  • Quiet peaceful home by the Chesapeake Bay. Wooded area with Loblolly pines and oak trees. Beautiful walking areas. Bird watchers dream...Bald eagles, Osprey, bluebirds, martins, buntings, woodpeckers, swans, geese, ducks, and migratory birds. Incredible views of the Chesapeake Bay at the mouth of the Pianktank.

    Wake up to the sun rising along the bay and relax watching the sunset on the bay. Can go fishing off the dock. A small grill is available for cooking near the picnic table. The area is full of mariner history back to Captain John Smith visiting Gywn's Island. The charming area still thrives from oysters and crab watermen. Water activities nearby. Be sure not to miss the local markets and seafood festivals

This is a wonderful house, incredible views, and very nice community. Glenda was wonderful, checked in with us before and after check in. Will definitely be back!

House was clean and had everything we needed for a long weekend getaway. Outside had chairs and a picnic table. Dock was nice to fish off of but we had no luck.

Enjoyed a relaxing anniversary weekend. Did some window shopping in Kilmarnock and enjoyed great seafood at a number of area spots. The house was a comfortable home base for our excursions and a great place to watch the wind/rain on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Love This Place

Wonderful place to stay on the River/Bay. We love the dock, the outside fire pit, the view!!! Super comfortable, clean, and well stocked home.

Water Oasis

We so enjoyed our stay on the Piankatank. Sitting on pier morning, afternoon and evening was a delight. We’d definitely stay again.

The house is not fancy but is clean, comfortable and wonderful! The view - waterfront is amazing! We spent most of our time on the dock, reading, bird watching (there is an osprey nest right there and was so much fun to watch), happy hour, etc.! The sunrises and sunsets were incredible! You can see both from the dock! We had good late lunches on Gwens Island, in Mathews, and in Deltaville! Ate some great raw oysters!! Wish I could live here!!!

Everything we could need was provided, and the views were stunning, especially at sunset. The host was very easy and accommodating,as an unexpected car repair required us to extend our stay.

Perfect Get Away Spot

The house is clean and comfortable and the view is beautiful. We loved sitting on the dock and watching the osprey and enjoying the peace and quiet!

Can't wait to return

This has become my favorite place for rest, relaxation and renewal. I always feel at home while at the cottage and have come to love Matthews County.

Great place, awesome host!

My family greatly enjoyed our stay here. The house was exactly as described, if not better! Communication was fast and precise. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting the area. The views of the bay are absolutely breathtaking!
