My boyfriend and I loved this hotel. The building is old and beautiful with an open fire in the lobby, the rooms are classy and practical, and there is a private library for the hotel guests with a phone to call the lobby if you need a drink – perfect for rainy evenings.
We had dinner at the Parsonage Grill, which was delicious, and ordered breakfast via a tick-box menu that you hang on the doorknob the evening before. Perfect breakfast, newspaper of choice included.
The location is great with everything within walking distance and the pub where J R R Tolkien and C S Lewis used to meet for beer is just a minute away. Still, the best thing about the Old Parsonage is the staff: thoughtful, amiable, polite and very knowledgeable when it comes to Oxford. Don't think I've ever felt so pampered at a hotel before. Can't recommend this place enough.
