Pros
This property is close to one of the main entrance gates and the Oasis Club. The indoor home temperature was very comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked well. A vacuum and Swiffer are provided but you must purchase Swiffer pads. Instacart and The Vacation Grocer are great for delivery of groceries. Garbage is picked up daily, early in the morning.
Cons
Access: Initial entry into the community can be excessively long depending on day/time
Kitchen: Basic kitchen items were provided. However, some items such as the pot tops or utensils are rusted and need to be replaced. There were only 2 dishwasher tabs provided for the entire stay. Hot water in the kitchen did not work. Maintenance came and showed us how to get it to work.
Water: The water throughout the home was problematic. It gave off a sewage/sulfur smell that was very unpleasant. Maintenance said this was normal and there was nothing they could do. However, I found that the neighbors didn’t have this issue. Homeowners should look into this. This issue ruined what would have been a great vacation for us. We spent lots of money on bottled water to cook and clean with.
Cleaning Standards: According to your welcome letter the following additional steps are to be practiced but were not: Spare bedding is to be stored in sealed plastic containers and placed in each room. Disinfectant spray has been provided for your use for highly used surfaces. Comforters have been removed from the beds and stored in a bag in the closet.
We ended up washing the bedding because we were not sure that they were washed. We also purchased disinfectant and other cleaning products. Hand sanitizer was provided, but there was no label of ingredients to tell if it was alcohol base and what percentage.
Pool: Pool heater was broken throughout our stay. They were not able to get it up and running before our stay ended. Also, pool area was overcome with spider nests. I called maintenance about this as well and there was no action taken.
Bathroom: 1st Floor guest room toilet was broken, and we had to call maintenance 3 times to fix it. On the third go, maintenance changed the pump and it still did not work properly. We decided to not call again and to just use another bathroom.
Lastly, the vacation owners did refund the pool fee, but did not offer any other concessions or ways to resolve my biggest issue which was the water. I would definitely rent in this community again, just not from these property owners.
