After mentioning an issue with the room first allocated to us upon check-in, we were directed to another room, it was excellent
 very spacious, view of the river, very clean and lovely bathroom. We had an excellent night sleep in a huge king size bed, it was lovely and quiet especially after closing time. Looking back at what time we checked in, we could’ve timed it better because it was in the middle of food service in the restaurant and it was very busy, so there was a bit of a wait to check in as staff were extra busy. At breakfast the food options on the continental was excellent and a plentiful supply and came included with the cooked breakfast.

A lovely hotel where the staff were absolutely wonderful, the kids were over the moon with the biscuits the lady on reception gave us, just a little touch but it was lovely. The room was a little dated but had all we needed and was well maintained and clean which is more important than the era of furniture (think 1990s pine era). The initial lack of signage for the car park had us almost parking out the front in a car park full of pot holes but as we got out we realised the car park was round the back son drove round there instead. The car park was well lit, covered by cctv, and easy access to the bar and hotel. There’s also a really good little park for the kids to be entertained if you want to sit out back for a bit. Overall it was excellent value for money and we would definitely go back.

Enjoyable Stay

A comfortable and cost effective option. However what really made my stay was the friendly and helpful staff especially Paula and Jackie.

A good choice

We used to take our children here years ago on riverside trips and were really pleased by our four night stay. Nice clean room with very big bed, relaxing pub, good food and a quiet location with plenty of free parking space. Staff are nice and helpful. We'll be back.

Staff were great. Room was nice and clean. A decent pint and freshly cooked breakfast. Good value for money.

Massive carpark at the front and back. Check in at the side of the bar The room was up a flight of stairs and you need a code to get into the corridor. The room was a good size as was the bathroom. Quite drab and worn looking decor, lots of repair jobs, no headboard but just marked walls as seen in photos! The bed was ok Wifi is good The shower was ok Evening meal was limited menu due to a burst water pipe in the restaurant! Went for the chicken and mushroom pie Very overcooked pie with rather tough pastry. Good size portion Not bad value. Breakfast is not included but can be added if wanted. Location right opposite a river with some nice walks. Not much else close by though. Would stay again if there was nothing else close by.

Nice location

The room was comfortable. I ate in the restaurant, which was pleasant but my food was very late. When I chased, they had. An explanation - there was no coleslaw. I didn't want any anyway and would have appreciated the opportunity to let them know before my stomach thought my throat had been cut...! I was disturbed very early because of a burst pipe. It didn't affect me or my room, luckily. I think it's a nice hotel l and well placed for m my business trips. I will visit again and give them another shot. The staff were pleasant and tried to be helpful.
