Waterfront sommarstuga med Sea Breezes, solnedgångar, och simning från klipporna

Detta rymliga, fyra sovrum hus sitter högt ovanför New Meadows River. Koppla av på den stora däck med en vidsträckt utsikt över denna breda, saltvatten, tidvatten flod, som är fylld med naturlig aktivitet. Ankor, hägrar, skarvar, fiskgjuse och örn dopp i eller flyga över floden, segelbåtar zip tillsammans, och hummer båtar passera fram och tillbaka, bogserade av fiskmåsar. Om du har tur kan du även se en tätning dyka upp sitt huvud när den simmar tillsammans. Glimtar av bassängen kan också ses från skarndäck. Spela frisbee eller badmiton på gräsmattan, vandra den väg genom tallar och blåbärsriset till vattnet, plocka blåbär och hallon på vägen (i säsong). Njut av utsikten från den klippiga kusten eller, om du är modig, bada från klipporna. Kombinationen av gräsmatta, skog, bana, och klippiga kusten göra fastigheten barnland. Huset har en vacker matsal / vardagsrum utrymme. Matsalen är perfekt för stora familjemiddagar, med plats för upp till åtta vid matbordet och möjlighet att lägga till fler stolar och ett fällbart bord för större sammankomster. I vardagsrummet finns två bekväma soffor, en platt-skärmad tv och en öppen spis. Den välfyllda köket är bekväm, med gott om plats på bänken, diskmaskin och mikrovågsugn. Vår familj har tillbringat många år matlagning fisk- och skaldjurs fester och bakade öknar, och så köket är laddade med ett bra urval av köksredskap för dessa poster, inklusive en stor kruka som lämpar sig för hummer eller ångande musslor. Den första våningen har en vacker, luftig sovrum som är ner en lång hall från resten av huset, och erbjuder avskildhet och separation från förehavanden på i vardagsrummet / matplats. Det stora sovrummet har en katedral tak, träbjälkar och ett kontorsområde med utsikt över New Meadows River, liksom sina egna dörrar ut till en liten uteplats som är omgiven med blommor och har utsikt över floden. Den första våningen Badrummet är enkel, men har ett badkar / dusch med en sky-ljus över det, så att du kan duscha med utsikt över tallar och himmel. Toalett och handfat separeras från duschutrymmet med en skjutdörr, så att det är möjligt för en person att ta en dusch utan att blockera badrum tillgång. Den andra våningen av huset är pittoreska och rustik, med träpanel hela. Det finns tre sovrum på andra våningen (två med utsikt över vattnet). Den största andra våningen sovrummet har en king size-säng och fönster på tre sidor, inklusive en flod vy. Det finns en 2: a andra våningen sovrum med två enkelsängar och utsikt över floden, och en 3: e andra våningen sovrum med två enkelsängar och en liten vrå med lekplatser objekt. Även om detta 3: e sovrummet inte utsikt över floden, dess fönster erbjuder vacker utsikt över Maine skogen. Den andra våningen badrummet uppdateras för 2016 säsongen, och har en toalett, handfat och dusch, men ingen badkar. Genomgående är huset fullt av rustik charm. Huset ligger längs en grusväg bara förbi asfalterade delen, vilket gör det både avskilt och med enkel tillgång till det omgivande området, inklusive städerna Bath och Brunswick (som båda erbjuder shopping och många restaurang alternativ, både billiga och exklusiva), och de vackra bilsemester Popham Beach och Reid State Park. Freeport och dess utlopp shopping, Portland med sin fina restauranger och museer och konstgallerier i Wiscasset ligger alla inom en timmes bilfärd. Du kan tillbringa dagen med att utforska och komma hem för att njuta av en vacker solnedgång från väster vetter mot däck eller matsal stora fönster. Huset har en tvättmaskin och torktumlare, trådlöst internet, en platt-skärmad TV och kabel, och är välfyllda med spel. Det finns ett litet urval av familjevänliga DVD-skivor och en DVD-spelare, och en gammal skivspelare med familjens samling av jazz, klassiskt, klassisk rock rekord, och musikaliska gjutna album som du är välkommen att njuta av.

