Delightful stay!
Property was as described, very well outfitted and in good condition and clean. Great assortment of DVDs forthose so inclined. Very walkable neighborhood with some excellent breakfast restaurants a block away. Would not hesitate to stay here again!

Lovely house!
We entertained family from the UK and everyone loved this house and neighborhood! The house is fully stocked with everything we needed or wanted. It’s a gorgeous house and property and we had a fabulous time.

Beautiful place!
I stayed at this property in October, and it was awesome. Even though I usually like trying new places, I'd gladly come back here. My family and I had a blast. We all loved hanging out at the big dining table, sharing meals, and playing board games. The house was very clean and comfy and the backyard, with its beautiful avocado tree, was a nice spot to relax. I would also like to express my gratitude to our host, Maria. She was incredibly responsive and accommodating throughout our stay, ensuring that all of our needs and questions were promptly addressed. Her hospitality was truly exceptional, and it made our stay all the more enjoyable.

Victorian wonder
Stayed here for the weekend in order to attend concerts at Oracle Park. The location was perfect. We were able to come back after being in the city all day and we were able to enjoy the quiet homie feeling to unwind. Beautiful home and neighborhood and we had all the amenities we needed. Market 2 blocks away was a big plus. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!!

Gorgeous historic home!
Our family had a wonderful stay in this lovely Victorian in a quiet residential neighborhood. Beautifully furnished with antiques and immaculate, this house has all the comforts of home. Great home in very nice neighborhood- highly recommendable!
Family vacation ( 4 people), we stayed for 4 nights exploring SF before proceeding to Hawaii. Loved everything about this really nice home: very spacious, comfy beds, easy parking, quiet and nice neighborhood. And fully equipped with everything! Especially appreciated the high quality bath supplies, water in the fridge and coffee for getting started! The kitchen was the most favorite family place, although we had no time for cooking :-) The weather was too cold for enjoying the garden with its magnificient Avocado tree. Nice restaurants in Alameda within walking distance and easy to drive to SF. We would return any time!

Fabulous Alameda stay
You will find everything you could possibly need for a family vacation in this very special, incredibly well-maintained historic Victorian town. We walked to nearby playgrounds and downtown Alameda, as well as just enjoyed the beautiful backyard (with cornhole and other games at the picnic table). The host is very responsive as well if you have questions or need something. We would absolutely stay here again !

This is lovely historic property that is very comfortable and well equipped. It is great for a family. The host is very responsive, and even picked some avocados for us from the back yard tree. This made a delicious breakfast of avocado toast. We enjoyed our comfortable stay tremendously.

Historisk villa på Alameda
En nydelig opplevelse å bo i den historiske villaen på Alameda. Området er rolig og behagelig, huset og hagen er imponerende velstelte. Huset er veldig godt utstyrt med alt man kan trenge, både av kjøkkenredskap, på badet og av spill og filmer til ungdommene. Vi opplevde vertskapet som pålitelig, ukomplisert og hyggelig. Perfect!
Stayed here with my family (3 kids 13,11,9 and hubby) for our visit to explore San Francisco. We took the ferry in most days and that made it super easy! The house is spacious, clean, and in a great location!

Weekend getaway
We stayed in this beautiful property over Memorial Day weekend. We booked it to attend a graduation ceremony. It worked so well for our family. It was myself, my husband, our 9 year old twins and my mom. It had the perfect amount of room and was exactly as advertised. We had only 1 issue come up and the owner answered my call right away and fixed it within ten minutes. The house is comfortable and well stocked. We would highly recommend it to others and will certainly stay again if we find ourselves in the area.

Wonderful!
This property is a very lovely, spacious home in a safe and beautiful neighborhood. We spent a lot of time walking around the neighborhood looking at homes and gardens. The home has plenty of space and many great areas to sit and visit. Very convenient for restaurants and shopping in Alameda. We took the Seaplane into San Francisco during the day and evening- very safe, economical and comfortable. While staying here, we biked across the Golden Gate Bridge, hiked at Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park, went to an Oakland A’s game and did a walking food tour in the Mission District. Maria was very accessible and accommodating. Loved our stay! Thank you!

Charming, Convenient, and Well-Equipped
This was the perfect home away from home. The host was helpful. The home was well-stocked with towels, linens, and toiletries. There were also many movies, games (both electonic and board/card), and books. Walkable neighborhood. Home was as-advertised, in excellent condition, and clean. It has many charming qualities, and was a beautiful place to stay. The yard is private and has plenty of seating.

Wonderful!
We had a great trip to Alameda. We chose this house due to the location (Very close to the family member we were visiting). The house was wonderful - large, inviting and had everything we needed. Plenty of room for my two daughters, myself and my husband. I was pleasantly surprised with the stocked toiletries (anytime I have rented houses before we have to buy/bring these items) and the well-stocked kitchen. Excellent location - close to everything in Alameda and a quick drive to the ferry station over to SF. Maria was great to work with and we had no issues! Thank you for sharing your lovely house with us.

