You’ll get your steps in…but worth it!
Ellen (host) was so kind! Greeted us upon arrival and showed us around. A lot of uphill walking and stairs to get to the room, but it was comfy and clean (albeit a little dated & some minor repairs needed). Kitchenette is minimal, but we didn’t need to cook. Beautiful view from the balcony! Saw whales & seals, just where we were told they would be! The Inn grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the quaint Spyglass restaurant has yummy food! Their GF veggie pizza was actually quite impressive, as was my whiskey stone sour drink. So many beautiful sights within a short walk or drive! It was a quick getaway for us, but just what we needed. Definitely would consider going back!

Can’t get any more beautiful
Beautiful stay here. It’s very high up with no elevator but so worth it if you are able. The view is spectacular and the area is close to Newport where you can visit the seals and the lighthouse and beautiful grounds. It’s like living in the forest here, we loved it.

Annual anniversary getaway
First time at this property but won't be the last. Beautiful grounds and views. Many things to do on site and short walks to beach and town of Otter Rock. Also short drives to Newport, Depoe Bay or Lincoln City. We loved our stay.

Great place to stay
This was our second time staying here and it was just as nice as the first. The condo has everything you need for a getaway. The views are incredible! The beach is awesome and it’s great that’s its right on the property. Also, Ellen is a wonderful and very attentive host. I’m sure we’ll be back again.

Beautiful condo with magical view!
We loved our time at this condo! The host was so nice, and met us exactly when planned. She also was nice enough to help us carry our luggage up to the condo. We spent our whole stay on the property. There were so many things to do! My favorite part was watching sunset from the balcony. Seeing the whales and seals was a highlight for my son.

Surrounded by Beauty
The view was incredible! From our high viewpoint we could enjoy the ocean, in a spot where whale watching boats came, as well as lush tree covered hills and birds. Walk to Devils Punchbowl and amazing tide pools, etc. The suite was comfortable and had all that we needed. Ellen is kind and helpful. A great stay.

Family Reunion
Fantastic. Best views. Ocean breeze. Therapeutic feel. We met our family (who stayed in other condos in Otter Rock) and had the best time. So much to do. Clamming, shelling, surfing, eating... Pool, ping-pong, and the best white sheets ever in Ellen's condo.

This property largely surpassed our expectations. The property is beautiful with access to a nice quiet beach. The room overlooks the ocean with amazing sunsets. The kids loved the pool. Ellen was a fantastic host, she was available and went out of her way to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend this place.

Beautiful property!
We were amazed at the beautiful landscaping at the Otter Crest condo community! The ocean view was good from the private balcony. The location is wonderful. Close to Depoe Bay for whale watching and you can walk to Devils Punch Bowl from the property at low tide! The halibut sandwich at Mo's Restaurant at the top of Devil's Punch Bowl is great! The condo unit was clean and modern. There is even a gas grill on the grounds for guests to use. Ellen took good care of us and gave us a lot of information about the area. She was readily available to answer our questions.

Gorgeous view!
We absolutely loved our stay at Ellen’s property. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area at check-in and helped us get the bags to the room and show us where everything was. We wandered up a path to the room through all the beautiful flowers on the property. So pretty! This was a work-around from the stairs if stairs are not for you. It was just the two small staircase up to the room. The room was clean and had everything we needed for our weekend. Having the restaurant on site was also great after a long drive. Super convenient to grab dinner. The beds were very comfortable, but waking up to the spectacular view was everything! We saw sea lions playing in the afternoon and whales feeding on the keep in the morning. The beach was fantastic; we loved looking in the tide pools when the tide went out. And being able to explore Devils Punchbowl was also incredible. I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about our stay. We had a wonderful time! Thank you Ellen for sharing your place with us!

Lovely view, great location, just as described
We were very pleased. The condo was exactly as described, with just a phenomenal view. Wonderful tide pools and a state Marine Garden on the beach below; we walked into Devil's Punchbowl and saw sea urchins, sea stars, anemones, and sea lions, and had a day at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. As noted in the description, there isn't a kitchen (there's a microwave and small fridge), but food can be ordered from the on-site restaurant. Beds were comfortable, and space was clean. Also note that the condo is at about the highest point on the property (which makes for a great view and was a selling point to us) but that you'll need to bring you luggage up by foot - we didn't find this to be an issue, and were helped by the gracious host, but older folks/persons with disabilities should be aware of this (again, this is all in the description). An absolutely lovely property, sea and old growth forest, and a great value.

Incredible View
The location was everything! The grounds are stunning, the access to the small semi-private beach was easy and I can’t rave enough about the view from the balcony of Ellen’s suite. The suite is on the smallish side with a separate bathroom and only a microwave plus mini fridge in the large entry closet. So don’t plan on doing any cooking. The pool was very nice. You will surely get your steps in if you stay here-you get lots of exercise no matter where you go. But that was fine with us. Ellen was an excellent host-offering to help with our luggage or anything we needed or wanted to know! She even had a wagon to help bring our luggage to the suite😊

The condo itself is in good, but not new, condition. Ocean view from deck is exceptional. The grounds landscaping is really nice, with many hydrangeas and rhododendrons blooming in July. The area itself is super beautiful. Tennis court definitely needs resurfacing, but it worked for us. Serious players wouldn’t be happy with the condition. Pool is great. The room only has a microwave, so be prepared for that kind of cooking. There is a restaurant nearby, but they are only doing takeout, and apparently take orders by email. Their social media and website are not up to date, so there is a lot of misleading information floating around. The main thing to know is that walking to and from the pool or parking lot…it’s a real hike. Perfect if you want a workout, but it’s not for everyone, and definitely not for folks with physical challenges (unless you are looking for some physical therapy!). Because this condo is being privately rented out, guests can’t get rides on golf carts. Even though I’m ok with walking…it did feel a little unfortunate when I could have used help transporting luggage (owner does provide cart, but this doesn’t help on stairs). Office will help with getting change/soap to use coin operated machines, which are near office. It was difficult to get comprehensive information about this condo until we actually arrived and figured things out. All in all, I would enjoy staying there again sometime. The view from the room cannot be beat.