This is our third stay at this amazing property. The minute we walk in, we feel like we are home. It has an open yet cozy feel and we love the kitchen. It's all ready for lobster cooking too. The owners are just lovely and we just wish it wasn't so far from Oregon or we would go more often!

What a wonderful home in a fantastic location! It has everything you need for a getaway: open and inviting communal spaces including a spacious wraparound deck, stocked kitchen for meals, comfy beds, working fireplace, and so much more. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

This was one of the best VRBO homes I have stayed in. The views of the sunset were beautiful, the house was extremely comfortable, it was in a quiet location, but it easy to get to the town of Bath. The hostess was so accommodating. I would definitely consider returning. It was my friends first time to Maine. They fell in love with it.

Absolutely perfect Maine vacation home! The space is so thoughtfully laid out for lounging, cooking, game nights, and importantly coffee mornings and happy hours on the porch overlooking the water and sunsets, listening to the boats and birds. The cove was nice for swimming at high tide, picnic and kayaking. You MUST check out the hammock by the water. We went to Bath for the Saturday farmers market which was so lovely, and spent a day in Portland too! 100% would book again.

We have spent many vacations in Phippsburg area, but this was our first time on the basin side and it was great. If you enjoy having shops and restaurants close by, you may think you are too far out, but if you just want to enjoy having a home on the coast, you will love it.

North east getaway

Property owner had great information for local attractions, go Lobstering! The property is off the main path and the kayak and water access was great way to relax just would be nice to not have to walk down the road for beach access but the view was nice from the deck. The house is dated but clean and has all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay.

Amazing Maine getaway.

This was such a special place to spend our family vacation. We enjoyed kayaking, playing badminton, going to the beach and watching sunsets from the deck. We also loved spotting bald eagles and even an owl while we were there. The house was clean and well appointed. The owner was very responsive and pleasant to deal with. We highly recommend this location for a true Maine vacation!

We booked this wonderfully nostalgic home for a last minute getaway over the 4th of July. Everything about the house made us feel right at home. We spent most of our stay out on the deck with our feet kicked up. What a view!

Wonderful Weekend Escape

What a lovely place to enjoy a long holiday weekend away with the family. We loved the large deck for relaxing on in the late afternoon and watching the sun go down. Our boys loved the large yard for playing and relaxing on the hammock near the water. Bedrooms were nice and everyone slept well. Recommended!

Wonderful experience!

We loved our stay! Everything was as described and the property had more than we could have possibly needed. Alwynne was very responsive both prior to arriving and during our stay (we had a couple of minor questions). The house has plenty of room for family and extended family! Would absolutely stay again and it is in such a beautiful location and close to Popham beach!!

Pleasant escape to Phippsburg

Beautiful location with water views. Short walk to picturesque cove. Relatively short drive to Popham Beach, a long beach great for walking with views of multiple islands. Appreciated addition of A/C to living area and upstairs bedrooms as it was hot (at least for Maine). Well equipped kitchen. Pet friendly so we could bring our dog.

Amazing House!

This is a beautiful, well thought out, clean, lovely home. I can't say enough good things about it. It is a lived in home and not a cookie-cutter sterile empty place that is only there to make money. It is clear that people live here and that they love the house. The art on the walls is beautiful. Great location, nice beach, close to everything and yet beautifully secluded. We really loved our stay and thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Lake view respite

My family and I very much enjoyed our stay at new meadow cove spot. The views were spectacular, there was a large living/dining area that was open and surrounded by windows. It got pretty hot during our stay so we greatly appreciated the air conditioning making things much more comfortable! The house is in close proximity to Popham state beach (with access to a state park pass), Bath, Brunswick and Freeport are close by as is Boothbay. Nice quiet location and perfect if you are looking to relax and disconnect. Alwynne was very prompt and responsive!

