Spring!!
We love to experience spring early and then return home for spring again. The accommodation allowed us to stay cozy with cooler spring weather than we have experienced in the past. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment that allowed us to prepare our meals ourselves. Our dog loved the accommodation as she could see out the screen door to watch the goings on and it was a great location for her walks.

Nice 3 Bedroom Cottage in Parksville, Vancouver Island
We spent a couple of months in Parksville this fall in this great little cottage on Resort Drive. Great accommodations and excellent property manager (Suzy). The cottage is roomy, has a great gas fireplace, two bedrooms one bath on the main plus one more bedroom with ensuite in the loft. The area is quiet and peaceful, close to amenities, restaurants, beaches and the park. Great walking trails nearby. We absolutely loved it and would recommend the location and the accommodations. We did ran into a couple of minor issues with a plugged drain and a leaky sink, contacted Suzy. She promptly arranged a plumber and the repairs were done without delay. Absolutely perfect!

Best Getaway
Clean, well stocked for my month long stay, close to amenities and especially walking distance to the beach and Rathtrevor Provincial Park. The host was easy to reach and responded helpfully. Highly recommended!

Great family friendly summer rental
Our stay was excellent. Cabin was very clean, quiet and well stocked kitchen for those that like to cook. Kids really enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub, and proximity to mini golf and Rathtrevor beach. Host super friendly and responsive. Would definitely stay here again, and would recommend to others!

Lovely and spacious cottage!

Delightful cottage!
Our family of five (plus dog!) stayed 9 nights in this delightful cottage near beautiful Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park! The cottage was perfect for our needs, providing ample space for our family to enjoy a relaxing beach vacation. The beach is a bit of a stroll from the cottage - so bring your bikes and ride to/from like we did! The Oceanside Village Resort community is very family-friendly with great amenities including the indoor pool/hot tub and Riptide Lagoon mini-golf and bumper cars next door. Suzy, the cottage’s owner, was super responsive and helpful. We had a wonderful stay!

Very impressed cottage! Everything was as shown in the pictures. The kitchen was fully equipped and made us feel right at home. Our kids especially loved the loft and the indoor pool. We were so thankful to have air conditioning which cooled the place down for good sleep. The bottle of wine and the many beach towels were thoughtful touches! Great communications with the owner - always prompt and smooth. Will book again without hesitation!

Family Getaway
I have stayed at this resort many times and this was probably the best unit and location for our young family. It’s located on a dead-end street, has a fully fenced deck and a very short walk to the pool. The backyard/deck backs onto another property so not the most private but wasn’t an issue for us. The kitchen had everything we needed and the toilet paper and paper towel were great quality (it’s all the little things that make a place stand out 🙂). We can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful stay
We spent the month of February at this beautiful cottage, the place was immaculate when we arrived, all photos are accurate. Bottle of wine upon arrival which was a nice touch, plenty of dishes and kitchen supplies, wifi excellent, nice 15 minute walk to to the beach, we hope we are able to return again, thank you for sharing your home with us

One month in paradise.

Home away from home.
Everything was wonderful about this rental. We love Parksville and it was a real bonus to have this property to come home to after hiking or biking. It truly felt like our home. Great hot tub as well to soothe the muscles. We hope to return again. Thanks.

Will not return
Beach access is not near this resort. By foot, if you trespass on a road owned by another resort, it is about 1/2 mile to the beach. The "conditions" were only sent to us 2 days before arrival. Found out we are responsible to fetch & pay for the propane tank in using the BBQ. Upstairs master suite "loft" is not private. Bring earplugs, otherwise you hear conversations & the T.V. below. There was no hair blow dryer. Fridge door shelf fell off & our bottle of wine shattered all over the floor. It was not fixed as well owner did not offer to buy us another bottle of red wine.

Dear Merle, Although I appreciate your comments I will share with our guests and readers that we were disappointed reading your review, it's not very tasteful and we assisted you with your many questions for months prior to your arrival to ensure your stay was excellent. Future guests please note information is sent 3-5 business days prior to arrival. We did give a complimentary bottle of wine even though their is no deficiency with the fridge, there is a hairdryer in the master bathroom and the BBQ does have a propane tank, guests are asked to fill if empty (under $20) and the log cabin grocery on the corner has supply if needed. Fantastic cottage at Oceanside
There are many cottages at Oceanside, this one really shines at it’s near the pool, has aircon, a great deck for bbq and is immaculate inside. We booked again before we even left!