Beautiful coastal getaway
We loved our two nights and left wishing it was a longer stay. Incredible access to the best tidal pools we saw on the Oregon coast. We watched from the balcony as whales spouted offshore in the morning. The description details the trek up to the rental. Be sure you are prepared for that, and this will be a vacation stay you will never forget! Thank you!

Beautiful spot on the Oregon Coast
This property is in an amazing spot! Tide pools, seals, whales, we saw it all from the property. Ellen is so kind and thoughtful. The room was good - comfortable and clean. There is definitely some stair climbing required at the property. Just be aware if that’s an issue for you or your group, but for my active crew it wasn’t an issue at all.

It was so peaceful, and the sound of the waves from the deck was heavenly. The grounds of the Inn are gorgeous, and it’s an awesome walk on a path through the forest to the Devil’s Punch Bowl and Mo’s seafood shack. We would definitely stay here again

From A up to Z - Hike up the hill
The property was clean but outdated. The most difficult part of the stay was the 1/4 mile hike to the Z building. I have stayed at the Inn at Otter Crest in the past and knew it was an older location, so having an 'old school' room was fine. However, the owner does not pay for the golf cart service, so plan on hiking. One of the evenings we were faced with low clouds and wind gusts. I was concerned for my friend's safety up the steep path. We were able to pay the golf cart drivers, although he said he might be disciplined for driving a Y or Z building owner because they do not pay for the service. Due to the weather, he too was concerned for my friend's safety walking up the hill. Howerever, the view was great once up there.

VRBO is not part of the in house services for the property. I made sure this was understood. I'm sorry the weather turned and happy our staff made a safe way for this guest. Our bellman's are very helpful and it is part of my HOA, which I do pay monthly and this guest was misinformed.

Beautiful place...
The view was amazing. Ellen (the host) was so sweet and helpful. It was an amazing experience. Definitely recomend this place and can't wait to go back. Room was clean, and you really get what you see in the pictures. The view its beautiful from the balcony + if you love nature this place is a must, full of trees, flowers you'll feel next to the ocean and the forest at the same time.

I learned a new definition of a "condo" this last week. Apparently I was confused about the difference between say a "room with a bath" and a condo....They are the same! Previously when I have rented through VRBO a condo meant an entire apartment, this time it meant 1/2 a condo as this owner had subdivided the property. So technically a condo, yet still not what I was expecting. AND.....this particular property required about 200 stairs to get up to it and about 500 or so to actually get down to the beach. So if you are coming to stay here I suggest about 2-3 weeks on a stair stepper device to get your thighs ready for all the climbing you are going to do if you stay in this property. The owner was very nice and helpful, I just felt that the VRBO listing was pretty misleading. If my elderly mother had been with us, we could not have stayed.

Great location high above the cliffside
Overall we had a very nice stay. The location was gorgeous and falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean is always wonderful. The distance and elevation from the parking lot might be a problem for people with health conditions, issues or young children. I would definitely recommend this property for anyone looking for a nice summer vacation in Oregon near Newport or Depoe Bay.

The condo was stunning! The view from the balcony unbeatable and I slept so well by leaving the door slightly open at night to listen to the waves crash. The condo was clean, spacious, and provided everything I needed. The property was beautiful with flowers everywhere, a heated pool, hot tub, arcade room with ping pong, pinball, a racing game, a a Ms PacMan game, plus wonderful beach access. We could walk to Devil’s Punchbowl by beach, look at tide pools, and watch the waves crash on the Sandy beach. The host was very friendly, communicative, and wonderful. Would definitely stay here again.

Peace and Sanctuary at Otter Rock
This unit has the most spectacular view of the most beautiful section on the central Oregon Coast (in our opinion). When you're able to watch eagles and whales from your balcony, it is a true blessing. Ellen was super accommodating, helpful and friendly. Our week was fun but also healing. We can't wait to return!

I don’t even know where to start. The location and view are spectacular. Ellen is an extremely gracious and thoughtful host. The place has everything you need for comfort and the property has all the amenities and gorgeous grounds. We booked sort of spontaneously and had no idea what an amazing treat this would be. My advice; plan your activities well because there is so much to do and explore nearby, you’ll want to pace yourself. Make sure to schedule plenty of time in the room because you’ll have the best of the best view on the Oregon coast.

Wonderful Relaxing Getaway!

Much needed little getaway
Ellen was fabulous, the view was amazing and the weather was beautiful! I really have no complaints....except I wish we could have stayed longer! Seeing the whales from our room was so cool and exciting. Ellen was such a wonderful host and I highly reccomend this stop to anyone making their way to the Oregon Coast! Beautiful accommodations on the coast
The property is accurately described in the listing. It’s location is perfect for exploring the coastline of Oregon. The resort property is very quiet and serene. Surrounded by old growth forest, it is a perfect get a way from the hectic rush of the tourist trap coastal towns. Ellen is the perfect hostess who takes care of her guests and is knowledgeable of the area. The little touches she provides in the unit makes it feel like home and is welcoming after a day out exploring. My wife and I have traveled extensively and this stay was a 5 star experience.
