immaculate and was as advertised, complete with deck and grill and fire pit and and birds singing in the trees in the morning and a relaxing view of the Hudson River floating by. The kitchen was well equipped, the AC kept us cool over the warm weekend, and the village of North Creek was a short walk or drive away, where you'll find a grocery store, bakery, and restaurants. Helene was prompt and informative when responding to emails. Overall a great first experience!

Sunny! Lovely home with great views.
Helene makes you feel very welcome. The house is adorable and sparkling clean. The views from every window are beautiful. It was very peaceful even though it was close to town. My husband and I spent a wonderful weekend here. It is close to skiing and snowshoeing. Restaurants are nearby if you don’t want to cook but the kitchen is fully equipped and a joy to work in!

Beautiful location, perfect for family ski trip to Mt Gore.
Coming from Florida, we were delighted to discover Helene's house nestled the snow, with scenic winter views of the river from the windows. The roads were all clear, as promised, the house warm and cozy with a bonus of garage parking. The beds were extremely comfortable, kitchen well equipped and we found everything we needed for our stay. Helene was very quick and helpful in answering all of our questions. She made sure all went well with check in and check out. All of our family (2 parents and 2 young adult children) thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the excellent skiing at Mt. Gore. We would enthusiastically recommend Helene's house. Thank you Helene :)
