The property was clean and as pictured.
However, the elevator situation is a pain. During spring break, you can wait for 15-20 minutes to get to the floor you need to get to. Being the room closest to the elevator on the 11th floor was a blessing and a curse. There was a lot of exterior noise, but it was nice to be close to the elevator for walking sake.
Calypso is also overrun by teenagers. There were hundreds of teens and young adults on the beach each night and were broken up by police for varying reasons more than once.
It is a beautiful beach; the water is clear and the sand is like fine white sugar.
Calypso is walking distance yo pier park, but that is also an epicenter for teenagers strolling and loitering.
We enjoyed being close to the beach and the amenities Calypso provided, but if you’re looking for something more family friendly during spring break, I’d say go back towards Destin!!
