HORRIBLE STAFF, OK STAY

I READ REVIEWS AND CHOSE NOT TO STAY HERE, BUT BECAUSE OF RODENT PROBLEMS AT ANOTHER HOTEL THIS WAS OUR ONLY OTHEER OPTION....DONT DO IT....STAFF WAS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!! CLEANING STAFF WAS PLEASANT AND THE OVERNIGHT GUY WAS GREAT, BUT THE MID DAY GUY DID NOT WANT TO HELP US IN ANYWAY- EVEN AFTER WE ASKED HIM TO HELP US (2 FEMALES) BRING OUR HOTEL CHAIRS DOWN TO THE BEACH HE REFUSED, WE TOLD HIM WE WOULD GIVE HIM A TIP AND HE SAID HE DIDNT NEED OUR MONEY!!!! WE ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH OUR SHUTTLE BUS THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO PICK US UP THE NEXT MORNING AT 6AM AND WE NEEDED TO CALL THE SHUTTLE SERVICE ASAP IN ORDER TO MAKE OUR FLIGHT BACK TO CANADA THE NEXT DAY...HE REFUSED TO ALLOW US TO USE THE PHONE SAYING HE NEEDED TO KEEP THE LINE FREE AND WENT BACK TO LOOKING AT THE COMPUTER AND IGNORED ME WHILE I WAS TALKING! I HAD TO TURN ON MY ROAMING AND CALL INTERNATIONALLY!! HE MADE OUR STAY MISERABLE....BECAUSE OF HIM WILL NEVER GO AGAIN!!!! THE BREAKFAST WAS EXACTLY AS STATED; JUST CEREAL AND JUICE THE ROOMS WHERE A GOOD SIZE AND FAIRLY DECENT WITH A NICE VIEW TO THE BEACH THE LOCATION IS VERY FAR FROM TOWN AND WAS ADVISED TO NOT LEAVE THE PLACE AS IT WAS UNSAFE TO DO SO BY OURSELVES...THERE WAS A BRIDGE WHERE PEOPLE SMOKE AND DRANK. LOOKED LIKE A SPOT WHERE THE HOMELESS HUNG OUT. ALL AN ALL THIS PLACE WAS SATISFACTORY FOR A LAST MINUTE STAY...WOULD DEFINITELY NOT GO AGAIN NOR WOULD I RECOMMEND!!!!!! PLEASE DONT LISTEN TO ANY OTHER REVIEWS;

Decent place

I really liked that this hotel is on a quiet beach that's great for swimming, but not much sand though if you are into tanning (not sure anyone is these days). Breakfast included, Rooms are OK. The parking area is dark and sketchy and having read other reviews about it i was nervous about leaving my rental there, so I asked management if I could parallel park against the property, which they allowed. All was fine in the end, nice friendly staff, OK for a night and I liked that it was a bit away from the city center and all the hustle.

"Unforgettable" experience

nice location for a hotel, by the beach side but this hotel did not capitalize on this. I spent one night with my wife and I will never go back. Simply substandard.

Secluded Quiet hotel with very good view of ocean

My wife and I checked in on Wednesday June 17th at approximately 4:00 pm. We were greeted by Mrs. Williams who had a very welcoming smile and a pleasant personality. The house keeping staff was very pleasant and did a vey good job in keeping the room clean and stack with all necessary service requirements.

Description not accurate.

The room was spacious and pretty clean, but there is NO restaurant as described in the amenities section. What they have is a kitchen and the housekeeper can make meals if you order it in advance AND if they have the food available. They have a menu, but when I placed my order for meals, they were not able to fill them. I had to take taxis daily to get food, which got pretty frustrating and expensive after a while. The hotel staff was very nice and did everything they could to try to make me comfortable, but the hotel is very old, pretty isolated outside of the town and is very limited in amenities. There is no swimming pool and no activities on site. It was quiet and I got a lot of sleep, but I would not stay there again.

...nd think again about staying here. Yeah, it’s cheap for Jamaica, but cheap in Jamaica gets you a flop house on the beach. Room décor looked like a garage sale in Detroit. Carpet way beyond useful life. Bathroom like a bad dream and you get the picture. Best thing about this place is the beach and it’s really nice.

This spot in Ocho Rios is beautiful. It is set away from all tourist spots but, still close enough to enjoy all the Ocho Rios has to offer. The staff are amazing and keep the place very clean. We would definately go back next time we are in Ochee!

I would never stay in this hotel again. The service was as poor as can be and the information that I got incorrect. Parking is insecure not even a decent breakfast. Boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice beach, thats about it. Needs total renovation, looks like a slum. No restaurants near but luckily some local ones do pick-ups from hotel. Don't go without a car and if you have one, be careful where you park it... I'd choose different location next time.

NOT a good hotel for relaxing.

This motel is not a good place for couples or families looking for a relaxing vacation or for anyone that expects to be able to move around freely. The beach is great as are the views. But if you stay here have your own drinks and food. If not you will suffer and getting around is a drag. I will not be going back to Jamaica again but if I do I will NOT even think about staying here.

Security was a major concern. Strangers could walk onto the property easily . The $60 deposit for a room key didn't play well with me. I couldn't bring guess to my room Paint falling of the walls A rusty a/c unit on the patio that was a eye soar

It was OK, we just wanted to get away from Kingston, where we were working. The hotel (motel, really) is a bit run down, I expected more for the money. However, the staff were very helpful. The area is not centrally located so you have to take relatively expensive cabs everywhere. Give the river raft trip on nearby White River a miss. It is full of trash, you can't go very far upriver and the gondaleers become hostile when you try to negotiate a reasonable rate from them.

Very uncomfortable bed!

Will not recommend to friends or family, hotel location difficult to get to, rough roads and neighborhood. Room was nice location, but sheets and bath mat was not changed entire 6 days.

Lovely ocean front location

The hotel and staff were quite nice. The major problem we found with the hotel, was there was no restaurant to have dinner. The surrounding neighborhood was not one we would walk thru alone at night. We also didn't know of any restaurants close by. We had to order pizza delivery one night and it was the smallest pizza I ever saw. We were also told there was a restaurant next door at an "all inclusive" resort. When we checked into it, we were told it would cost us $75 each just to go into the resort plus the cost of dinner. Not acceptable. Also the shower left something to be desired. There was only one heavy flow of water coming out of the spout. Nothing we couldn't overcome, but it could have been much better.

Cripple Ripple (our nickname for this hotel)

The only value to this hotel is the relatively private beach, few guests, quiet and peaceful area. Hotel is in shambles, towels are dirty and stained. Ugh. The staff is very friendly but there are NO ammenities at this hotel. One has to walk to Shaw Park to get a drink or meal or drive into town.

Secluded beach hotel

This hotel, which is right on the beach at the far east end of Ocho Rios, is secluded and rather hard to find because the loop road shown on maps is closed off by another big hotel. However, it is close enough to the main road that one could walk from there. We had a car and were a bit worried about leaving it in front of the hotel, but the staff assured it that it would not be a problem and they were right. The hotel has a basic breakfast but adds extras at a small charge. The desk is manned 24 hours, and the staff is wonderful at giving information and directions. The room was large and comfortable and very peaceful with the ocean a few steps away.
