Nice hotel in a central location with interesting interior design. Small but nice rooms. Friendly staff. The breakfast is simple but serves its purpose. The neighboring cafes are a better alternative. Perfect if you are traveling with a rental car. Unfortunately, the refrigerator was much too loud and had to be turned off at night.

We had a wonderful stay at the poshtel. Our hosts / the staff was gorgeous, very friendly!! As we mentioned that we have to leave before breakfast, they brang our breakfast to our room the evening before. Very nice rooms, celan, spacy and cosy. We would definitely come back and only canrecommend it!

One of the most unique places we have stayed. Really fun and great location. Continental breakfast was perfect. Easy walking to town and penguins.

Our stay was superb and exceeded our expectations. The hotel is tastefully decorated with memorabilia and interesting items you won't find anywhere else. When we mentioned we would be leaving early the next morning they prepared a breakfast tray in advance for our room. It was just amazing.

그럭저럭 나쁘지 않았어요
방은 사진이랑 똑같다고 보시면 됩니다. 직원분들이 굉장히 친절했습니다. 위치도 마트 바로 옆이라 좋았어요. 주차장은 마트랑 같이 쓰고 있어서 건물뒤가 아닌 마트에 주차할때 살짝 헷갈렸습니다. 아쉬운 점은 조식이 8시 부터 시작입니다. 뉴질랜드 내에 묵었던 다른 숙소는 7시부터 시작이였는데, 일정을 빨리 시작해서 조식을 못먹었네요. 그리고 화장실 환풍기를 끄고 잤더니 아침에 화장실 하수구 냄새가 좀 올라왔네요.

If you are looking for a true boutique-style hotel this is it! The vibe is artsy and funky with cool public areas and the rooms are cozy with style. The staff are really friendly and it came with breakfast. Plus, Oamaru is now one of my favourite places in New Zealand. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Convenient location in Omarau. Walking distance to everything in town. Nice breakfast options. The room was clean but a bit on the small side. Other than that it was very good. Would probably stay here again

Byfar the best hotel we’ve stayed in so far on this trip. Spotlessly clean, quirky and thoughtful. Lots of special little touches in the room. Great breakfast too. Loved it and can’t recommend enough.

Poshtel is very central. The rooms are interesting with different collections in each. The communal area collections are great. The continental breakfast is really great.

Stylish but early wake-up
We stayed in the One bedroom apartment. It was very stylish and mostly well equipped. It has a full oven and hob, large fridge freezer, chesterfield sofa and generally very pleasant. Also had private car parking space next to private entrance. Included breakfast was also very good. Downside was that it backed onto supermarket carpark which had deliveries at 6am. So early start. Also though there was a washing machine there was no dryer or airer, so not really possible to use it.

This was a fabulous find - a little quirky but in a good way. Loved our room up on the first floor - beautiful bathroom. On the main road but double glazed. The continental breakfast was very well done.

The decor is amazing. Staff inviting. The small size makes you feel like you’re staying with friends. We chatted with a couple at dinner in town, walking distance. And lo and behold they were also staying at the Poshtel. Well stay again!

All I can say with certainty is that my room was incredible! Clean and quiet with a mariner’s motif with just a bit of steampunk here and there (I believe each room has its own style.) I didn’t know what to expect, but it far surpassed my best guess as to what the heck kind of experience the stay would be. I would stay here again without doubt.

Poshtel was a really nice option for staying in Oamaru for a few days. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the rooms were comfortable and nicely decorated. The public space in the hotel was beautifully appointed, and the location is extremely walkable to the historic downtown area of Oamaru. The breakfast was simple but very delicious. The only critique I could come up with is that they close access to the main public room when the check-in area closes for the night, which is a little on the early side. But apart from that pretty minor inconvenience, this was a fantastic hotel and I would absolutely return.