Great Location in Parksville
Our family (4 adults and 2 kids) really enjoyed our stay in the cottage. The location is perfect being very close to Rathtrevor Beach Park as well as other Parksville beaches and amenities. The on-site pool was a great hit as was the mini golf Riptide Lagoon located on the same block. The unit is exactly as pictured and was a nice fit for our family during our 10 day stay.

Young family friendly
A review for parents with young children. We had my 1.5 and 3 year old and my parents. - baby gate for the stairs. - no high chair or crib. - one block distance to get to the mini golf area. Kids were able to walk without getting tired. You can still go in and enjoy the area even though you’re not playing golf. Ice cream, car structures to climb on. - pool is great. Shallow area is 3 ft, so will need parent at all times. There were two pool noddles in the home which were handy. Hot tub not too hot, kids could go in. Pool very close, can walk. - on a quiet cul de sac, so not many cars going in and out. - bunnies everywhere!! There was a small bunny living in the front grassy area. - air conditioning makes the home cool during the hot days. Keep the room doors open to cool them before sleeping. - entrance to rathtrevor beach is across the street, but long path to the beach. There was no way my kids could walk that far. We drove, lots of parking. We loved our stay so much that we booked again for next year!

Exactly as promised Welcoming place
From the moment we walked in it was perfect. Very welcoming feeling. The right amount of chairs for 6 people inside or out. So nice to have a proper table as we like to play board games. Location is excellent and only 5 min to beach. Parking is great for 2 vehicles. Left us a nice bottle of wine. So much to do here great holiday. Will definitely come again. They rescheduled us due to travel restrictions and gave us a discount since we had to change to more expensive summer dates. Wonderful place.

Great Accommodation
My wife and I stayed at this cottage for the month of October 2020. We were impressed with the overall cleanliness and location as well as comfortable beds. Very close to rathtrevor beach, local shopping and restaurants. Our grandchildren visited us for a few days and enjoyed the nearby indoor pool very much. This is a really nice cottage for couples and/or families. Highly recommended.

Great Getaway
Very clean, well stocked, and just as advertised. Easy access to Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Nanoose Bay and everything else in the area. The beach at Rathtrevor is about a 15 minute walk away. The only suggestion for improvement might be a fan for the upstairs loft bedroom. The downstairs area never got that hot and even late in the day when it did get a little warm, the AC cooked it down quickly. But that cool air never made it upstairs and it was harder to sleep up there because of that. Thanks.

A wonderful cottage for a trip to Parksville and Vancouver Island
We were in Parksville for a birthday party, and this was an ideal spot. Everyone enjoyed the cottage and the swimming pool/hot tub was especially appreciated by all. We were within walking distance from the Black Goose Pub and Rathtrevor Beach, as well as within short driving distance from all the attractions of the Parksville/Nanaimo area. Lovely cottage, quiet and restful. We would stay here any time.

Great family getaway!
From start to finish we had a great stay! Check in was easy and the amenities were great for our two kids, they made new friends daily. We were 4 adults and two kids and the cottage was well laid out to feel like we all had some space. Good location, only a little drive to multiple attractions.

Amazing time!
We had a great time with our family of 5 at Suzy’s place. It was very clean, and was very well stocked. The location was perfect for us, central to so many things. The check in was seamless, and the kids loved being able to ride their bikes around the resort and they used the pool every day. Rathtrevor Beach is so cool, and very close, and the community Beach in town in Parksville is great! We had so much fun, Thanks Suzy, see you next time! :)

Enjoyed our stay. Had everything we needed. Well taken care of unit. No dishwasher soap but I purchased a bag and left it there. Had some issues with the TV remote but Suzy was very helpful when I called for instructions. Had a cute bunny rabbit stop bye. Was a good visit.

Readers please note we do supply dish soap, dishwasher pods, laundry detergent, bath soap and hand soap and will work to ensure that all amenities are properly topped up and visible for our guests.
