  • Gården stugor ligger utanför huvudbyn framför husgården och ligger bara 50 meter från floden Oude, vid bron som leder till gårdsfrontens främre grindar. Denna stora stenhus består av tre stugor och har en stor gemensam bakgård. Farm Cottage 3 har också en liten trädgård med trädgård och gott om parkeringsplats.

    Den främre ingången till Farm Cottage 3 är genom en liten veranda och hall som leder in i ett stort vardagsrum (utrustad med öppen spis, dubbel bäddsoffa för tillfälliga gäster, CTV, DVD) med fantastisk obehindrad utsikt ner Loch och över till Scarba och Luing. Hallen öppnar också in i köket och matsalen (med ugn, spis, kyl, frys, mikrovågsugn och diskmaskin) har en bakdörr som leder till trädgården.

    Trappan leder från korridoren till övervåningen där det finns ett sovrum med dubbelsäng; dubbelrum (zip'n'link till dubbel); ett familjerum (med dubbelsäng som skiljer sig till tvillingar, plus en uppsättning kullar). Det finns ett stort badrum (med badkar, över badkar, wc och handfat) och ett extra duschrum (med duschkabin, wc och handfat).

Fantastic, perfect location, accommodation superb and staff delightful.

Highly recommend Melfort Village. The quality of the accommdation is first class and the area is just beautiful. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Great holiday,great place,very helpful staff.

We had a lovely week at Farm Cottage Three. Right from the start even before we even arrived, when I had occasion to contact them the staff were friendly and very helpful. The area was stunning, the boat trip round the Isles to see the whirlpool is thoroughly recommended and excellent value for money.The Musical Evening on the Monday in the Shower of Herrings was also very good.The only adverse comments were the lack of sufficient lighting around the grounds and outside the house at night, also the garden was not completely secure. We had three dogs and half the gate was missing. A really good holiday. We hope to return in the future.

Great location for a fantasic holiday. Had to pay for our dog and electric at the end of the holiday, this wasn't made totally clear on the pre-booking description but other than that, we were very happy.

Absolute gem!

We recently stayed in farmhouse cottage 3 at Melfort Village. The quality of the contents (full Denby crockery set), beds, furnishings, outdoor furniture is the best I've experienced in a rental cottage across the UK. The view of the loch amazing from cottage. The nearby pier for fishing wonderful (we caught mackerel), tennis, table tennis, swimming pool, play area all in very good nick and therefore well used by us. Other than being a 20 or so minute drive from Oban this place is absolutely perfect. Thank you

Another great break at Melfort Village

Stayed in Farm Cottage 3. Very spacious well equipped cottage. Top quality fixtures and fittings. Loved the open fire. Kindling, coal and logs readily available to buy at reception. All staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful. Lovely meal at Shower of Herring restaurant on site. Great music night with local musicians again in the Shower of Herring . We loved our holiday in Melfort Village. A peaceful and beautiful setting. Home with batteries recharged! Hope it won’t be too long till we return!

Absolutely fantastic location and cosey homely cottage

We were really pleased with our stay at Farm Cottage 3. Ideal location for exploring the Argyll and Bute part of Scotland. We enjoyed our cycling and walks in the area. We loved the horses being at the front of the cottage so we could give them lots of attention. Couple of negatives unfortunately 1) the electricity bill on departure was a huge shock (probably due to the electric storage heaters!!). We knew we had to pay for electric but £76 for 1 week we felt was extortionate 2) it would have been nice to be pre warned that we had to pay for the kindling that was ‘already in the cottage’ on arrival - we presumed it was a lovely welcome gesture but sadly not. Overall though a lovely stay....

Lovely comfortable family cottage.

An ideal Cottage for our family of five , who had a wonderful week making the best of all the super facilities. The highlight was a riding lesson with Shuna at Easy Rider which was an excellent fun lesson for the girls.

Absolutely loved our stay at Melfort Village with family in Farmhouse 3

We enjoyed a wonderful holiday in Farmhouse 3 at Melfort Village and made the most of the facilities, swimming, playing snooker and attending the most entertaining music night on Monday evening. The area had great walks and our accommodation was excellent. The staff couldn't do enough to make our visit perfect. Will definitely be returning!

Great place

Based at the foot of Loch Melfort this place is ideal for touring the west of Scotland. The house is comfortable and well equipped. Unfortunately the Shower of Herring bar and restaurant was shut during our stay. Plenty to do in club swimming pool and snooker. Staff friendly and helpful the welcome meeting is not to be missed and neither is music night.

Wonderful holiday

This has been one of the best holidays we have spent at Melfort, and we have been coming for 20 years or so. Nothing was too much trouble to the Staff, the Cottage was very comfortable and clean and we had a mid week clean extra and they did a magnificent job. So much so that we have just posted a thank you card to them. They have improved in leaps and bounds, The internet is poor there, but considering where they are located it is a miracle it works at all.! The Shower of Herring was shut on arrival on the Saturday, due to illness, which may have been a problem to some guests expecting an evening meal on the day of arrival, fortunately we had Tesco delivery which the Staff dealt with so we were O K. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay , many thanks to the Staff,

Fantastic Five Star Stay in beautiful Kilmelfort

Stunning scenery, friendly welcoming staff, brilliant facilities & very comfortable & clean charming cottage with excellent garden space & views. Our stay couldn't have been more perfect - special mention for Olwen in reception who is a star and has all the local knowledge - she guided us to a fantastic day out to Gigha Island where we ate at The Boathouse restaurant (I think she ordered the sunshine for us too!!). Also had a very relaxing massage from the lovely Annie at Kilmelfort - very highly recommended!! We also went Canadian canoeing with Dave from Kayak Majik & horse riding at Lunga Stables with Patricia - both fantastic memorable experiences with lovely folk and happy memories made! The swimming pool on site is also a winner for families and there is plenty to do if you're staying around the village - tennis, beach combing, walking, golf, play park, football etc - our kids were on the go the whole time and were never bored. Go, you won't be disappointed!!

We love Melfort and have been visiting for 25 years.

Melfort Village is a site that we have visited for over 25 years. We are never disappointed with the quality of the cottages and garden area. The pool is lovely and a real bonus with our unpredictable Scottish weather. The staff are friendly and helpful always ready to sort out any problems. The Shower of Herring is a super facility , unfortunately not open all days when we stayed due to unforseen circumstances. However the quality of food and service were good when they reopened. There is a wide selection of activities in the surrounding area. The only downside is the narrow and at times busy roads which can be frustrating. Lovely mix of walks in the immediate area. Sunning area for scenery and wildlife exploration. A relaxing and quiet Village for those who want to chill out.

Great location for touring west coast of Scotland

Lovely, clean house, very comfortable and everything we needed. A welcome pack with milk, sugar, coffee and tea would have been a nice bonus because nearest shop is about a mile away and isn't always open for arrivals. Situation and amenities were super and would definitely recommend

After staying in the walled garden the week before this we felt that the farm cott was a little tied, but we had a nice time and staff were very nice. Again we would have liked to use the restaurant, which was closed and the bar had it been open on more than one occasion.
