When we arrived it was literally 5 mis before they stopped serving food BUT the chap said I'll go and ask the chef .,. He did and we enjoyed a very hearty excellent steak and ale pie each. “The Anchor Inn is an absolute gem!
The rooms are a good size and well-appointed, if perhaps a little dated.
Super friendly and accommodating staff, nothing was too much trouble.
The real surprise was the restaurant. I would recommend trying out the food, even if you're not staying at the Inn. The food was locally sourced, all fresh and well prepared and presented.
All in all a very pleasant two night stay.
