When we arrived the receptionist noticed I was using a walking aid and unprompted started looking to change our room to an accessible room eliminating needing to use stairs. “We asked for a late check out and even though the hotel was absolutely empty - (we were the only two people at breakfast in a room that could seat 100) the hotel still denied a late checkout (personally I think 11am checkout is too early) so we were charged an extra £20 for a 12pm checkout. When the room costs £500 per night this is totally outrageous. The hotel was empty so it would have been a nice gesture to offer a 1pm checkout given at most high end hotels 12pm is standard. “Food was excellent ”

“Room was in good condition however it was a disabled room that was not advised on booking. There was an intermittent unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. Seeing the disabled room I immediately requested a room change but here was not much enthusiasm as we had a 2 night stay and was told the hotel was full the following night so not much they could do and on the first night there were currently no other made up rooms. “Beautiful country hotel, small and personal service, delightful comfortable en-suite rooms, warm inviting pool - often to ourselves, incredible top class gourmet food - formal dining and bar food served in the warm and cosy bar area or the relaxing lounge. So much choice at breakfast, all delicious, everything you could want. Can’t wait to go back in summer to enjoy the open terrace overlooking the pond. A real joy to stay here.”

“Great hotel with lots of activities for the kids. Gym was huge with lots of equipment and classes. We had a family suite which was huge with separate bedrooms for kids and adults. Only small let downs were the shower pressure being terrible, hotel was super hot even though it wasn’t a warm day, but the did provide us with fans. Breakfast had a great selection but gluten free options ran out quickly and weren’t replaced.”