Exceeded Expectations in Every Way!
My family had a wonderful early thanksgiving on the west coast at this beautiful home. Everything was there that was needed to make a huge turkey. The layout is perfect with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Super nice, super safe neighborhood for walks, and very well maintained comfortable home. It will exceed your expectations in every way.

Lovely spacious home w/ great location!
The House: The home has a wonderful layout which offered our family plenty of space to spread out. It was much bigger than we expected from photos! The old Victorian charm was lovely and the kids and I enjoyed exploring the home, reading its history, and exploring the books, games, and even the collection of LIFE magazines from the 60s! There were plenty of linens and extra blankets and all the needed amenities for cooking or storing food. The yard is also really lovely front and back and we enjoyed picking fresh avocados hanging off the huge tree in the backyard. We came in August and while really hot coming from Southern California, the weather here cools at night with a breeze coming in from the bay. We slept with windows open for fresh cool air each evening: Location: We enjoyed the drive across the bay bridge to head into SF. The drive was beautiful and generally speaking we got to many places we wanted to go within 25-30 minutes. (Of course depends on where you are going but we found the house location excellent!) The neighborhood was also quiet and family friendly and I went out alone for a walk or jog near the beach in the mornings. (Less than a mile away.) A walk around the neighborhood is encouraged to see other neat Victorian homes. Alameda has a small town feel with plenty of cute shops and restaurants. We didn’t get a chance to explore them but did order take out from a few places. Maria was really helpful and quick to respond to my texts which is always a relief when staying in a rental. We would definitely stay in this home again in a future visit.

Great house!
Our family of five (kids 21, 18 and 15) stayed at the house to visit San Francisco and surroundings (Napa, Sausalito, etc.) and everyone loved the house. We preferred having some space than staying in the city and the location is perfect to visit Napa valley. The kitchen, which is very well equipped, and bathrooms have been updated making the house extremely comfortable. The house was also very very clean. We definitely recommend and would love to go back!

Great home in Alameda
We have stayed for 4 nights while visiting family in Alameda and Bay Area. This historic home was in a nice neighborhood, well maintained, clean, spacious and had a beautiful backyard. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had plenty of utensils and numerous books and games were a nice bonus. Definitely a home away from home!

Great family home!
This is a fantastic Victorian home in a great location! Our group ranged from 8 months to 70 years old and it was perfect for everyone. Very well equipped, and the property owner/manager was fantastic to work with. She even provided extra hanging/ storage in one of the areas for us. An historic home but so comfortable to be in for all ages. There were extra amenities everywhere, including lots of kitchen equipment, a barbecue and lovely backyard with lots of grass and tables outdoor dining. A perfect place for our family vacation!

We really enjoyed our trip to this beautiful, historic property. Perfect for our two kids. The owner was very responsive and helpful. Big Victorian - super clean
This house was just as advertised. It was larger than I thought it would be, and it was very very clean. The location was great for seeing SFO and the surrounding area. Great restaurants in downtown Alameda (be sure to have pizza at The Star). Our host was very responsive. Everything in the house worked perfectly. Lot’s of DVD’s if you are a movie fan!

We enjoyed our stay. The house is very well-equipped. In warm weather it must be lovely but even in cold and rainy weather it was very nice. A beautiful Victorian well-appointed, and Maria was very responsive. Tons of kitchen supplies; awesome board games and CD collections in a cozy room. Comfortable beds and good heat for the main floor. A little chilly upstairs but okay. Be aware - we didn’t notice this in the write up if it was there - that the two main bedrooms are separated by a shared bathroom that felt a little awkward. Overall a good home base if you plan to spend time in Alameda. We’ll be happy to return.

Lovely home we highly recommend
We were in town to visit our son for the week and traveling with his grandparents. This lovely house was perfect for us and had everything we could possibly need. We enjoyed the local restaurants and convenience to anywhere we wanted to go. This is a beautiful area to take long walks and easy to enjoy the views of the bay. Maria was very accommodating and available to us. The back yard is a great place to relax. It is good to note that the 2 downstairs bedrooms share the full bath but there is also a half bath. The other full bath is upstairs. We felt very at home! Just wish we had of found this home earlier so could rent it for Christmas!!

Tolles Ferienhaus- Mit Fähre stressfrei nach SFO
Ein sehr sauberes großes Haus wie in US Movies. Tolle Betten, Garten, schnelles WLAN, sehr netter Kontakt mit Maria- alles online. Mit dem Auto zur Fähre sind es 10 min, diese fährt alle 30 min zum Ferry Building. SFO dann ohne Stau zu Fuß (es ist ja immer kühl) oder Fahrrad, oder Cable Car. 5 Tolle Tage!! Vielen Dank!