Amazing Maine Coastal Waterfront Summer HomeMy family and extended family loved our stay in this spacious, summer home with lovely water views of the New Meadows River, gardens, and wildlife (deer, seal pup and bald eagle). The property and home is very well maintained. There was plenty of room for our family of 7. The views from the bedrooms and especially the living/dining room and wrap around deck are spectacular.We appreciated using the state park pass to go to Popham Beach and Reid State Park. Other highlights were sitting on the deck and on the lawn at sunrise enjoying our cups of coffee and tea, birdwatching, and lovely sunsets with family, visiting nearby Fort Popham, Bath, Bath & Iron Works, Five Islands and so much more. Communication with the host was excellent. We highly recommend this lovely and spacious property and hope to return. Thank you for your hospitality!

Excellent stay in Phippsburg

We had a wonderful stay at this house with extended family. We were a group of eight and we had plenty of room to spread out. We had quite a bit of rain but the house is so bright and living areas so spacious that it was not a problem being stuck inside. The house is part of a small, quiet community with a common dock area which was great for swimming and kayaking. On two evenings we had family from Portland come up for dinner and there was plenty of room for a large crowd to spread out. This is a special property with much of the original old house blended with new updates that make it very comfortable and bright. Communication with owner was excellent. We would absolutely rent this property again if ever up in the area.

Fantastic spot in Phippsburg

This house is in a perfect location on the Phippsburg peninsula. Our family enjoyed swimming and kayaking from the community dock only steps from the house. Our kids and dog loved playing in the yard as we watched sunsets from the porch over the cove. Beautiful Popham beach and Fort Popham are only a 15 minute drive. Bath for shopping and restaurants is also only 15 minutes away. The house itself was comfortable, clean and well appointed. The kitchen is well equipped with all we needed. The porch and yard are both fantastic. I would highly recommend this wonderful place!

Beautiful getaway spot

We had some extended family coming for a long weekend and wanted to stay somewhere by the water. This house has a very beautiful and large main bedroom suite on the first floor, perfect for my elderly in-laws. The living/dining area was extremely spacious and comfortable with gorgeous water views, and very nice furniture. Same for the deck. The kitchen and second floor bedrooms are a bit more rustic, but that has its own charm and they are well appointed and comfortable. To get down to water's edge is a short, fairly steep hike, not for everyone, but you can enjoy the water view without going down there. Very pretty sunsets!

Lovely historic family home

Wonderful old Maine family historic home. Beautiful upgrades to the living area and master bedroom. We loved the surrounding area. Really appreciated the AC and the fireplace. Nice walk from the house in the wooded quiet area end of peninsula. Beautiful grounds, cute nearby cove and dock, kayaks, peaceful and quiet. Really enjoyed the Popham Beach pass. Phippsburg is so cute as well as Bath, where we spent a fun rainy day (good coffee, nice shops). We highly recommend Spinneys, Trish’s pies, Winnegance Cafe. Alwynne was extremely responsive via text to any questions or issues and fixed a few minor problems immediately.

My husband and I with our dog - RV camped at Acadia for a week prior to this visit. For our second week of vacation, our 3 single adult children joined us at this property. I don’t know how long it’s been since we were all together for a week. The house, the property, the towns the beaches - everything was so special. We played lawn games, read, relaxed, kayaked and went to the beach. Every night, after sunset (!!) we played cards and games…it was a marvelous place .Our last night we went with Captain Joe Jerome (North East Salt Water) on his boat to his oyster nursery. We stood on a floating platform , in Casco Bay and learned all about oysters, their life cycle and body structure. Joe taught us how to shuck them and he gave us gloves and knives and we shucked and ate until we couldn’t possibly eat any more. As we motored back we got to enjoy one last sunset on the boat before leaving. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home. Jo-Ann and family

It was a pleasure to be able to plan a vacation after staying close to home for over two years. Maine has always been a favourite destination, so we started looking for a pet-friendly property in our preferred location. Alwynne’s home seemed perfect and it was available for the week we wanted. Our interaction with her was excellent. She was very responsive and answered any questions we had. We had no problem finding the property and the house was just as the photos showed. It’s a lovely, large home with a warm, family feel to it. Lots of room to accommodate large groups. The sunsets off the deck were spectacular. Our black lab enjoyed exploring the large property. Alwynne provided lots of information on local restaurants and things to do. The check-in and check-out process was easy and we’d definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway and a true Maine experience!
