A very-well restored old stone building and beautifully fitted out room Emgaging amd nelpful host Excellent breakfast in elegant dining room. Convemient to town pubs and restaurants and to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway

Property is a beautiful home located in the centre of Pickering. Close to lots of lovely places to explore. Pascal was very welcoming. His breakfast is the tastiest we’ve ever eaten. Freshly made sourdough bread every morning was very unique and nothing we’ve experienced. Treats brought to room after check in was a lovely touch. Thanks for a brilliant weekend

Great weekend in Pickering
Beautiful bedroom, very comfortable bed (we overslept on e morning) and a chaise longue. Great roomy shower with plenty of hot water. Superb choice of breakfast with Pascals home made bread and jams. Excellent host. Will return.

My birthday weekend
Everything about our stay was brilliant , lovely room breakfast was perfect and pascal is very attentive and knowledgeable and fun to speak to , what more could you ask for in a weekend away ! If you’re in Pickering it’s the place to go . We will definitely go back and maybe take in the bread making course next time !!!

A Great 2 nights away in Yorkshire
We just had 2 nights but it was lovely Pascal was a great host from the minute we arrived with a glass of sparkling wine and canapes was a nice touch. The breakfast was amazing freshly cooked to order. The room was spacious clean and comfortable would definitely stay again when in the area.

The owners were very friendly. Very accommodating. The breakfast was stunning an excellent chef. What a lovely place to stay very clean and comfortable cannot recommend this place enough. Will definitely go back.

We enjoyed our stay at Cawthorne House. The location is great. The room was clean and comfy. Pascal, the host is friendly and very obliging. The breakfast is delicious.

The breakfast was amazing, the scrambled eggs are something else, if you think you have had nice scrambled eggs just wait until you try these that Pascal makes using double cream. We stayed 2 nights and would 100% recommend.

Great B&B in Pickering
Pascal and Cathrine House is exactly what you hope for from a great B&B! Lovely room, good bed, great shower and a great breakfast with a very friendly host. If we come back to Pickering we would definitely stay again!

Excellent Stay
We stayed for 3 nights and it was fabulous. Pascal the owner made us feel like family. The bedroom was big and very clean. Tea and coffee in bedroom. The breakfast was absolutely brilliant.... plenty of it, freshly cooked, hot. Recommend that you try the homemade sourdough.

Excellent stay
Had a wonderful stay at Cawthorne House. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and there were lots of little extras provided, including cookies and some fizz and little snack on arrival. Pascal is a excellent host and cooked a delicious breakfast. When you could also have cereal, fruit and his lovely soda bread. Cawthorne House is 5-10 minutes from the town centre and lots of interesting shops and pubs. Would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely time. Pascal was very welcoming and his family too . Bubbly and canapés on arrival was a lovely touch . Room very comfortable, had everything we needed. Breakfast was great especially the home made Sourdough. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful stay
This was my wife's stay and she said: I had a delightful stay at Cawthorne House. I had a lovely room with a very comfortable bed. The glass of bubbles and canapes on arrival were very welcome. The breakfast was amazing - Pascal's sourdough bread and scrambled eggs in particular were amazing. And the homemade cookies! I hope to return with Ian in the future.

One of the best!
My partner and i chose Cawthorne House on the strength of the excellent reviews we read, and I'm pleased to say that we were not disappointed! From the helpful correspondence sent after we booked, to the warm and friendly welcome we received on arrival - including canapes and a glass of bubbly - Pascal made our short stay truly enjoyable. The house itself is situated in a lovely street with easy walking access to Pickering town centre, and the Yorkshire coast within a half hour drive. A lovely clean room with excellent facilities and a cooked breakfast that was second to none! Although we were only away for a few days, It felt like proper break thanks to the excellent service provided and we'd have no hesitation in choosing Cawthorne House when we plan our next Yorkshire trip. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Foodies delight with a great Yorkshire welcome.
Our 2 night stay was excellent. Cawthorne House is a lovely building, full of character with traditional decor. We were made to feel welcome from the off and appreciated the extra touch of fizz and canapés and homemade cookies which Pascal provided. The owner is extremely personable - a Yorkshireman with a French name. We chose Pickering as a base to explore North Yorkshire on our motorcycle but we were disappointed to find the town had declined somewhat since our last visit, with many of the shops closed. Breakfast was a delight and certainly lived up to all the positive reviews. We were in room 4, a double at the rear and my only slight negative was the bathroom fan was noisy and stayed on for too long. On the plus side, it was very quiet and we were able to keep an eye on our motorcycle parked at the back of the building. Our experience overall was very pleasant indeed.

Pickering’s place to be.
From the welcome of home made cookies, glasses of fizz and canapés to the wonderful breakfasts with Pascal’s freshly baked sourdough bread we couldn’t have asked for more. We had a wonderful Yorkshire holiday but our stay at Cawthorne House was definitely the highlight. If you’re staying in or near Pickering, this is the place to be.

We have been to Cawthorne House several times now & it never disappoints. Pascal and his family are always welcoming. Not many B&B’s greet you with homemade cookies glass of Prosecco & homemade canapés!Fabulous location close to some beautiful places to visit. We would definitely recommend 👍

Wonderful stay.
This is a lovely guest house where you are treated as friends. There are only 4 rooms so nice and cosy. The hotel is ideally located being just a short 4 minute walk to the centre of Pickering, but is also handily placed for Whitby, Scarborough and York. The owners are very friendly and the included breakfast is absolutely spot on, especially the home made sour dough bread! Highly recommended

Birthday at Cawthorne
Booked for 65th Birthday treat. From arrival to departure everything was exceptional. Pascal made a restaurant reservation for us which was 1st class. Room was spacious and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel as nothing could be bettered. Sour Dough bread and scrambled eggs are to die for.

When we arrived we were shown to our room and given a jar of lovely cookies. We were then treated to a complimentary glass of bubbly and a canapé each which was a lovely touch. Pascal is a charming man who took care of all our needs. The house itself is very clean and the breakfasts are amazing with a good variety on offer and Pascals homemade sourdough bread. The house is only a few minutes walk to the centre of Pickering. We would certainly recommend Cawthorne house and will return.

Excellent Bed & Breakfast
Cawthorne House was a lovely house with private parking. The owner was very friendly, the bedroom and the bed were comfy and the breakfast was fabulous. Hope to stay there again!
