Attempts to update only partially successful Breakfast menu a joke.Only two options either Full breakfast or porridge with no adaptions possible. Place needs insulating . Every conversation heard wherever in building consequently no sleep at night.

Thank you for your review. Our complimentary breakfast is limited, but it’s free. We do have some ability to change it about, such as scrambled egg on toast etc, you just need to ask the staff. Unfortunately it is a very old listed building, and there are limits as to what can be done in terms of internal alterations.

Great hotel, excellent staff and services. Room was largevand comfortable, modern bathroom. Restaurant was exceptional.

The bar was very noisy on Friday and Saturday nights. The front door was surrounded by smokers making entry unpleasant.

Thank you for your review. The night of your stay, there was free entertainment, it’s so so thing we offer occasionally and we find often guests appreciate it and join in. We do have street frontage and with several pubs there, and houses, people do gather and chat, and unfortunately smoke.

Thank you for your review. You certainly were not happy here, unfortunately we cannot find an issue with some of the things you were unhappy with.The taps were working when checked before your arrival and seem to be working today, The noise you complained about, from another room, other adjacent guests couldn’t hear, so it’s hard to say what that was. I’m sorry we couldn’t move you to 2 adjacent rooms, when you asked upon arrival, but you were one of the last to book and those 2 rooms were all that was available.

Disappointing. Knew we had an early check out, point blank refused to offer a take out breakfast option, as nearly all hotels will if you are leaving before the “free” breakfast. The room itself was reasonably clean, but stiflingly hot, on a day when it was almost 30degrees, they decided to leave the curtains open all day and let the heat stream in through the full glass door and windows. No fans available, blasé attitude from management about that, and minimal apology when we were charged £10 more for the room, this was an accidental error by staff, but could easily have been missed. The bar staff were lovely, the room was not worth the money, the pub is rough as a badgers proverbial, absolutely would not recommend it. Went somewhere else to eat and speaking to other hospitality staff and locals, this place is an embarrassment to the area. Despite withholding my name on the review, I know the management will know who I am due to email communication before check in. I do not care ….. I absolutely will not be returning, I’d rather sleep in my car

Thank you for your review. I would like to address a couple of points. We corresponded by email before your arrival and explained that we couldn’t offer an alternative to our free breakfast, you were also offered the option to cancel your room, as it did appear to be an issue for you, which we completely understood. All our fans were indeed in use, unfortunately, but this weather is somewhat unusual and people are finding it uncomfortable generally. The person taking your payment did make a mistake and you also missed it when using the card to pay. It was spotted immediately by the staff member, when completing the transaction and the refund was done there and then.

On the plus side, our bedroom was clean as was the bathroom. Similarly, the member of staff who, seemingly on her own, served everyone at breakfast was brisk and efficient. The breakfast options were somewhat limited and the table menu was very prescriptive in asking that no more than one glass of juice or one cup of tea/coffee be taken. The food itself was perfectly adequate. There were a number of negatives, not least no personal toiletries in our room. The main negative was the fact that it was impossible to get a good night's sleep. There was loud thumping music going on until near midnight and then there was conversation outside as people who had been listening to the music did not disperse for another hour or so. At one point, gone 11.00pm, I went downstairs to ask when the music might be stopping as we could not get to sleep. I was told "We have a licence till 12.00". There was no apology, no expression of concern, nothing at all supportive. I really feel that if a hotel is going to let out rooms when it is playing music till almost midnight, it should make it clear on its website and should endeavour to provide a degree of soundproofing. We had paid in advance for three nights but such was our "sleep" problem that we checked out after just one day. The manager was sympathetic, but made no offer of recompense in regard to the two nights we were foregoing, not that he had a legal obligation to do so, but I feel he had a moral responsibility to make some offer.

Thank you for your comments. We do have a later licence for music and opening over bank holidays and some guests do expect it, being a longer weekend than usual. Unfortunately some guests do prefer the quiet and it’s worth checking with venues before booking if that’s what you require.

Great bolt hole to escape Storm Betty middle of our camping holiday. Rooms ok. Breakfast was superb.

Das Hotel ist typisch britisch, das Familienzimmer war groß, modern, gemütlich & sauber. Da für das Etagenbett kein Rausfallschutz verfügbar war, haben wir einfach die obere Matratze auf den Boden gelegt. Einen Parkplatz haben wir direkt vor dem Hotel gefunden. Das Frühstück war etwas enttäuschend, da es beschränkt war (entweder 1 Schälchen Porridge oder warmes full englisch Breakfast und 1 Toast, 1 Saft & 1 Tee oder Kaffee).

A pleasant stay
The rooms were comfortable and clean, The food was excellent. The bar was very busy in the evening. The Wellington Hotel is an old building with charm. your booking in at the bar. We had two rooms one was inside the main building and the other was in a separate building at the back on the same grounds. There was no parking on site and only short-term parking out the front, but at a five-minute walk, you will find 24hr free parking car park.

The rooms here are above the pub which is a bit basic. The room was large and bright but approached by steep stairs, difficult if you have any mobility issues. Breakfast was restricted by it's limited choice and limited items. Service however was prompt, rather better than many large establishments. As a budget option in a hub location the Wellington was a good choice.

Excellent value for one night. Room clean and comfortable. The bar was well used by locals and served excellent food which was reasonably priced. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Would stay there again if in the area.

This is not a hotel. It is a pub / inn, very inconvenient for a proper stay, in particular for a family. The room has no wardrobe but just a small closet with some hangers. We had to leave our bags open on the floor for our clothes. No shower gel or enough toilet paper until we asked for it. Breakfast is very limited and poor quality and has to be from 8-9 am even on Sunday. All this might have been accepted but not at the very high price that I paid.

Children playing outside our room. Smokers talking outside in the yard. The room was beyond tatty. Bed/mattress was old. Shower was old and leaked. Breakfast was ok but no marmalade, no fruit but full breakfast was cooked and served ok. The only good point was the bed linen looked fresh, pressed and clean. Never again ......

Wunderbares Hotel in St.Just
Sehr freundlicher Empfang! Hervorragendes Full English Breakfast. Wird ganz frisch und nach Wunsch zubereitet. Hoteleigener Pub bietet sehr gutes Essen an. Super Betten! Kostenloser Parkplatz nur ein paar Meter entfernt. Geschäfte und Post direkt am Platz. Unbedingt einen kurzen Spaziergang vom Hotel zur Bucht von St.Just machen. Überwältigender Blick auf Klippen und Meer!

Our stay was very comfortable and the staff very helpful. The only downside was some noise by people speaking outside and from a small amount of traffic.
