I appreciate having a guest for nine nights as everything needing improvement will be noticed. This is a rural property which relies on well water. The mineral content of the water drawn from 105’ is high. The water filtration system is serviced every three month and backwashed daily to maintain a good flow of three gallons of clean water per minute. Seldom is there a problem with this level of maintenance. It can be fixed. The two incidents of smelling propane are very serious and still being investigated. No one else before or after has noticed this odor. If a leak it would be constant. The tank was 78% full so not low fuel odor either. No one investigating has found the source of the complaint. Still, an additional CO detector was installed and the propane stove company is scheduled for detailed examination. The last possibility is the propane barbecue was not turned off again and five gallons of propane wafted into the air and could be detected in the loft above. This would explain why it was only detected for awhile. This continuing investigation is based on the assumption everyone knows the smell of propane vs other smells native to the area.
