THE SHOAL SHACK - Oak Island, NC

Welcome to our 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom home located on a double lot with ample room for boat parking or multiple vehicles. Our home has a BRAND NEW A/C in 2019. Home is located only 2 blocks from Davis Canal public dock. Clean, cozy house in the wooded area of the island. The house is walking and biking distance to the beach.

Bring your own boat! Optional boat dock available for rent within walking distance of home. Deep water on canal for only $25 per night. Contact us for more details!

Our completely renovated home currently has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The house situated on 2 lots with ample room for boat parking in front or beside the house. Completely renovated home will have brand new appliances and modern bathrooms. One bathroom includes double shower heads! Our home has a cute loft with a SMART TV that is perfect for kids!

Our home has dining area, kitchen & large living room. The living room has a sectional sofa, ceiling fans and end tables. A large flat screen TV & DVD player. High speed internet with Wi-Fi is available for your use.

The kitchen is equipped refrigerator/freezer/ice maker, standard coffee maker, stove/oven, microwave, blender, coffee cups, glass wear, silver wear, wine glasses and all other standard necessities for the kitchen and more.

Check-In is 4:00pm EST and Check-out is 10:00am EST

If you would like to bring your well-behaved dog, please message me BEFORE making a booking. Dogs are permitted only with prior approval; $75 non-refundable pet fee (2 dogs maximum; no cats or other pets accepted).

Loved staying here for an extended long weekend with my dogs while down visiting family. Neighborhood is nice and quiet, and the house was nice. My dogs enjoyed watching the squirrels from the large windows.

Overall, stay was good, but when we got in the house although he warned us there would be dead bugs all over the place., because they exterminated like the day before we got there! I don’t like bugs and they were dead big roaches called palmetto everywhere !Not to mention they were running around the house, and I had to go buy spray even after the exterminationThe furniture was covered with sand, and they expected a lot out of a person when they were checking out like sweeping the floors, wiping the counters and the appliances when you get a Vrbo, that should be the job of the cleanup crew not the tenants! On a positive note it was a great neighborhood very quiet and the people in the neighborhood were very friendly!

Property was just as pictured, host was quick to reply with any questions, and everyone had a great time. Only complaint we had was there were several larger bugs seen inside the home during our stay. I don't think they were roaches, but they were very similar looking and BIG (possible a water beetle of some type). Also, Ants were on the counter within 10 minutes of putting any food out. We had to throw away a whole pizza on our first night before we even got to enjoy it due to hundreds of ants swarming the kitchen countertop while we were bringing our luggage in. Same with if you left a soda can on the counter for a few minutes, ants all over. I would definitely recommend this place and stay here again if the bug sightings/ants were corrected by an exterminator.

Loves our vacation

Great vacation for us loved being away from the busy main road but close to everything. Home was cute and in quiet area where our kids could take our dog for a walk without us worrying about traffic.Owner was easy to communicate with and very nice .

Shoal Shack Paradise

Very clean and comfortable place to stay for the family. Dog friendly and a loft for the kids. Two nice showers with good space, and well-furnished kitched. We loved our time here so much!

Adorable Beach House

Ideal Location

The Shoal Shack was perfect for our needs. Convenient location in a quiet neighborhood; close to the beach and all amenities. Plenty of space for my wife and I, and our two teenage sons, as well as our dog. Zero complaints and at a great price. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Sweet Getaway

Plenty of room for our family of six whether gathering for a movie, a meal or a game and only a few blocks from the beach. Clean, comfortable, relaxing, and our hosts took wonderful care of us. Our middle daughter loved all the pictures of their pets throughout the home. We had such a memorable vacation and were so sad to leave The Shoal Shack. Our only hope is that it's available for our next visit to Oak Island.

Christmas 2023

Nice little house with all conveniences. Had issue with internet was all. Owner was quick to communicate and offered to come over if needed. Nice little neighborhood where we felt comfortable and safe. Dog friendly which was a plus for our little fur babies. Would recommend to anyone who doesn’t mind being a little ways from beach. I would go here again

Cute rental

Cute rental. Nicely remodeled. Quiet area and pretty yard and deck. Easy drive to beach. Sparce on pillows and no blankets. Bring your own hair dryer and hangers too. Some beds are comfortable enough but a couple could use new or better mattresses. Couch is comfortable and house was clean and comfortable.

Cozy 3 BR perfect for beach getaway

We loved our stay. Property was clean with modern amenities. It is located in a quiet part of Oak Island but it is 5 minutes (if that) from the beach. Would recommend if you need a place for a weekend getaway. Only negative was beds were a bit squeaky but otherwise comfortable.

Family Friendly

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Shoal Shack! It was clean, family friendly, close enough to the beach and local businesses, and a short distance to Southport. Towels and linens provided along with basic cookware, glassware & dinnerware. If you like to prepare meals there is a Publix/Food Lion where you can buy grocery items (make sure to get your pantry staples including spices.) There is also a Dollar General close by if you forget shampoo, soap or need extra paper products or laundry detergent. Dish detergent & dishwasher packets were provided. There is a breakfast nook/dining room area that we found perfect for a family game night or family meals. Puzzles were provided and we enjoyed putting one together on the same dining table. There was a kids loft area upstairs with tv, bean bag chair and small couch (if you are tall watch your head going up there lol). The kids loved the loft and it made a great kids play area! We loved the map on the wall & it made a great conversation piece/ learning experience as well as photo bkgd. It was cold in November but my husband & sons went fishing and loved it! Cold weather calls for coffee & we checked out Oki Scoop & Donuts as well as the Oki Coffee Shop. This was a great experience and we made a lot of memories!

Simple and convenient

The stay was easy. It was not complicated to use the appliances and the home was clean and simple. It was not far from the beach at all, just a couple of minutes drive. The area was quiet and friendly.
