“This property is really a hidden gem of a hotel. The rates are very reasonable and the area around the hotel is beautiful. The property even has a natural waterfall and a fern grotto which is extraordinary. The rooms are older but very clean and well maintained. Also the beds are very comfortable. The room also has a small refrigerator and microwave. All in all this is a place you should really consider. I know i would definitely come back. ”

“We booked the top floor because it has that attic, Harry Potter feeling. OMG! It is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The room is so beautiful. We felt like we were living in Harry Potter's house, minus where Harry really lived in. Our only wish is that we can live in a place like this permanently. Our kids loved it. “I stayed in Daphne, a cute single room. Perfect for just me and one night. Very clean, plenty spacious. My only complaint was that it was very bright in the room all-night due to lights outside & curtains that werent black out. ”

“This is the largest, and probably best hotel right in Nevada City, on the main street. But it is far enough from any live music venues not to be bothered. A beautifully restored/refitted old brick nineteenth century hotel. I would definitely stay there again in Nevada City. That said, it does not have 21st-century innovations like TV or swimming pools! But if you want old-timey Gold Country charm, I recommend it. The hotel restaurant is good, too. And the staff was professional ”