Lovely comfortable family home
Period features and extremely well stocked with everything you could need. This was our down time while visiting lseveral cities in the USA and we all loved the house and Alameda A quick Uber or Lyft to Fruitvale BART for a train to San Francisco. The lovely BART man was very helpful and patient explaining how to get the ticket machine to do what we wanted. There is a grocery store less than 4 minutes from the house which has all you need to stock up the fridge. The house is full of beautiful period features and has such a lovely comfortable feeling to it, we felt at home as soon as we got there. Maria was always available to help with any queries we had. Highly recommend this beautiful home.

Beautiful Housr
This property was absolutely beautiful and we loved staying here. It was the most well equipped house we have ever rented, loads of pots, pans, tea and coffee, jams, cooking oils and so much more. Very comfortable beds, gorgeous lounge with loads of dvds and brilliant board games to play - we loved the scrabble board! There is also a very pretty garden with lots of seating. We would definitely stay here again. Maria was a fabulous host, answered all of queries regarding parking, where to eat, best take away, etc. 5 stars

Fantastic and highly recommend
We just loved this house. Great location in a really quiet area. Clean, comfortable and a little quirky. Maria is just a great host and we enjoyed talking with her. As in other posts like us we brought picnic stuff etc however previous guests had done the same so suggest waiting looking in the cupboards as there is a ton of stuff. Kitchen has every gadget you'll need. Beds are comfortable and good showers. All spotlessly clean. Great little breakfast spot at the bottom of the stairs and we enjoyed eating out in the garden. Location - we like to walk and found the area to be very safe and had many enjoyable walks looking at the houses on the way into town. Took us about 15 mins at a stroll. Best top tip is to forget the car into San Fran just take a 5 min drive to the ferry and catch the boat. So stress free it made our visits so relaxing. Fantastic house, host and location and highly recommend.

What more could we ask for!
Arrangements with Maria were simple. The home was even larger than we expected and well cared for. Staying in a house from the 1800s with careful updates was a treat. the yard was magnificent and afforded some downtime in shade and quiet for the 3 couples(siblings) who travelled to a nephew's wedding. The neighborhood seemed very safe and it was nice to have parking available behind the garage on the property although we could usually have found some on the street. Maria has a well stocked kitchen with utensils and appliances and cookware and dishes. One could cook up any meal there or use the BBQ in the yard although we mainly did breakfast at home. A whole cabinet of spices saves purchase for a tsp. The drawers contained treasures for those travellers who happen to forget essentials like toothbrushes, nail clippers, pens, etc. Our only problem was the San Francisco record setting heat while we were there. Our first few nights had the house cooling off nicely once we opened the windows on our return. The 3 days when the temp. was 37C (98F) the house was very hot but this situation is out of character for SF and Maria can hardly be expected to provide for this. Even many restaurants do not have AC there as it is generally not needed. We ran into a situation at a restaurant in Alameda where a restaurant did have AC but it was broken and the staff was so frustrated by the management's lack of action that they were walking out. Getting to SF proper was very simple on the Oakland/Alameda ferry which even runs special times directly to Giants games at Oracle Park. Make sure you visit the nearby Blue Dot Restaurant for lunch. the Eggs Benedict are superb.

Outstanding Experience
I had the pleasure of spending a week in this home while on a work trip to the Bay Area. I wish that I had had the opportunity to take greater advantage of my stay in this wonderful, welcoming house in such a pleasant neighborhood. The experience could not have been smoother. The house was extraordinarily well-appointed and comfortable. The owner was communicative and kind. It was an easy walk to all that Park Street offers, while a corner store and shops on Encinal were just a block away. Street parking was plentiful. I was an Alameda resident for a decade and have rented multiple VRBOs in town since moving away. I could not recommend this one more.

A beautiful, historic, perfectly managed home on one of Alameda’s most picturesque streets!

Beautiful pristine home in quiet neighborhood
We stayed here in October 2018 and loved it. Nice restaurants were walkable. Easy Uber to the Aladema Ferry. Super quiet and safe neighborhood. The house was spotlessly clean, and very good value. The garden is very well maintained and looked just like it does in the photo. We were visiting our son in Berkeley and found the drive back and forward very easy. We'd highly recommend this house and its nice owner!

This house is everything you want it to be. Maria was a great host - there when we needed her but otherwise allowing us to just enjoy our break. The house is beautiful inside and out. Well maintained and clean. The top floor shower was amazing - being a shower person, I need a GOOD shower and it delivered on that. It was easy to park and the location was great for SF (except for the SF traffic of course!) The neighbourhood was cute. We had everything we needed in the house and it truly was a home from home. If I had one suggestion it would be to find slightly more comfortable beds for the top floor but not a reason to rate down. Just a suggestion. Thanks for everything Maria.

A beautiful house with excellent facilities in a very relaxing and enjoyable location.
We stayed outside San Fransisco at Alameda and it was very relaxing. Very easy to get into San Fransisco either by Bart train or by ferry and we could buy our own food to prepare. The house was so well set up and our host Marie was very helpful and accomodating. I would recommend this accomodation to anyone wanting to see San Fransisco - we went into the city everyday very easily and did all the tourist activities but could come home and relax in a lovely environment each evening.
